Gilmore Girls: That Damn Donna Reed (2001)
Nice, but some observations
Nice episode, but some things bother me with these Gilmore Girls and other aspects annoy me. How can a hotel manager be away from her own inn so often en so long? How can a cook like Sookie be 'out of office' so often. And when she is in, she should wear something to cover her long hair and not a fancy bandana. The kitchen by the way that does not look like a big, clean hotel kitchen at all. Why does Lorelai have to shout so loud all the time? Why does she always talk during movies, musical performances, lectures where everyone else is silent like they should? She's an embarrasment to her daughter time and time again. The stories are nice, the dialogues are a bit too smart too often but sharp and some of the other characters deserve some development.
Virgin River: Blown Away (2020)
Nice episode but that bar
Why is Jack never working in his own bar? He has time to check out on Mel as if he were a stalker, time to drive her around, to look for a house, to get involved in the Calvin business, to visit his ex who seems to be pregnant with twins but it doesn't show. When he goes to his place of work it is only to pour himself a cup of coffee or get breakfast for the mrs. He hardly ever works at all and lets Preacher do all the stuff. I'm getting a bit fed up with his character. And am I the only one who noticed that between season 1 and 2 the bar is suddenly much closer to the river, has a big waterside terrace? I like watching this show as a sort of ambient 'almost time for bed' kinda show. But the bar and it's owner...not so much.
