The Third Reel Missing?
10 August 2019
I recently saw a 16mm print of this film at a film festival. It's a quirk of mine to time the films I watch and this one came in at 75 minutes. I've never seen a DVD of it, but this print seems to be very entertaining and was very well paced. Perhaps that missing third reel made it better. I liked it.

I Met The Demon
13 October 2018
I met Robert Culp in 2010 at the Palm Springs Film Noir Festival. He had white hair, but was still unmistakable.

He was having dinner and was rather angry I interrupted. I said, "Mr. Culp. please forgive me for interrupting you dinner, but this is probably the only chance I'll have to get an autograph." I guess my humble tone of voice was enough to calm his anger. I didn't mention "I Spy," or "Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice," which everyone thought would make him a star. I said "the one thing I've never forgotten was your performance in "The Demon With A Glad Hand." He replied "Oh, yes." Then he looked up at me rather pensively--thinking I was going to start a long conversation. I had already been told not to do that. I said "Thank you Mr. Culp, I love your work," and walked away. He evidently had a short fuse and I wasn't going to provoke a scene. Ten stars for "The Demon" and ten stars for the man.

Campus Sleuth (1948)

Interesting film
6 January 2018
A collector friend of mine has a 16mm print of CAMPUS SLEUTH. He timed it at 57 minutes. I saw it perhaps twenty years ago, but can't remember if it had a hayride musical number. Is the timing 57 minutes with or without that number?

Minstrel Man (1977 TV Movie)

An Inspiring film that is NOT "lost".
5 August 2007
I've read a number of comments here on the IMDb about the 1977 MINSTREL MAN being "lost". I'm unsure about Mr. Cosby's involvement, but I doubt he would try to suppress a film that has an undeniably positive view of African-Americans, especially with that extraordinary and uplifting ending.

The original producing company, Viacom (assuming they still hold the copyright) is still in existence and highly successful. Even if it has lost the copyright, I can guarantee you that this film does indeed exist and is not "lost". Why it hasn't been made available to the public via DVD is probably because few people know about it. It is after all thirty years old this year-----------and most people aren't interested in a film-----------let alone a TV film---------that is older than a year or so.

I agree with the posters who say this is one of televisions finest moments, and hopefully someday it will become available to all of you.
