The Mandalorian: Chapter 24: The Return (2023)
This is an action packed episode
Well, this episode doesn't have a Luke Skywalker cameo, but it is funny, full of action and it really feel like a sequel to the original trilogy, this is really a true Star Wars in all meanings. I saw some fans complaining about this episode, but after i saw it i can't really say their reviews are valid, i mean, i really had a very good time watching this episode, just like i had watching The Return Of The Jedi, maybe some deep elements like the ones from The Empire Strikes Back or like the ones from Andor are missing, but this episode remains a strong one so all i can say is to grab your kids and the rest of your relatives, even your cat and your dog and start watching this episode and you will not regret at the end, because the fun will be at the maximum level.
The Mandalorian: Chapter 23: The Spies (2023)
This is a good episode
I liked this episode and i'm glad to see the show returning to its original format, i simply loved those ships, the sets and even the action, probably the only weird thing was the musical score from the moment when *** dies, it was too girlish and too loud IMHO, it reminded me about the score from the new Dune, which gived me headaches, but that is not such a bad thing although i think the composer blew it this time. This episode is by far a very pleasant one and suitable for anybody and i know there will be a portion of the fans which will not like this one just because they hate to see a girl in the command, but i think they should learn something from the ones like me, the ex- trekkies, because we don't give a damn about the race or gender of the leading characters if what we get is something good. It is weird to see a migration of the Star Wars fans to other franchises and to see the old Star Trek fans like me taking their places, because we like tbe new shows very much and we like very much the visual continuity and the complexity of the franchise being so well preserved.
The Mandalorian: Chapter 22: Guns for Hire (2023)
Roger saved this episode
I remember i saw once an epic review for Predator, the author says Predator is the best movie ever, which is screams because of too much testosterone (in a positive way), well, this episode and even this season of Mando, excepting the Grogu's flashbacks, are sceaming from too much estrogene, i get it, they wanted a LBGT representation with Jack Black's and Lizard's characters but man, Grogu is now just a sweet puppet (can you replace him with a roger-roger droid, because they are even sweeter and even smarter ?!? ) and the story is treated with superficiality, even if the subject is good (do the droids deserve a second chance?). The visuals are spectacular but i saw much profoundity in animated series like Justice League or Batman TAS, you just can't come with something without no trace of suspance or mistery, or without a trace of a thriller movie. The only good thing from this episode were the droids, especially my favorite unlucky ones, the roger-roger battle droids. As a wannabe writer i know what is wrong there, it is the lack of mature sportive writers, i can tell you from the start this is the vision of a sedentary woman or of a middle aged man with a lower level of testosterone, i can feel this in the atmosphere of the episode and i don't want to sound like a nitpicker, i am so sorry for this, but the truth must be told before it will be too late for my favorite show. By the way, i saw the trailer for Ahsoka and even if the trailer was good, i couldn't miss the fact there is not even a single male positive character, i hope this is just a sad coincidence and nothing more.
Star Trek: Picard: Disengage (2023)
TEN STARS STAR TREK
-Do you remember the days, back in the late 90's when you were watching a great movie in prime time on television, in week-ends and you remanied facinated for hours, thinking about that movie ?...Well this is happening to me and others kijw me watching this season of Star Trek Picard, the action, the visuals, the overcomplex story and above all of that, the trek feeling are so proeminent, everthing is on the right place in this franchise after more than 20 years, just when i though this will never be possible again just try to compare this with the first season of Discovery, when we all tried to imagine the old klingons should have looked like the orcs from Discovery, man, that was so traumatic for me as an old fan, but this, this is so great, this is smething i will mever dare to dream of.cTanks for improovingcmy end if day with such an excellent hour of Star Trek content.
The Mandalorian: Chapter 21: The Pirate (2023)
A teriffic episode
The fans will love this, especially the fans of the older animated Star Wars tv series, because of a certain, yes, character which makes his debut in a live show, it is not my case although, because i never felt the Star Wars vibe when i tried to watch them, because i always thought the computer generated shows were a downgrade from Disney or Japanese style of animation (it's like comparing a cool modern battery watch with an classic or a swiss clock), but i observed the younger generations are like those more, so i don't mind this and the Star Wars vibe i like it's here, this episode remembers me about the return of the Jedi, it has action and Mando is again indestructible like the young Steven Seagal's characters, or Rambo, just the way the fans are wanting to see the main characters and everything is right again, excepting Grogu which is just a cute background character again, i mean it would have been fun to see him punching a pirate with his Force power, that was a missed opportunity but this is not such a big deal, yet.
The Mandalorian: Chapter 20: The Foundling (2023)
Bringing justice to a person
Well i can't say too much without spoiling something, but this episode brings justice to the actor who plays Jar Jar Bings, which had only problems because of his role, the fans backlash pushed him in a state of depression for many years, but, in this episode he can finally show the people he can be a very good actor, in mean he steals the episode and i trully want to thank to the creators for giving this chance to him, this mistakes was always like a dark spot on the Star Wars face, i wanted to see this for so many years, just like the rest of fandom,i know some harsh fans say Star Wars is dead but for me things like this and episodes like this one are remembering me why i like Star Wars and Mandalorian so much and for me is alive and kicking and i hope it will never end, because something better than this it doesn't exist anymore.
The Mandalorian: Chapter 19: The Convert (2023)
Mando vs Andor
I liked this episode it looks like a mix between the original films, the prequel trilogy and Andor, but i think the best way to describe this is to say it looks like a full action Andor episode with a classic Manalorian beginning and ending. Actually this is a pleasant surprise because this episode is in conttast with the first episode of the season, it has depth and no humor. The visuals are great, it reminds me about tbe ones from Andor and even Kenobi, the fighting scenes are pure Star Wars, the music is exceptional as usually and the canon of the franchise is explored once again and probably the old fans will love this.
The Mandalorian: Chapter 18: The Mines of Mandalore (2023)
This was a great episode
I don't know what the other reviewers saw, but this episode his, without no doubt one of the best episodes, i had so much fun watching it and i like the contrast with Andor or even with Kenobi because that kind of diversity makes everything more interesting. I don't know is the music score was made from somebody else, but probably is one of the thes from a Star Wars production and the visuals are flawless. I just can't wait to show this episodes to my nephews, because the greatest thing about the Mandalorian and Star Wars, in general, it is the fact that it is a joy which can be shared with anybody, even with the young ones, the pupils and only for this this deserves more than 7 or 8 or even 9 stars, this is a thing where another franchise like Game of thrones will never be capable to succeed whitout loosing some standards.
The Mandalorian: Chapter 17: The Apostate (2023)
The fun(k) begins !!!
Probably this was the happiest half of an hour from this year thanks to Mando and baby Yoda and this is a great time for us, the Star Wars fans. This episode, although its size is the one of a cartoon episode, is full of non stop action and excellent vfx which are better than the Marvel's movies from the present. I've heard some complains about the lack of explantion of Grogu's return from Boba Fett, but you know ,this is actually a very common thing in a tv series, i remember when the first X-files movie came out, it was placed between two seasons of the tv show, or, let' s not forget the Arrow-verse, where the biggest cross-overs where splitted between multiple tv series, i don't remember anybody complaining about that, au contraire, it was something highly regarded by the fans. This show becomes better and better with each season and i hope it will reach up to 10 seasons, just like Stargate SG-1 did ,without loosing nothing from the quality. I must say, i like the tonal difference betwenn this new Star Wars tv series, it is a good way to keep us, the fans, very excited.
Star Trek: Picard: The Next Generation (2023)
Even better than the real thing
First, i want to say i like Strange New World, but, i swear to Almighty God, the first thing i crossed my mind after i saw this episode was, i cannot belive this is a fake trek (new trek era), it looks even better than the many of the movies, and it feels just like Star Trek used to be, but even better, it is dark enough and full with funny moments, good writing and good acting and for the first time, the uniforms and the sets don't look like something cheap, made just to please the old fans and grab quick money. Probably the only thing i miss is La Sirena, Rios and Elnor, which were more pleasant than Raffi. I've heard this season is great, from the reviews of the most ruff fans who had the opportunity to saw the whole season and believe me, they cried when they made the reviews and from what i've heard there are even more good episodes in this season. Maybe this is the renaissance of the real Star Trek we used to love.
