A Cinderella Story: Once Upon a Song (2011)
It's 2022. Do the Cinderella gatekeepers think people are that stupid?
Apparently, the line towed, from the very first rendition, on is that the step people tell Cinderella that she is ugly. The problem is that you have to suspend belief because every actress that ever portrayed her, is beautiful. Knowing the story, this rendition makes you hold your breath for the climax. It is not a good writing. Lucy has a great voice and we are just waiting for her to sing. And that's the gist of it. Of all the 'stories', Bailee Madison's is the best. Chalk it up to writing. It's not the fault of the actresses.
The Mask (1994)
Wishful thinking
An amalgamation of elements coming together to make a successful movie. A phrase involves the word, steel, used in the movie to mean courage in the face of fear. A requirement for success in life Many have it but many more don't. That's life. That's this movie. The lead character has all the human traits. Flaws, strengths and the more honorable ones win in the end. A character name that seems to float between dark horse dc and marvel, Loki, represents all the human traits that are normally buried beneath average humans' psyche. It's about a bank robber with a full time honest job who beats a bigger bad guy who answered to a bigger bad guy, and wins the girl who wants to escape crime and a criminal, in the end. Men wrote and directed and they manage elusive successful movie making. Men really screw up the sequel. It's a shame men don't often care about writing their best for women. This movie was released in the middle of the King Of Pop's reign, so it might not have been more noticed to make the billion dollar mark bit good thing movies are preserved.
Gossip Girl (2007)
Jenny
Jenny was the most interesting character on the show. Her ingenuity in her pursuit of her occupation, was incredibly inspiring. You felt her struggle, appreciated her genius, admired her fashion and were guilt tripped by her work ethic. 10 stars for that, alone. This review and rating have nothing to do with anything else about this show.
