Not bad
31 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Not bad for the time, but certainly not the best . There is one glaring mistake near the end of the movie. After Ismay get on a lifeboat, you see Helen Mirren's maid character right next to him staring a hole right through him. A minute later, you see her down in the lounge trying to convince Thomas Andrew's to save himself. A pretty obvious blunder. All in all, not a bad film, but it almost seems like a TV movie rather than a big budget theatrical release. David Warner was also in james Cameron's titanic . That makes one of two actors who have appeared in more than one titanic film, the other being Bernard Fox.

A war classic
22 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
What a terrific movie! I just finished watching it again. Terrific special effects and sound. And I agree with the filmmakers that the movie was correctly shot in black and white. Color just wouldn't have been appropriate for this film. One of my favorite lines in the film was " sometimes I wonder which side God is on." That's line was actually said by 2 different characters: Lieutenant Colonel Benjamin Vandervoort of the 82nd airborne, played by the Duke himself, John Wayne. It was also said by the German General Blumentritt, who was the aid to field Marshall Runstedt, who was played by Curt Jurgens. I was disappointed to find out that none of the actors were nominated for an academy award. Even though he had limited screen time , I thought richard Burton deserved a nomination. Oh well.

Much better than a lot of people thought
1 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Yes this move is much better than people thought. I read a review by a critic who said the main cast phoned in their performances! I couldn't disagree more! Nemesis was an extremely personal story. Picard finds out he has a clone, something which he is not at all happy about. We also find out the there was another soong type android who was build before data. Both are struggling to retain their individuality, while at the same time trying t stop the reman warbird from destroying earth. There is also plenty of action in the film, featuring a great battle in space. There's also something I thought I'd never see in a star trek film: the enterprise purposely with the reman warbird! This film was extremely personal and emotional, and all in all a terrific flm.

The World at War (1973–1974)

The best documentary ever on world 2
13 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This series was so well done. It doesn't just show what happened, but we get a little idea of what it was like for the people involved. British, German, Russian, American, polish, czech, and of course the Jewish. Even though I cant know what the war was really like, you find out what it was like those who experienced it. I also loved how the pictures combined with the narrative. That made the show so much more powerful. Another thing I liked that the show didn't repeatedly ask the German people did you know what was happening? That's what I hate about other documentaries. Who cares if the average German citizen knew? Just knowing what was going on wasn't going to stop it. There was no freedom of speech in nazi Germany. Dissent was absolutely not tolerated.

Disturbing, to say the last
19 April 2022
Yes it is very disturbing. But the filmmakers did a great job of showing the eerieness of a nightmarish dystopian future. John hurt and Richard burton give very good performances.
