A delightful series and excellent book adaptation
14 August 2023
Both S1 & S2 are a delight. Gaiman has very successfully brought his and Prachett's book to life on the screen.

Warm, funny family comedy but with plenty of drama and more than a dash of heartbreak. The acting is tremendous with the two leads (an angel played by Michael Sheen) and demon (played by David Tennant) having great chemistry together. There is also an excellent supporting cast, many of which will be familiar to a British audience. The costumes, music and sets are all really good - a treat for Queen fans.

I only wish there were more big hearted shows on TV like this. A must watch - bring on S3!

Shadow and Bone (2021–2023)

Season 1 was really good, season 2 okay
4 April 2023
I really enjoyed season 1 but season 2 was just a bit too messy with too many characters and too much plot! While that sounds good it was actually a bit confusing as to who was who and what the different story and character arcs were. By far the best thing about the show were the Crows and I do hope they get a spin off series to themselves. They were the most interesting characters with the best dynamics. Other than the Crows the actors in the rest of the show were fine but they - alongside their story arc - felt a bit generic fantasy and I must admit to getting a bit bored. All that said it's a fun watch overall and I hope that there is a season 3 to conclude the shadow & bone part of the show and I 100% hope that there is a Crows spin off with Kaz and his crew.

GREAT FUN SPOOKY SHOW - HOPE THEY MAKE A SEASON 2
18 February 2023
Watched this with my husband (both in our 40s) and we really enjoyed it. Binged watched it in a weekend in fact. Its got great sword fighting, top acting, great chemistry between the leads, found family, slow burn romance, lots of action - all set to a brill soundtrack. Also, its really refreshing to see a British made and set production on Netflix. I highly recommend. PS the books it is based on are great too and it is pretty faithful to the books so if you like the books I think you will enjoy this, which covers the first two books. I just hope that netflix make a second season and allows the show to develop and spread its wings while it covers books 3-5.
