In from the Side (2022)
Be practical
I hope that the people who are leaving the negative reviews, aren't leaving them because the two lead characters didn't stay together in the end? I admit, it is incredibly frustrating when these queer male films reel you in with this amazing love story, having you on the edge of your seat rooting for them to stay together, only to have it all blow up in our face in the end - but that's not a legit reason to say it was a "bad" movie, at least in my opinion. This really was a beautiful love story even though it didn't work out and the fact that it didn't work out but we still got to see what the possibility of it could have been, makes this film important because it's teaching you that lesson of just be honest when a situation like this occurs. They both should have just told their partners from the beginning. They both take the blame tbh but man i was rooting for them! Ugh. The last scene where they say their goodbyes, got me a little teary eyed. It was so heart wrenching I wanted to die Omg :(. But still a good film but it definitely made me feel something.
Beach Rats (2017)
The plot/characters went NOWHERE
Very disappointed. The ending just leaves you confused because you sat there for an hour and a half and still don't know what this characters wants. The actors were decent, which is why I gave the film a 2 star rating, but that's it. Certain things were never explained at all. Also, did he and his mom have...a thing for each other or something? There was a part where she's literally staring at him through the window while he's shirtless. And then when they get back home from the dad's funeral, the mom has her leg up and is fixing her garter, he has this weird look staring at her while she's doing it. Idk. Anyway, the supporting cast was pretty useless as well. They added nothing to the story! Just a very pointless plot.
