American Horror Story: Requiem 1981/1987: Part 2 (2022)
That's it, that was the season? That was just two men having gay sex?!?
I honestly don't know where to start, this has got to be the worst season of ahs. I really don't understand how this show keeps getting worse, its shocking how each season manages to be worst than the last. Don't even get me started on the out of touch 40yr old, ABOMINATION that was American Horror Stories.
Now, don't get me wrong in this day and age gay people are about as american as it gets but where the hell is the horror? This season started semi interesting with the mai tai killer but as soon as he's written out the writers seem like they don't know what to do with themselves. Even before that each episode was really dragged out, you can tell by the run times that they really struggled to fill the 45 minutes they were given.
The writers seem to be too busy huffing their own farts trying to come up with cool, deep and smart metaphors instead of actually writing something interesting, coherent and scary. This seems to be a theme with ryan murphy as all his shows somehow manage to nose dive straight into the pavement after 1 or 2 seasons (for "the watcher" it only took him 3 episodes).
Instead of a good story this felt more like the writers and directors were using the show as an excuse to make their own fetishes come to life. At the beginning i really thought that they might go somewhere really cool with the aids and the leather guy storyline but no, of course they didn't. Majority of it was just filler cliché crap. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if this show was just one big money laundering scheme at this point.
I'm straight but even i can see that this was a pimp slap in the face to the gay community. Especially those that truly struggled in that time frame, the men who would throw down and fight tooth & nail every night outside those nyc clubs and bars. The aids storyline could have been significantly more meaningful, impactful, disturbing and painful instead of boring nonsense.
They can't keep letting him get away with this!!!
Shame on all the great actors who let the writers get away with this garbage. Murphey and Falchuk should have never been given another show after what they did to the later seasons of nip/tuck.
The Walking Dead: Rest in Peace (2022)
Mediocre ending at best
The finale was pretty predictable it was just a setup for more damn spin offs instead of ending on an actual conclusion. I'm one of the few who has been watching this show every sunday night ever since the group left the prison and stumbled upon terminus. The only reason i stuck around so long is cause this was the first mature tv show i ever started watching seriously when i was 11 (19 now) back when i first got netflix.
Honestly half the episodes in every season past 3 or 4 could have been cut and then reduced down to 30 minutes. I don't know what crack these other reviewers are smoking but my god this was not a satisfying 10/10 ending for a show that has gone on so long.
Ill admit these last few episodes have been the best in quite a while but that's really not saying much, cause even then they still tended to drag on.
One crucial point to the story i think the writers really fumbled on was the evolution of the walkers intelligence taking waaaay to long and the different types of walkers they could have implemented i.e. The bloater in the well on hershel's farm. I know this isn't "The last of us" or "Dying Light" kind of zombies were dealing with but come on, they've been nothing but skin and bone for 8 seasons how are they still overpowering these characters and why did it take 20+ years for them to suddenly learn to climb, open doors and pick up items.
"Ladies and gentlemen it just doesn't make any sense" - Johnny Cochran
I will always have a soft spot in my heart for a lot of the characters and the actors but, i really don't think i could ever re watch all these seasons again. Even if i had it running all day in the background while i played games and browsed the internet. Maybe one day but for now i really don't see that happening.
Hacks (2021)
An average tv show made during the 2020's
Each episode you might get a couple nasal exhales maybe a muffled "ha" or a "he" but never a good laugh. The only characters than can be funny are jean, marcus and his family but other than that the show is kind of a drag. I don't really wanna get into ava but to sum up her character she's the usual hypocritical progressive mouth piece. Anybody rating this a 10 is just flat out lying to you and themselves, at best its 7.0 (still waaay to high if compared to other shows). There's nothing memorable about the show, the story is bland and gets really drawn out, on top of that majority of the characters are boring and uninteresting.
Better Things (2016)
Funny moments but not enough to save it
The show has some funny moments in each episode but my god this show captures every reason we just need to flush L. A away. Majority of the characters just like real life think they are significantly better than everyone else when in reality they are the most toxic people you can encounter on the planet, and not in a good seinfeld/iasip kinda way. The only character that isn't a nutcase is the gay guy but even he had his moments in season 2 or 3 with the dating drama, same for duke mostly good but has her moments. Its also weird that they want you to agree with frankie on her progressive ideology yet she is literally the meanest and most toxic child i have ever seen in a tv show. Im only 19 and don't have any kids yet but if i ever have some and they act like sams kids im getting a one way ticket to somaliland.
