I feel like we needed a movie like this for 2023. As a girl who grew up with Barbies, this movie was really able to show what Barbie has been about since the very start- empowering girls and women and showing them that they can do anything. People are saying it had poor marketing, but it's a movie about Barbie, the original girl power toy? I went into this expecting what was given because of what barbie is all about. It's funny, but also hits on the hard truth women live with that people have trouble accepting as true. It serves to make people who don't go through these things on a day to day basis realize what is actually common in many people's lives. Amazing movie, brilliantly done.
