Truly a must watch
4 February 2023
I really don't know why so many "professional" critics don't like this movie, in my opinion it's a great movie and it really is one of those movies that you have to see at least once in your life.

From the beginning of the film, you can see how Zefirelli wanted to tell the important details but at the same time not to dwell so much on Francis' life before his conversion, with few flashbacks at the beginning of the film about Francis' life before the war. From the beginning there are also very beautiful scenes, like when Francis decides to go out of the window of his house to follow a little bird and realizes the wonders of nature.

Another of the points that people complain about is the script or that many of the dialogues of Francis are "religious mumbo-jumbo", I really do not know what they mean, the dialogues, although some are somewhat strange are also very good, especially those of Pope Innocent III and Francis at the end of the film, one of them is from the Pope, "In our obsession of original sin, we too often forget original innocence.".

Riz Ortelani's score and Donovan's soundtrack is also one of the good points of the movie, Donovan's songs are truly beatiful, specially the title track ("Brother Sun, Sister Moon") and "The Little Church", i haven't watched the original italian version but i have heard that Claudio Baglioni's songs are also beatiful.

To cut to the chase, the movie is wonderful in every way, the script, the scenes, the characters, the music, everything comes together to create one of the most beautiful movies I have ever seen in my life.

Magical Mystery Tour (1967 TV Movie)

Magical Strange Tour

One of the most bizarre movies in history and the most bizarre creation of the beatles, if you at least know the context of the album, it's an enjoyable movie, but watching it as a first time fan it's too bizarre, although at least it has a plot, sometimes things feel too bizarre (I remember rewinding the movie like 3 times because I thought I missed something).

Don't get carried away with its family friendly aesthetic, I don't feel the film is too recommended for under 8's, I Am The Walrus ,Blue Jay Way and the spagetthi shovel scene are too bizarre and could become disturbing without context,if you want to introduce your kids to The Beatles do it with A Hard Day's Night or Yellow Submarine.

The Best Beatles Documentary
27 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
It's the best Beatles documentary I've seen so far, I really liked how they went deep into every fact and even put in things I didn't know, although I didn't like that they didn't go into things like Yellow Submarine (the movie) and its impact on animation and pop culture and that they immediately changed from Yellow Submarine to John and Yoko getting to know each other (part that makes it impossible to watch with kids or family because the cover of Two Virgins appears, in which John and Yoko are naked), but it's too good, and I accept that I cried with the ending (Free As A Bird).

I also like it because they cover from the birth of Ringo and John (1940) to the release of Abbey Road (1969), to get to the point, 10 out of 10, any fan of The Beatles should watch it.
