Slow
19 January 2024
The idea of the film is so good but didn't execute well at all, in fact I skipped through this film because of how slow and boring the storyline is. It could've been so much better if they invested more time in character arks, no one's story is explained at all or how even the estate was like that in the first place. I'm so disappointed because it had so much potential, it was really cool to see Ian wright in a film tho but at the end of the day if you're expecting "top boy" type settings that look the other way, in fact watch top boy again rather than watching this, waste of a couple hours time. If you want to watch a film similar to this but a million times better watch "shank", UK classic with a similar premise.

Could've been better

I love apocalyptic type films, but this was Mediocre at best. I'm not sure what they were trying to get at either, I'm was quite certain that this was gonna be an anti-internet type deal where technology is the enemy and will be humanity's downfall but I was left with more questions when the film finished. Interesting occurrences happen throughout with ships washing on shore and herds of deer creeping around giving off serial killer vibes but the plot could've been better. I love films like war of the worlds and world war z when family have to flee from invasion and virus's killing humanity as it shows a rush and panic from the public and makes it all exciting, however it's not displayed in this film at all, in fact I didn't even get excited once. 80% of the movie is them guessing how it all started and what's causing blackouts and planes to crash etc, causing all this build up towards this bland ending which makes you wanna bite your tongue because you wasted your time watching six people talking about stupid crap. Does have cool camera shots tho I have to admit, other than that pretty mid film.

Top Boy (2011–2023)

Amazing show with a baffling last season
11 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I've been watching top boy since summerhouse and the new seasons on Netflix were amazing and carried on the stories of dushane and sully and introduced new characters that seems most of the audience loved. However the last season was so rushed and just looks terrible in contrast to the previous seasons. First off, they introduced these Irish mafia guys and there was so much hype around that young Irish fella (don't know actors name) in the trailers but they get killed off so quickly ? It would've been interesting to see more of them throughout the season as a new enemy but what was the point ? Dushane had a heart problem that came about in season 2, maybe hinting that he had some medical problem that would come to light and be some sort of plot line but no, he somehow sprints away from feds and from sully in the last couple episodes so again, what was the point ? We don't see any of the characters again such as the crackhead undercover police, they didn't manage to get a confession out of Rueben so they just gave up ? Never saw tia again who was basically Stefs new best friend replacing ats who got killed off, would've been cool to see her reaction about Jamie's death. Vee never got revenge on lauryn or anyone about Curtiss death so they gave up as-well ? Dushane killed Jeffrey but didn't clean up the evidence and the feds where pressuring him but out off all the crimes Dushane has committed this is the one he slips up on ? Shelley was such a letdown this season, she basically asks for 2 mill to open up a string of nail shops but then gets pissed at Dushane because Lizzie and lithe stole his money, and plus we never saw her daughter again ? Everyone doesn't like the ending but I think the whole point was to show that sully always had a target on his back and that even though your "top boy" your always gonna end up dead because of the amount of enemies you make along the way, I'm glad stef didn't kill sully because he simply wasn't worth it as he knew he was gonna get killed somehow and plus you don't want to commit a murder when your that age.

Feminism over comedy
12 June 2023
This whole film has the same theme, men are trash and women are powerful. I'm all for equality etc but not when it's thrown in your face for a whole hour and a half. Some jokes were hilarious, I think the only saving grace was."Paula" and "jimmy" as i only genuinely laughed when they were on screen. This is probably Seth Rogens worst role so far, just dry and unfunny with mostly weed jokes. At the end of the day, there was no need for a sequel whatsoever, I suppose it gave a good ending for zac efrons character and his friend but other than that this film isn't going to be as memorable as the one before.

Amazing

Stephen Graham is one of the most underrated actors I've seen on a screen, he has a huge acting range and is displayed well in this film and in many other film and television shows. The film itself is filmed in one shot and is very impressive, it fits well with the busy high paced work of chefs and staff in a typical high class restaurant. This film is also a good eye opener of what goes on behind the scenes of running a restaurant and how pressuring and hard it can be on the staff working there and how it impacts everyone individually and this film displays it very well in my opinion, Couldn't take my eyes of the screen.

In this film Jonah hill plays a character that is involved in "culture" but has the same interests and personality as a teenager, liking drake and sneakers worn by pretty much every young person everywhere. Eddie Murphy has a change of pace then the usual goofy character, but he has extremist views and in todays world it's plainly fine, if he had different colour skin I doubt it would have the same comedic affect. The film is about two different cultures coming together, however it's so obsessed with race issues it's seems to create more of a divide then a sense of coming together as one, I don't think I've watched a film where they compare black and white people so much, it did have some good laughs however and can be enjoyable for some.

Brilliant

The best series ever made and it's simply a fact, there is no other series that hits the spot like BB does. The storytelling, acting and the emotional attachment to characters makes the show amazing. You'll get a recommendation for a series such as peaky blinders and game of thrones and it can be a gamble but your simply an idiot if you don't think this is not 11/10.

Pretty decent

Warning: Spoilers
First couple of seasons were entertaining and the stories were intriguing but towards the end, mainly after season 3-4, it became somewhat of a chore. Some characters were just becoming Mediocre and just felt strung along, taystees story of getting justice for Washington was getting boring, red just became receptive and the Amish girl and her friend (forgot their names) were just simply getting on my nerves. However it is an easy watch and has its good and funny moments now and again, I think it's worth a watch at least in my opinion.
