Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter (1984)
While it may not be Jason's final chapter, it is his best.
Now, to start things off I am an avid horror consumer. I love all of the classics of horror and even some newer films such as Barbarian or Scream five. This is easily the best movie in the Friday the 13th franchise. The pacing is easily some of the best the horror genre has seen in the 80's. While this movie throws me in lot's of different directions such as the overuse of sex used in this film is absurd. It felt like I wasn't watching a slasher but instead an adult film. I understand that when a person watches horror movies they aren't there for the acting but this movie has excellence actors and acting for a horror movie as everyone knows they don't tend to have as good acting as other films. When writing this review for this film it made me think of the start where they show Jason's dead body even down to good old pervy Axel. All in all this is easily the best Friday movie no further questions asked. I suppose this sort of contains spoilers do thats why I checked the box for that. Have a good film experience with this one!
Whiplash (2014)
Whiplash is quite a piece of art
Now I will never rate a film or show a 10/10 but I almost did once I finished "Whiplash". This movie is so good and I'm not even interested in instruments or band because that is what the film revolves around. My friends recommended this to me and now I see why. J. K Simmons and Miles Teller are perfect for each other. I felt that the characters really felt and meant what others were saying. I personally really enjoyed Miles character "Andrew" he has such a relatable personality to me that I feel like I could truly relate to Andrew. This is easily the best movie I've ever seen. I never got bored during this movie and never got up to go and do something else. I could easily watch the movie over and over again and I still would think this is one of the best plot lines ever. Something easily notable from the movie is the way Fletcher (J. K Simmons character) exploits Andrew to become the best musician he possibly can. Sure Fletcher might have ruined Andrews life in the short term because of all the slurs and insults he threw at them during the film he really affected Andrew in the long run to become the best person he truly can be. I also believe that the ending scene is one of the best I've personally seen. Overall amazing movie I recommend it to anyone above middle school that can really appreciate this film.
The Babadook (2014)
Genuinely Scary
I'm a very big horror movie fan and because of it I don't get scared of movies that easily the only movie besides this that actually brought fear to my eyes was "Us". This movie was directed almost perfectly and I loved the ending scene/ final act. The actors they picked in this film was amazing the child actor was perfect better than any other child actor I'd ever scene. The start of the movie was a little slow paced in my opinion but I still enjoyed some parts. The aspect of The Babadook is enough to make anyone scared to be honest. The majority of horror movie villans are easy to run away from. But the Babadook is something that sticks with you.
