Breaking Bad: Fly (2010)
People either overrate or underrate this episode a lot
This episode it's not fantastic but not bad either.
Some people think this is one if not the best episode of Breaking Bad (wtf how). I can see why people might like it, but how is this comparable to absolute masterpieces of episodes like Ozymandias, Felina, Face Off, Crawl Space...
Other people think it's the worst thing in the world.
I'm in between, for me, it's just an ok episode.
It has some funny scenes and some cool symbolisms (only reason I'm giving it an 8) but that's it.
It's just 45 minutes of Walt and Jesse in the same place making an episode that's a bit boring overall.
For being a filler episode it's pretty good but Walt's regrets about Jane don't deserve a whole episode.
It's not the worst episode of all time but, let's be real, it isn't even close to the best. (Not even top 30 IMO)
Better Call Saul: Saul Gone (2022)
Good, but not even close Breaking Bad's Felina.
A good but a bit unsatisfying ending that does the job.
I really don't get the people who say BCS is better than BB. Maybe the cinematography is better since the directors have more experience, yes. And the writting is about the same but maybe is even better in BCS. But that's it. Breaking Bad still has the most memorable moments in the franchise. BCS has its moments but not as many nor as good as BB's.
Breaking Bad is so much more interesting overall and has probably the best ending in television history. This ending, while still being good, it's not on the same level.
I still like BCS a lot, it's excellent. But Breaking Bad is a timeless masterpiece that I don't think will be ever topped (maybe exagerated a bit there but you get the point).
Some people dislike this show, and give negative reviews, you know why? Because it's not even close to Breaking Bad, and BB fans come here expecting the same level and this show it's not on that level so they hate it.
I'm in between. I love this show but BB is still so much better.
I think in terms of score I would give:
Breaking Bad a 9.9/10 (not perfect but almost, since there's some episodes that drag a bit)
Better Call Saul 9.4/10 (brilliant, but not as good)
My final thoughts are that maybe BCS has an overall higher quality, but Breaking Bad's plot is much better and that plot leads to some of the best moments in television history. Like the final scene in s4e11 "Crawl Space", what a masterpiece of a scene.
PD: I used "not even close to" a lot. That's wrong, Better Call Saul is close to Breaking Bad actually. But im lazy to correct it.
(Except for the finale, Breaking Bad's is not even comparable to this).
Il buono, il brutto, il cattivo (1966)
Amazingly good
I decided to watch this movie after seeing the positive reviews of it. I had very high hopes for it and it didn't dissapoint. I loved it.
The cinematography, the acting, the main characters, the music, the plot. Everything is great. And that final scene is pure gold. It's peak cinema.
The movie is pretty long, but I assure you it's worth to watch the whole movie just for that final scene alone. It's that good. And it's not even boring, in fact, it's very entertaining the whole way through.
Definitely more than just a worth-to-watch movie even if you are not a fan of westerns.
Better Call Saul: Point and Shoot (2022)
Great overall episode, but...
This episode is very intense and, as always, has great cinematography. It has a dark tone and I love the atmosphere that it has.
The only issue is; Lalo. Lalo is such a great character and one of the best villians of the franchise. I already expected he would die in BCS but I had expected his death to be executed in an epic and satisfying way, just like Gus' in BB which is super iconic and has been engraved in my memory since I saw it.
Well, Lalo's death was kind of a letdown for me. Gus had a cool speech (but nowhere close to Nacho's legendary monologue in Rock and Hard Place) and then he acted quick to kill Lalo (who was a bit supid in that scene, he should have killed Gus when he could). Then Lalo was hurt in the ground and just laughed a bit and died. That wasn't satisfying or mind blowing at all. It's not bad either, but I expected much more from such a great character.
9.4/10 (Would be WAY higher if Lalo's death wasn't so mediocre.)
