SpongeBob SquarePants (1999)
A Great Show Brought Down By Some Awful Seasons
I would like to say that SpongeBob SquarePants was one of the best shows that aired on Nickelodeon. The general consensus is that seasons 1-3 are great, the seasons after the movie are really bad, and that the newest seasons aren't as bad, but still pretty terrible. While I'd hate for this to blend in with other reviews, I will say that seasons 1-3 contain some of the best characters, episodes, and humor of any animated series. The plots were really unique and creative. And the humor was really great. These seasons brought classic episode, after classic episode. Some notable examples being Help Wanted, Pizza Delivery, Ripped Pants (trust me), Rock Bottom, and Sweet Victory. The mid seasons (Season 5-8) are quite awful, flanderization hit the show hard. SpongeBob became awfully annoying. And Patrick became beyond, sometimes infuriatingly stupid and mean. However, I will say that the newer seasons (Seasons 9 and onwards) are starting to get the show back on track., examples being Mimic Madness and SpongeBob In randomland. Overall, this show is great! The characters are charming, and the episodes are very clever and well written. Just skip seasons like season 8 and especially season 6.
SpongeBob SquarePants: Help Wanted/Reef Blower/Tea at the Treedome (1999)
A Perfect Premiere
Help Wanted: My god. What a great first episode. It's got some really funny jokes and immediately establishes the characters, and tells you all you need to know about them. The episode doesn't overwhelm you with things that you need to remember, but it gives you just enough to make for a fantastic episode and a great introduction to the characters. 9/10.
Reef Blower: This episode is shorter than most episodes in the show, and the episode also doesn't have any spoken words, which means most of the jokes are told visually, which isn't a bad thing, because the jokes are hilarious, and it is just an overall classic episode. 8/10.
Tea at the Treedome: Once again, this episode is VERY funny, it has a lot of classic jokes that really make the episode very great, as well as being an amazing introduction to Sandy. 8/10.
Overall, this is an incredibly great bunch of episodes, with a lot of classic jokes that make this bunch of episodes into an amazing premiere.
Dragon Ball GT: Doragon bôru jîtî (1996)
Underrated, Overhated, Terrible Dub, Better Than Super?
This show is hated by a majority of Dragon Ball fans, and, as a Dragon Ball fan myself, I really don't see it. I think most of the heat is due to the dub, the Dragon Ball GT dub is a special kind of AWFUL! It has no character development whatsoever. And does this show an absolute disservice. Most people deem the Black Star Dragon Ball saga pointless, but no it has a lot of stuff the carry into the next sagas. What I love about this anime is Vegeta's character development, sure he cares about getting stronger, but surpassing Goku isn't something he is really interested in anymore. The ending is beautiful, perfect, and a great way to end the franchise. I cannot spoil too much, you simply must go watch it! Just watched the subbed version, keep yourself as far away from the dub as possible!
Horrid Henry: The Movie (2011)
A Horridly Perfect Movie
This movie is great! The comedy is amazing! And as a fan of the show this film is really, really good!
Ashton Primary School is in danger of being closed down. And Henry does somethings he'd never expect he'd have to do! Such as teaming up with Moody Margret and entering a talent contest to meet Ed Banger (Lead singer of the Killer Boy Rats, Henry's favorite band). I especially liked to part where Henry has to go on 2 Cool 4 School (One of Henry's favorite shows). In conclusion: A great treat for fans of the series, though many adults probably won't like the cartoonish action. As someone who likes to review movies based on TV shows as such, I will say that this movie delivers, both as a casual viewing, and a great treat for fans of the television series. Though, once again, most adults probably won't care for the type humor or most of the jokes.
