I watched this a while ago and quickly have it a high star rating. I enjoyed it tremendously. It came at a time when like how all the news is bad and this took me to a place where I had fun and felt all the feels. I cared about ALL the characters. I binged in on a work night. Started googling right away when the next season would show up and eventually stopped looking. Today, I saw it was immediately not renewed right after it launched. People say it is like Stranger Things but it isn't. It has the time period in common and youth is about it. Otherwise it is an awesome graphic novel brought to life with stellar acting, beautifully filmed, and you will seriously care what happens next. What is frustrating is it wasn't given time to find its audience or marketed well enough to get the lift it needed. Even if it doesn't get picked up elsewhere, watch it anyway. You'll be sucked right in trying to figure out what's happening and the vulnerabilities of these characters is touching and real. Fun watch.

Still Not Sure What Happened Here...

First I gave it 3 stars for the opening pumpkin sequence, the initial babysitting scene and the fact that I love seeing the originals from the first Halloween. Second, this movie completely tried to weaken Michael Myers in a way that can't be attributed to an aging psychotic serial killer. Michael hides in a sewer for most of the film. That is so unlike his character to hide- it made no sense. This just didn't stay true to how this character behaved in the entire franchise. Also, the concept of the "evil" of Michael Myers being transferred to someone else brought an element to the move that was an easy go to and cheap part of the plot. For about five minutes the idea of him having a prodigy was interesting but the possibilities were soon lost in a rush to unmask and kill Michael at the end. Jamie Lee was amazing as always. I also really like seeing Kyle Richards. Super disappointed in the plot and execution of this film.

Ana de Armos is the only great thing

Ana does an amazing job playing Marilyn. Amazing. Her acting was on point and so engaging.
I realized part way through that the only reason I was watching is because Ana brought Marilyn back to life. I could absolutely feel that I was so sad but happy watching her portrait of a legend.
The movie was trying too hard to be an art film. It was only the most difficult times of her life and honestly I don't believe there was one happy time in Marilyn's life shown through the whole film. Masterbatory and excessive. Overboard with unnecessary dream or hallucination sequences that were just boring.
Watch this film if you want to see a gifted actress play Marilyn but honestly be prepared to be super depressed at the end.

Suspense from beginning to end!

First off- this movie takes place in the 80's and is done really well! I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. The kids in this movie are outstanding actors and the villain known as "The Grabber" will haunt generations. Ethan Hawk as always delivers such a great and gritty performance - he will keep you biting your nails the whole way through. Must see if you like suspense/thriller.

Best Storyline of all the seasons of Stranger Things. I couldn't stop
Watching. Season 4 has this crazy Nightmare on Elm Street vibe and it feels great to be in that environment again in a way that isn't cheesy. All the acting is great but Maya Hawke and Sadie Sink you can't stop watching. Their characters round out this cast so well. No spoilers here but the Vecna story like is pretty great. There were moments in this season that made my anxiety shoot through the roof not knowing what would happen next. The whole Hopper storyline is really well done and the Russian prison theme holds well.

Loved seeing Jennifer Garner and Mark Ruffalo share space onscreen again. Worth it for that but honestly a fun story and Ryan Reynolds's is always so relatable. He makes you laugh in this with his deadpan delivery and the whole family can watch. Really liked this.

I loved this movie. I wanted to give it a ten but think it may be that I loved revisiting the characters and story so much. This movie stands on its own and was beautifully written. Lots of excitement and love the new class of Top Guns. Honestly, I was really pleased with how Val Kilmer is included and loved seeing IceMan again. Good stuff.

Where do I start? If these people were left alone and not subjected to horrific writers it could be interesting. The narrator isn't funny- just dumb jokes that go no where. I'd love to see this without whoever is writing and see if reality stars are interesting in these situations on their own. If nothing else replace all the writers and try again. Awful.
