Truth and Facts in a rich screen
22 February 2023
Finally I finished watching all films directed by Satoshi Kon.

It was fantastic as a Japanese Animation and a film. I couldn't help making noise at all the cuts because it was so cool. The scene of running on the snow and the scene of changing era were amazing.

On one hand, it was cool and I enjoyable so much but on the other hand it was the most difficult to understand compared to the other Kon's Filmography.

'Truth' for Chiyoko which is not 'fact', are absolutely nonsense as the camera man said. However, she was a film star even after retirement, and she literally told the story.

The important thing is that those nonsense stories were truth for her.

This film well showed the theme of Kon's creations which is 'story as fiction'.

Cinematic Poem
26 November 2022
1 to 3, 16th of April, 1960, you were with me. I never forget this one minute.

There are so many genres of films and Wong Kar-Wai's genre is poems for me. When I put those scenes into words, they get lost their sense of wonder.

Closeups of people's faces, old but cool musics, raining cats and dogs, emotions appearing as literal violence, adult sexiness, fragility and narcissistic characters.

I love Wong Kar-Wai films, the world he creates and the wet atmosphere so much.

In every cities, people meet each other, people break up with someone and people pass someone in streets. At the moment a pay phone rings and a man is getting ready to go out.

Suzume (2022)
This works because of THE director
26 November 2022
The timing of the title was completely perfect.

This film is about the earthquake but the Great East Japan Earthquake on 11th March 2011 is not mentioned even in its trailer. However it is helpful to know it to watch this film. Even though I had known it before I watched, fantasy and intense reality didn't match well. This film could be generalised as a fantasy. I didn't feel necessity of mentioning 3.11. Makoto Shinkai the director had created films about disasters with fantasy since 'Your Name.' which made him one of great anime directors. I think it was fine with fantasy.

There were some rough points such as Suzume the main character's stamina, East and West at the climax and not just Japan having earthquakes. However the pictures didn't let me think of it.

I recognized how great Shinkai's pictures were again at the first cut even animes with good backgrounds had been generous. I was surprised at the meadow and the heavenly body. The actions of the chair were cool. I liked the closeup of the key.

There were so many Ghibli homages. Some were connected to the main stream of the plot and was fine to me but the other parts seemed not cool. Hayao Miyazaki's earthquake in 'Wind Rises' was absolutely better than this film. The last two films 'Your Name.' and 'Weathering with You' were smarter at the way of mentioning 3.11 than this film. I think 'Shin Godzilla' was the best.

It was quite easier to watch his film without line sounded like inspiration porn than within weird monologues.

Only Makoto Shinkai could make this anime with his skills and all.

Not a hero film but a war film
26 November 2022
It was the second day after released and it was the first time that I found a film as a festival.

I had been watching most of MCU, I knew how important the first 'Black Panther' was. So I wanted to watch this film made after passing away of Chadwick Boseman. As I wrote it was a festival but this festival was funeral of Chadwick and T'Challa the king. I couldn't stop crying.

I enjoyed MCU with their max power which I hadn't seen since 'Endgame'.

I don't think this film was a hero film but it was a war film. There were some scenes that I didn't get; such as the scene of regaining a hostage. It seemed opportunism for me and it often happens in MCU. Also in MCU, one of important themes were forgotten and came to smoke, which I don't like.

The battle scenes were nice. I like M'Baku, the backhand punch with slow motion.

I understood the last scene Shuri recalling her brother meant she would open her mind to it.

How you become a family
26 November 2022
It was a special cinematic experience.

I'd been missing watching this film because it was released while I wasn't in Japan. I watched this film at a cinema called 'Ginre Hall' which old and will close soon. There were full of people, maybe it was because of Saturday. I was so happy that I was watching it with full of film lovers.

This film is taken in South Korea by Hirokazu Kore-eda and that has big meaning for Japanese film culture which seems shrinking.

The theme is 'Family' as always but the mother is big in this film more than other Kore-eda film. It was new to me because he hadn't mentioned it a lot before.

All actors were great even a small child and a baby. Kore-eda is great at directing.

The first scene with rain and stairs reminded me 'Parasite' by Bong Joon-Ho.

I enjoyed this film so much because I love Kore-eda's films but the theme was big so the story could be more spicier. All cut were beautiful and there were so many funny scenes.

It is important to tell someone 'Thank you for being born' and to give someone an umbrella.

Beauty of the Sunset
26 November 2022
The picture is colourful and so beautiful. I was attracted by the backlight and beautiful sunset so much. Importance of the colours for colour films is what I learned from this film again. This is what I felt when I watched films by Kesuke Kinoshita as well.

I don't really get the ideas of those men. They fight for the right to own black people as slaves. It was because I was watching 'Atlanta' by Donald Glover but I was surprised deference of everything even in same place.

Marriage is too early for her age in the beginning.

The battle line of the civil war was getting closer. There were so many injured soldiers when the view was opened. The reality of explosions because of not using CGI.

I like the swearing at the middle of the story.

I had avoided watching this film because of the length since I got to know this film, age of 13, but the tempo was fast and the film itself was quite enjoyable.

The sunset in the beginning, the middle and the last at Tara were beautiful so much. The feelings and will of Scarlett O'Hara emerge with the sunset.

I found all characters real even they were exaggerated characters.

From A Film Lover To All Film Lovers
6 November 2022
I watched it for Halloween with my sister and my mother who loves Jim Jarmusch.

This is a film made for fun by a film lover for film lovers.

All the messages and all the references have been seen in genre films. But it was still cool, creepy and funny. I received three big messages from this film. The first one is anti-materialism and second one is other types of irony such as MAGA. The last one is that the all films are great and fun.

All actors were so good. Although Selena Gomez and Austin Butler could have done more.

It was referencing 'Night of the Living Dead', 'Star Wars', Japanese action film or 'Kill Bill', the new type of the Western film such as 'Wild Bunch', SF and so on.

I love it so much even it was a weird film.

A fantasy by great creators
22 October 2022
The story is dark and heavy even the picture is beautiful and fairytale-like. Heaviness and darkness were covered by the power of the picture and cuteness of Haley Joel Osment.

Steven Spielberg officially took over from Stanley Kubrick and competed it. I could see trauma of their childhood, trauma of being Jewish and a bond between both of the great filmmakers. This film reminded me Japanese Manga called 'Astro Boy' by Osamu Tezuka who had connection with Kubrick. However this film didn't look like Kubrick's or Tezuka's, it literally looked like a Spielberg's film.

Angles, camerawork of the scene of a hand and big actions, direction of the scene David the main character was abandoned, shapes of 'the unknown' and so on, I felt that Spielberg created this allegorical entertainment film with all his energy. I also felt from his name on the end credit, he usually doesn't write the screenplay but he did it for this film.

The pale and bright lights made this film allegorical and romantic which was used in 'Catch Me If You Can' and 'West Side Story'.

Cutbacks of 'making love' and 'destroying love' were really good.

Generally their mother could be the absolute existence for boys. There are men who couldn't get out of the phase. John Lennon is one of those people and I think Spielberg too according to his background of growth. A mother was more important than a father in his other films and this film too.

The place a boy who desired his mother's love, reached in the end, was beautiful but ruthless and heartrending.

Jude Law was so sexy.

IT LOOKS MONSTER PANIC FILM BUT...
20 October 2022
I KNEW BUT I WAS SURPRISED BONG JOON-HO'S SKILLS OF MAKING FILMS. THIS FILM LOOKED A MONSTER FILM BUT INCLUDED SOUTH KOREAN SOCIAL ISSUES FROM THE TIME TO NOW EX. POLLUTION, THE WEALTH GAP, THE SCARCITY OF EMPLOYMENT, MERITOCRACY AND ABUSES OF PUBLIC POWER.

THE CUT OF A BURNING FLAG REMINDED ME THE LAST CUT OF 'JURASSIC PARK', IT MEANS THIS FILM COULD END THAT CUT BUT BONG ROOM-HO DIDN'T FINISH IT THERE. HE PUT AN ODD EPILOGUE. GANG-DOO DIDN'T CHANGE HIMSELF EVEN AFTER THE INCIDENT, OR I COULD SAY HE COULDN'T AND HE WAS LEFT BEHIND AT THE BANK ALONE.

I NEVER GOT BORED BECAUSE OF ACTING BY SONG KANG-HO, PARK HAE-IL AND BYUN HEE-BONG. I HAD NEVER SEEN BAE DOONA AND I LIKE HER WHO DIDN'T SHOW WHAT SHE THOUGHT. DOING ARCHERY WITH FIRE OF CLIMAX WAS SO COOL. KO SUNG WHO ACTED HYUN-SEO WAS SMART, BRAVE, CUTE AND GREAT.

A HEAD OF A BOAR ON THE WALL IN A SMALL ROOM WAS SCARY. THE CAMERA WORKS OF THE FIRST ATTACK SCENE WAS AMAZING. THE CUT OF HANDS WAS GREAT. WHILE THE MONSTER WAS ASLEEP, HYUN-SO TRIED TO ESCAPE BUT SHE SUDDENLY STOPED CLIMBING AND SHE RELEASED HER HOLD OF THE ROPE BUT SHE DIDN'T FALL BECAUSE... THE VISUAL OF THE MONSTER WAS REALLY CREEPY. I HATE THE SCENE OF THE MONSTER THROWING UP SKULLS AND SKELETONS AND I COULDN'T STOP SCREAMING.

A Beautiful Film
20 October 2022
I had watched 'The Da Vinci Code' and 'Solo: A Star Wars Story' directed by Ron Howard and I didn't like them and I don't even remember them properly.

My friend who is a reliable big film fan, recommended me to watch 'A Beautiful Mind' and I watched it. My conclusion is 'She was right'.

I found this film quite refined. The way of showing the season changing, the lighting, minimum drama and specially the acting were great.

The light was based on the warm colours and it was soft.

This film could have been more dramatic or an inspiration porn but it was controlled and quite effective, such as the scene of bathing baby. The way of using water was quite good. The windows were important characters in this film. The calculation scene at a base was cool. The camera was going around John Nash the main character and numbers on a board flickered. At his office there were so many magazines and papers. I think 'Sherlock' referenced this film.

Russell Crowe was amazing in this film. He acted from a youth to an old man. The other actors were also great.

I cried at the climax which was the scene of pens.

It was beautiful.

Nope (2022)
So much fun including big issues
18 October 2022
I could mention and deliberate about hommage to Steven Spielberg, hommage to Japanese Anime, the shoe and the UPA a.k.a. UFO which was metaphor of eyes, the god and a vagina. Of course I got the messages 'Obsession and exploitation of spectacles' and 'avenge by species who was discriminated' by Jordan Peele. However I enjoyed this film as an entertainment so much.

This film included the power, interest, cinematic pleasure called sky, fun of doing Western in 2022. There were so much things I could have mentioned but they have been already mentioned. And my thought of this film is; it was really strange in a good way but was so interesting!

My Small Land (2022)
Beautiful and Painful
12 October 2022
I desire everyone to watch it specially if you are Japanese.

It was good as a family film and a teenager film. I couldn't stop my tears several times.

The difference of what she did in front of mirror in the beginning and the last cut was so beautiful and hopeful.

The tree reminded me 'Leon: The Professional' a bit in the end.

The way of using red on the main character's hand.

The way of shooting was natural as Hirokazu Koreeda does which was beautiful. I could felt everything from the screen even smell, tastes of the foods, temperature and so on.

Acting was also great. The way of the father talks, character of Sota who's shy and kind, the boss of the convenience store, Sota's mother and so on. Everyone acted naturally and was great. Specially Lina Arashi who acted Sarya the main character. A lot of small uncomfortableness comes over her such as discrimination, micro aggression, unreasonable laws, her sister fitting to Japan, Kurds community and so on. I was really scared that if she was broken. I just wished good life for her.

The music by Roth Bart Baron matched the film and was really good. It was soft and kind but also cool and sometimes ugly.

Cloths were so cute too.

I have been to the other country as an 'alian' and have been to a small room for suspicious people and I know that it is hopeless and scary. Those experiences made me really sensitive to this film.

I could say Japan is still fine if you can make this kind of films but not only that. I shame my selfishness that I didn't vote two Japanese elections last one year. Even I wasn't in Japan and the procedures are complicated, I could have done it because I had the right. There are people in Japan who are trying to live there.

I didn't even know about Kurds at all till I knew this film.

Micro aggression is happening everywhere for everyone. People doing it, don't realise and they sometimes think it as kindness rather than harming. Luckily I think I have never got it but it was so much painful for me.

There are more problems in this film but what I can write about is this.

This film was painful and tough but really beautiful.

Do Revenge (2022)
Entertaining Genre Film
12 October 2022
In a way this is a genre film of revenge but this is a feminism film. There so many feminism films recently and they became a genre. I think it is a good thing. In that genre there are sub genres. And this genre matches well for the other genres such as revenge, horror and so on. I found there were too much elements in this film such as sisterhood, romantic comedy, the caste of the school and so on. There are a lot of films changing its genre like 'Promising Young Woman' but 'Do Revenge' is not balanced enough.

However each parts were quite well done as a genre film specially the first half and the end credits.

In the beginning, a balloon with Drea's face exploded and I found that she would be dragged down and it happened. However it also meant... I like the venomous and artificial colours in this film.

I enjoyed this film as an entertaining genre film made by prize pupil.

Magic of Refn, Orientalism
11 October 2022
When I watched 'Drive' with my best friend, I fell in love with Nicolas Winding Refn's film style and it is my favourite film. I desired to watch at a cinema.

Then I found a kind of film festival of Refn in Tokyo. I wanted to try other films by him so I went there and I chose 'Only God Forgives' which was more weird than 'Drive' in a good way. I thought it was easier than early filmography because it was after 'Drive' and also Ryan Gosling was in it. I was totally wrong. There were so much gore scenes which I could not look at properly. I literally put my hands in front of my eyes. I watched 'Drive' after 'Only God Forgives' that day and it was so cool but I found that it was also really painful. The difference between those two is how tense it is, there were so many beautiful and cool shots in 'Drive'. The scenes of Carey Mulligun are cool but also beautiful, lovely and heartwarming even there were shocking violence scenes.

Then, this film, 'Only God Forgives'. It is located in Thailand which has magical oriental atmosphere. I had watched so many 'wrong' descriptions of Asia which made me uncomfortable. However in this film the magical orientalism works well mysteriously. I am not quite sure if it was 'right' description of Thailand but the cinematic magic of Refn's style. And Thailand made this film so intense as a character of this film.

This film includes something mysterious all over the location as well as theme the god and the mother. Specially a mother for son is quite big in this film. In this film, the mother is absolute existence for the main character which is for all the men as well as for the director. She is the god in a way.

Chang thinks himself a god. In the end, the main character was convicted and he also also received forgiveness.

It was beautiful, painful, poetic and cool but not difficult.

I found similarity between Refn and Kar-Wai Wong, for example vibe and the way of shooting the sensual scenes.

I like Refn's films but he's so strange.

It was literally Resurrected!
28 September 2022
I should have watched it in cinema.

I was wondering the meaning of making new one of 'The Matrix' but I know there was big meaning.

I was moved that the matrix was recognised as something good and it was recreated by their hands instead of running from it and fighting against it. Because the first one was received in a different way of Wachowski sister's intentions.

I enjoyed enough even I just re-watched first one before watching 'Resurrections'. Although the action wasn't so new compare to the first one, it was exactly 'The Matrix' for example the Setting of the story, what they say and the message it has. It could be impossible if it wasn't 'The Matrix'.

What they wanted to say wasn't conspiracy theories, of course. It was 'Being real one's self' which wasn't big as the world but which was quite personal.

It was funny, cute and less gross which were new.

Metropolis (1927)
An allegorical great science fiction
25 September 2022
Even I didn't know which part was great at this time I found it amazing because of the huge setting, so many extras, the scientific scene and the spectacular story which including the religion, the satire and so on. However the way of the storytelling is quite classic. And the most amazing thing is that Fritz Lang tells this huge story with silent film. And this wasn't presented by Hollywood.

I had watched some films around 1920s such as Charlie Chaplin films, Buster Keaton films and 'Battleship Potyomkin' but this is the different genre and different level of the greatness.

This is absolutely one of the historically important film. There are some historically important but boring films and this is not.

Not only just the technique, the theme is alive in a lot of films nowadays.

C'mon C'mon (2021)
I don't know why but I cried
25 September 2022
Few months ago, I was in Detroit and New York where this film was shot. Some shots reminded me of the places I went and the people I was with. Even there were some places that we went in this film.

I love this type of film for example this film or Noah Baumbach films.

It was monochrome and was beautiful. There were so many informations by lines in this film so it was good to reduce the visual informations. Making it in monochrome removes contemporaneousness from the film and it adds the persuasion of the time in this film instead. For example the interview of the children which was documentary part, they will be adults some point but what they talked in this film never changes and the next generation could sympathise with them. Or they die some point as a boy died before this film was finished making.

It wasn't even just kids and adults. It could work two adults. It is harder to talk about their own emotions for adults but we have to do it to understand each other. Even it's not enough, you could scream but check each other's face after that.

I knew it but Joaquin Phoenix is a really great actor. And Woody Norman was so cute and he acted so well.

I don't know why but I cried at the scene of 'C'mon, c'mon' and screaming.

Thinking of other people, thinking about future, thinking to emotions and speaking about them is not easy but Mike Mills tells the story about it carefully. That's we have to try, c'mon c'mon.

I was caught by wonderful fascinations of film.

The way of becoming real Spider-Man
25 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
It wasn't cinematic except for the last part at the donut's place. I would say it was one of the best scenes in MCU history. However, I found some parts are opportunistic such as the death of aunt May which looked just for The Phrase. The way of shooting looked TV series.

However, every opportunistic parts and bad parts worked well in a festival called 'MCU Festival' such as 'Avengers', 'Avengers Endgame' and this film. Those parts aren't allowed to do in normal films but MCU. In that way, MCU is hard to compare to the other films because it made completely different original culture.

Spider-Man is always lonely except for Jon Watts version. The 'Home' series was about 'Spider-Boy' and this film was about a boy becoming a man. Peter Has to be alone to be a hero in 'Spider-Man' somehow. And those opportunistic parts were important as initiation.

I was exited when the other characters from Sam Raimi version and Marc Webb version came out.

As I wrote in the beginning, the last part was so sad but the best. The kissing scene is a legend as Tobey Spider-Man's. After everything has done, Peter went to see his girlfriend and the best friend.

Even nobody knows him, he's still a 'friendly neighbourhood'.

Cube (1997)
One of the best solid situation thriller film
19 September 2022
I think it was the first time to watch Canadian film ever.

This is one of the best films of a genre called 'Solid Situation Thriller' such as 'Saw'. And most of the cult films like this film and 'Saw' are low budget but look so cool and blow your mind.

'Cube' doesn't have hard gore scenes like 'Saw' has, but people are more scary than the trick and stuff.

Pre-title was great. It convinces the audiences the situation with a skin head guy becoming cubes, and audiences are also in the cube with the characters when they realise. The film shakes their thoughts with the cube by cube.

The music and the way of camera moving let me feel disturbed a lot. The designs of the cubes and trap were so cool and artificial, and they were working effectively.

I like this kind of last cut as hopeful ending but I didn't find it good ending.

The Mist (2007)
A sadistic film I ever watched
19 September 2022
I don't really know why I watched this film after watching 'Cube'. This is a famous film as a disturbing ending film. So I got mentally ready to watch it but I wasn't. I wasn't considering other parts. That was my problem but I think Frank Darabont the director is sadist since he changed the ending worse.

The ending was disturbing mentally but there were visually worse parts such as huge bugs, a girl got mosquito bite and so on. I don't really scream even if it's scary but this one. I couldn't stop screaming all the time and this was the second time since 'The Shining'. I could bear the gore scenes but not those creepy creatures.

The story was built quite well and that point makes me bad because I was convinced enough and was in the story completely. I couldn't get out of that.

This kind of films show us a minimised society and this film was also that type of film. The place of setting is a super market in a country side so there are many people and this film shows us minimised but a bigger society such as a religious woman, a lawyer from a city and an old couple.

The main character makes a decision in a situation by situation, and the place he reaching is... There was a problem of masculinity too.

It was interesting so much but I had never been glad that I didn't watch any films in cinema till I watched it. I wouldn't watch it again in a good way.

I like what Kinji Fukasaku wanted to do but...
14 September 2022
I love the first 'Battle Royale' as a dystopia SF which is a metaphor of the reality of Japan. It was violent, painful, powerful, creepy and funny. I don't really prefer to watch violent films a lot but 'BR' because of the director Kinji Fukasaku who is one of the Japanese great filmmakers. He made so many violent films which is based on his childhood experience during the Second World War. The trauma made his films profound.

If you were in this situation, there are three choices, killing others, killing yourself or killing the people who made the system. Kinji Fukasaku mainly mentioned the first choice and he also mentioned the second choice but not the third one. The third choice is the main theme of this film and the setting had been expanded from just Japan to the other countries.

It could be a good film but Fukasaku die while making this film sadly. His son directed the rest of it. So this film is a bit rough, ex. The characters don't have strong personality as the first one and, the story is less interesting and opportunism.

I would recommend the first 'BR' to the people who like 'The Hunger Games'.

Fallen Angels (1995)
One of my best!
13 September 2022
It was the first film that I watched in Japan since I came.

I went to Tokyo and I was overwhelmed of too much informations, ugly buildings which is a good part of Japan, grumpy people and so on. I wanted to run away from them and jumped into a cinema. The cinema was showing this film which I had been wanting to watch because it's my friend's favorite film.

Honestly, I still don't really know the reason why but I immediately loved this film even setting and every single characters were so weird and weren't realistic.

I usually watch film with using my brain so I started to watch it as usual. In the beginning, the drumming and the base came into this film with same rhythm of the sound of a train going which was so cool. The title was shown less than a second. That was only what I could get and the director Wong Kar-Wai drudged me into the dreamy and fantastic world.

Every single cuts, sequences, actions, casts and music were cool, beautiful, splendid and perfect. It's so artistic and aesthetic but so funny and I laughed so much. I like this kind of subjective fantasy so much. This film has quite strong fetishistic fascination.

There are some films that I can watch forever and this is one of those films. I even want to be this film!

I cannot stop listening 'Only You' by The Flying Pickets which is the song in the last scene.

The Guilty (2021)
So we'll done one situation film
12 September 2022
I didn't know that Denmark has big industry of film. Nicolas Winding Refn the director of 'Drive', Mads Mikkelsen, Lars Von Trier and so on. I watched American version but is based on a Danish film.

Perhaps there are this type of the suspense story which is people calling to someone to solve a case without going out. But I had never watched any film like this so it was so interesting and fresh for me and it makes the story more suspenseful and sophisticated. Not only that, in this film, most of the characters never come out in front of cameras and all you can see is just a man calling and he never goes out of a place.

From the first call the situation changes again and again, which goes with his personal situation and the big fire in California. It kept the tense atmosphere.

The setting is so simple and this film could be boring but it wasn't even just a man calling to people. The main character never goes out so the camera works are limited but it was elaborate. I like the shots over a phone lamp.

Jake Gyllenhaal was acting really well. His actions, facial expression and everything made this film tense a lot too. I could clearly imagine what's happening at the other side of the phone which was really cool and was because of his every single actions.

The cameras never shoot outside except for the beginning and the ending. In the beginning it are long shots of the city and a big fire with a lot of calls which makes audiences tense. But the ending, the long shot of outside echos to the opening and it lets audiences release from it.

The red of the outside, and the red of the lamp for connecting in and out, was unforgettable.

It was so well done.

It was so Japan in a good and a bad way for me
9 September 2022
It was one of weird experiences watching this film with not Japanese people. There are so many American films with wrong impression of Japan ex. Fast and Furious series, Kill Bill series, OO7 You Only Live Twice, Black Rain and so on, and those films make me feel awkward but recently I got used it. However Sophia Coppola filmed Tokyo as it was and without exaggeration which made me feel embarrassing even though I knew that she filmed weird parts of Japan and it was twenty years ago. There were some parts that I could relate such as 'R' and 'L'. Honestly, I struggled to enjoy it because of those scenes. I was used to be upset about weird Japan in American films but I realised that real Japan in American films is worse.

And I couldn't enjoy it in a way because I understand both English and Japanese so it was hard for me to be 'lost' in this wonder land as Bob Harris the main character.

However, I don't think it was the important part of this film, the point is that two lonely people meeting in totally different country. In that way, this film was really well done and beautiful. Although there were unnecessary distractions for me and I couldn't concentrate enough, there was a big important and beautiful sort of Japan-ish part was in this film, which was how they found each other and how they communed without hugging or even a lot of words.

Scarlett Johansson were really young but her acting was so good.

Views of Japan in this film were so cool and beautiful not in a cyberpunk way which was grateful.

Few days ago, I went to Tokyo for the first time in a while and I was completely lost in there. I got so much culture shock as the characters got in this film.

Don't watch it!
30 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The base novel is one of my favourite series and I read whole series even I don't read books a lot.

I had heard it was crappy when this film was released, then I didn't watch it. In some reason I watched it today.

I really understand what they wanted to do but it doesn't reach what they wanted to.

There were a lot of information in the novel and I understand that they had to pick up the core of the story but it was just the core or even less. It was too obvious that Luke was the thief because there's no one else suspicious. There was Dionysos who was suspicious in the novel.

Every single acting and direction were really cheesy.

I don't prefer to watch this kind of fantasy film and 'Harry Potter' series is not my thing but I found that 'Harry Potter' is great enough to convince the fantastic world by the story, CGI, acting, direction and so on.

Don't use '&' in the title, it makes this film worse.

What's wrong with Chris Columbus? I thought he is one of the good filmmakers because he directed first two 'Harry Potter' series and 'Home Alone' series, and he wrote the great screenplay for 'Gremlin'.

I hope the new TV series on Disney+ next year will be a good one.
