This is an interesting story about the life of Princess Elizabeth during the reign of her younger brother, Edward VI. The plot focuses on the many political and romantic changes at the Tudor court, which young Elizabeth must learn to navigate. The acting is convincing, as well as the writing, although the language is often crude. The set design is not as attractive as in some other series about this period, but it adds to the realistic feel. Some parts of the story may need a certain level of prior knowledge of the Tudor history. The end of the final episode is left open, and this series shows enough promise for at least one more season to show the viewers how the title character truly becomes Elizabeth.
