Dull and Simple Plot
16 May 2012
What a very dull, long drawn out first episode. with some good editing this episode could have been shortened and maybe the pace would have picked up. The plot was simple and you could tell who did it from the very beginning. I found the characters too similar to other duos on better shows. This is "Psych" with a different title. The bickering between the 2 characters got annoying right from the start and didn't let up. Not one of USA's better shows and hopefully it will disappear to make room for something much better. I didn't understand the premise of why these 2 characters were sent to couples counseling. If they are such good detectives why not break them up and partner them with someone else.

See the original instead
16 June 2003
Not much to say other than the original that this was based on, "Charade" is 10 times better than this. Very stiff acting. Very disappointing. Thandie Newton is definitely no Audrey Hepburn. The French locales of the original are wasted in this version.

Diane Lane is a winner!!
21 January 2003
This movie is worth it just to see Diane Lane's amazing performance. She really shines in this role. This is well worth your time to see, and is a great drama to start and then turns into a suspenseful conclusion.

Huge disapppointment
21 January 2003
If you are expecting a film in the same league as previous Tom Clancy movie adaptations, then you are in for a huge disappointment. The story is difficult to follow, and the movie appears so dark. This movie finally shows that Ben Affleck can not act !! This is a horrible case of miscasting Affleck in a role that he is too young for. Try any of the other Clancy movies instead, Patriot Games etc.

A movie to think about
11 March 2002
This is a wonderful movie that gets you walking away from it afterwards and makes you think. It has a lot to say about relationships: mother/daughter, grandmother/grandchild, lovers, friends, etc.

It's well worth seeing just to see the performance of Cecilia Roth. I will be looking for other films in which she acts because she is that good! It's not an Almodovar comedy, which he did so well in "Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown", This is a bittersweet story that pulls you in.

See it, and you'll be glad you did.

What was Woody Thinking?
24 February 2002
I am a BIG fan of Woody Allen movies, but this has to be the biggest disappointment in his large list of films. It is a plot we've seen before so many times, in so many other better movies. We are supposed to believe a love interest in a 60-something Woody Allen and a 30-something Helen Hunt ??? Such a waste of Charlize Theron. Try almost any other Allen movie. If you want something in the same genre, "Manhattan Murder Mystery" is a far netter movie.

Perfect cure for insomnia!!
24 February 2002
I can't believe that I even rented this AWFUL movie. I couldn't wait until it was over. The video's box makes it sound like a wild road trip movie, but it is a pointless, plotless, dull, boring, badly acted movie. I gave it one star, only because there isn't anything less than that. If this is the only video remaining in the video store, walk away!!!

For a better, funnier road trip movie, watch "Road Trip" !

Bounce (2000)

What were they thinking ????
24 February 2002
The plot of this movie is so difficult to believe, that I was just shaking my head as I watch the plot unfold. The pace is very slow, and you want to give "Bounce" a kick-start. If you can get over Ben Affleck's bad acting in this movie you wil see that this movie's plot has no sense of reality. Gwyneth Paltrow is wonderful as usual and is the only bright spot in this movie. I've seen other comments describing this as a "date movie". Far from it. It is depressing, and totally unbelieveable. You can do so much better with many other Affleck or Paltrow films.

Gosford Park (2001)

Be warned!!
16 February 2002
I wish I had read the comments before I went to see Gosford Park.

Everyone who commented on the difficulty in understanding the actors was absolutely correct. It's more than just the British accents, it's actors mumbling their lines, and poor sound quality overall. It was extremely difficult hearing the actors, not to mention trying to keep track of who's who. I frequently watch British films and television shows and my ears are quite familiar with British accents, so that was not the issue as some comments have mentioned. Be warned that you will be in for hard work trying to follow the storyline. I haven't been this disappointed and let-down about a movie in a long time. What a waste!
