Fallout: The End (2024)
Season 1, Episode 1
8/10
An interesting start
11 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
As a fan of the games, I was so excited to watch and see how the show turned out. The trailers have looked amazing so far.

The first episode really helps to put the world into prospective from many different points of view. Throughout we are introduced to different characters that we will continue to follow throughout the series.

From the beginning we are introduced to Lucy who lives in one of the vaults. She's never seen the outside and the chaos created many years ago.

It shows really well the severity of there situation being locked in a vault and how the lack of communication is lost between vaults. Due to the situation they have shortages of food that quickly leads to the loss of live. It's a fine balance.

It also shows the raids the vault face and how dangerous they can be. Facing the unknown from the outside world, raiders what anything and everything that can help and aren't scared to take a life.

We watch as Lucy's life is quickly turned upside down and she now needs to face the outside alone to find her father and maybe more about her past.

Maximum is the next character we are introduced too.

Maximum is training with the Brotherhood of steel, we see how he was picked up very young and wants revenge on the people that hurt him even if it goes against his softer personality.

This also mirrors a different way of living compared to the vault. This life is rough and not as sheltered as the vault. It's tough to survive with people stealing food and even hurting one another.

Finally we meet The ghoul, who is a Mutant in this world. This heavily shows the consequences of the environment now and how badly the radiation has effected the this part of the world.

It will be great to learn more about the characters.

For the first episode I found it really enjoyable. It was a great way to introduce different characters to the audience and show us a little about them

I feel it also really captured the aesthetic of the world amazingly, Flfrom the use of pitboys to jet. I can't wait to continue watching.

Elemental (2023)

Beautiful animation
15 November 2023
Elementals is set in a city filled with different kinds of elements. However, the city isn't really built for the element fire and this causes problems for our main character Ember.

Elementals shows the pressures that we put on ourselves and how we compare ourselves to others. Throughout the movie we see how Ember tries to control her anger, but only when she accepts what she is truly angry about can she control it.

Ember meets Wade a water element and eventually the two begin to fall for one another. Tis is forbidden as water can put out fire but no one truly knows what will happen if the two get close.

We are able to see how much Ember loves her family and how much she wants to make him proud. Ember faces losing herself and what she truly wants to make her father proud. I feel the storyline is very relatable for so many people. It was enjoyable to watch Ember grow throughout the movie and truly become herself.

Overall I really enjoyed the movie. I was pleasantly surprised because I didn't feel it was advertised very well. Its a good movie for the whole family.

Fine, not great.
15 November 2023
Under the boardwalk follows a hermit crab named Armen. Armen suffers with anxiety and socialising due to his past, but one day he must face these fears to make it back home.

We follow Armen and his friends on separate adventures throughout the movie. We lean that there are land crabs and water crabs who dont seem to get on but overtime Armen falls in love even though its forbidden.

Throughout the movie we are able to see Armen face his fear and grow out of his shell. Armen uses his new found strength to save and protect to others around him.

As the movie is based on hermit crabs everything is on a very small scale and I felt it got alittle lost at parts. The animation is nice and smooth. There are a few songs in the movie too that seem quite silly and just seem to be in the movie for extra time.

Overall the movie is fine but nothing amazing. I dont think Id watch it again.

Magical story about family and acceptance
14 November 2023
Encanto follows Mirabel a girls from a family filled with special gifts as she tried to save the powers and gain acceptance from her family.

As always with Disney the animation has some beautiful effects. The lighting is perfect in the shots with bright vibrant colours. However the tone shift to more dull colours in the sad moments.

Throughout the movie there are many catchy songs to sing along with too.

The character from the family are all relatable in someway. They each struggle with things that I can see in my own daily life. This makes me route for the characters and the changes they face throughout the movie.

The movie really makes you feel good by the end and is just enjoyable to watch.

Luck (I) (2022)

Light headed fun.
14 November 2023
This movies is a light hearted adventure that has a beautiful animation style.

The movie follows the main character who seems to be naturally unlucky and often has bad things happen. Even though this is the case she always makes the best of the situation.

The main character finds herself in the land of luck. The movie becomes a little confusing as there is good and bad luck but these are also places. Sometime it dosent come across well in the dialog.

The characters in the movie are fun and represent both good and back luck. For example a rabbits foot is considered lucky and rabbits can be found in good luck land.

I really enjoyed watching the characters grow and build new relationships with one another. It's a movie for the whole family.

The Collector (I) (2009)

Thrilling movie that has you routing for the main character
13 November 2023
This movie follows the main character through daily life, we see him working hard to provide for his daughter only to find out they have some struggles in life and this leads him down the path of stealing. Unfortunately, this event leads to him being trapped in a home with a killer.

The movie is absolutely thrilling. From the moment we find out there is another person In the home I could help thinking "what would you even do?"

The movies has some amazing shots too. There is a Top down camera angle during a scene that shows the separation of the house amazingly and really helps to build suspense as you know the killer is close by.

The killer in the movie is very creative too. He sets traps up all around the house to catch people out. Often he dosent like to kill them with these traps, just hurt and capture them for later. We find that the killer like to collect certain people buy throughout the movie we have no idea why.

As the movie goes on I found myself routing more and more for the main character. He was brave and willing to risk his life to help and save others. This really got my heart racing at certain points.

The ending also left me wanting to jump straight into the next movie to find out what happens next.

Disappointing and poorly written
13 November 2023
I love horror movies and I think there are many underrated movies that why I wanted to give this a try especially with the recent release of five nights and Freddys.

The movie follows a many trying to make a deal with a demon for untold riches. To give this they need to sacrifice a soul every Friday for 8 weeks. There is not much explained in the movie about Freddy, the book used to summon him or even why it has to be in a Friday so I was left with more questions than answers.

I also don't really see the connection between Freddy and the gang. Freddy looks alittle like an animatronic with glowing eye hidden behind a mask. However, the others are a clown and scarecrow. They just don't seem to fit together well and it really takes away from the movie.

Another thing I really struggled to ignore was the outfit designs. Some of the characters looks scary but this was broken with the bright white trainers and knee high socks.

Also the ending didn't seem to go anywhere either. They found a solution in how to deal with Freddy and put and end to what is happening but even with this information decided not to act upon it leaving Freddy to come back yet again.

I At the end I felt disappointed and like I had wasted my time. It's sad because it had potential to be a decent movie.

A mighty adventure
13 November 2023
This movie follows the pups on another adventure. It's a great story that shows and teaches about friendship, adventure, loyalty, loss and much more.

Firstly I have to say the animation of the movie is beautiful. The colours are bright and vibrant when the pups are on screen but shift to darker tones when the villain is presented on screen. All this combined makes for a smooth animation style.

The movie follows not only the main story but also side stores of the pups and some of the difficulties they face. This makes them very relatable, especially for the kids as they may even face the same problem like feeling left out or like they are growing slower than other kids. It's a great way to see how the pups deal with the situation and apply that to there own life.

The movie has a heavy focus on some insecurities and even shows how valuable and selfish we can be without meaning too. The movie does a good job of showing how to learn from your mistakes.

It's a fun movie for the whole family. It allows you to relax and just watch along with the adventure.

Disappointing addition to the spy kids name
10 November 2023
I grew up watching the original spy kids movies and loved them. They each had an interesting idea with good learning point about loyalty, family and even just how to have fun with imagination.

I have been open to watch the new spy kids Armageddon but I watch through the originals again too In order before writing this review. I can honestly say the movie was disappointing and very underwhelmed.

There is no relation to the original family like in the other 4 movies so they are completely new kids. However it's the parents that are spys again and the kids just like video game. The movie had a heavy focus on how much kids play games and that can be there superpower. I am personally a gamers but I found this sloppy. I have grown with games over the years and there was something terrible watching adults being unable to do anything because they can't use a game controller.

The CGI was unfortunately terrible again for a movie from 2023. The skeletons were better in the original, I honestly don't know what went wrong. There is even some sections in the movie that are copies from the original and could have been a nice Easter egg but even these scenes were disappointing and didn't really capture the same emotions from the base series.

Also I found it alittle sad watching a fully grown man fighting and beating a child. In the old movies this was done in a more tasteful manner with the parents being involved too. This often made the sides look more even and a bigger goal for the family to reach.

Overall I was left board and dissatisfied with how the series has changed. Sometimes movies should stay in the past. I will be watching the original 3 movies with my children, not this one.

A Story Of Grief, Loss and Acceptance.
22 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is a story of grief, loss and acceptance. These are all something that I am able to relate with so I found myself really engrossed with the movies and many of the scenes.

Throughout the movie, we finally learn more about Rocket and his past including the way he lost everyone he once loved. This really hits harder when we have seen Rocket stop the guardians from going into dangerous positions in previous movies because he doesn't want to lose anyone again. Rocket's past was tragic and really developed his personality.

Including Rocket's past, we also follow Quill and his grief of losing Gamora. We later learn there is an older version of Gamora who came back once the stones were sent back but I honestly think this section of the movie is poorly explored. However, we can see how much it hurts Quill to see a person who he cares so much about not even remember who he is. Throughout the movie we see Quill trying to make Gamora into something she no longer is and later accepting that she is no longer the same person.

Throughout the movie, this crew of misfits do what they do best as a family and try to protect one another. Rocket is, unfortunately, sick and needs a code from his creator. The Guardians need this code at any cost to save rocket's life. During this, the Guardians are able to see video footage of what happened to Rocket in the past and how he was treated. This show just how close Rocket and Nebula have gotten as she says this torture was worse than her own. They have such a similar story and have grown closer over the snap.

Even though Gamora does not remember her time with the Guardians she still protects Rocket no questions asked. Somewhere deep down she still has the urge to protect even if she has not accepted it yet. There is a brief moment where the Guardians lose Rocket as his heart stops. I feel this scene is some of the best acting Chris Pratt has ever done. Watching Quill scream over Rocket and refuse to lose not only another person he loves, but his best friend is heartbreaking.

Throughout this journey Rocket is able to come face to face with his creator again but this time he has his family by his side. Rocket is able to get some closure from what happened to him and even save some children and animals from facing the same fate.

There is also another villain character within the movie named Adam. Unfortunately, I feel Adam was used more for comedic relief in a dark movie and it wasn't really needed so Adam gets lost throughout the movie and I don't really look forward to seeing him again. It's sad because I was really excited to see him in the movie.

Once the Guardians have saved the day they are able to return home and speak about what they are going to do next. Watching Rocket face his past has made Quill realise he has been running all this time and makes him want to visit home. Mantis wants to explore the world and do something for herself for once. Drax & Nebula are going to rebuild and make a safe home for the children they saved. There is even a touching moment when Nebula tells Drax he was born to be a father. Finally, Rocket takes over the Guardians with Groot by his side as always. It was hard to see the Guardians split after all this time, but you really root for the characters as they are quite relatable.

If you want an action-packed movie with a sad but heartwarming story about a family of misfits who have found one another and will always protect one another. Then I would highly recommend this movie.

Re/Member (2022)
6/10
Interesting back story with a few drop-off points.
5 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Re/member follows a group of students that ordinarily wouldn't spend time with one another. We are able to see this during the first day. All of the students are aware of one another but don't stand up for each other against bullies. It's interesting how and why fate brings these students together.

One night they all wake up back at the school and are forced into playing a game. At first, they don't understand what is happening and are hunted down by a demon child. These scenes are filled with gore as the students are killed off in many ways. After the students are hunted by the demon child they wake up in bed but the same day is repeated.

Luckily the students are able to find some information online about what is happening and know they need to find the missing body parts of the demon girl to stop the attacks. This means that the night will repeat over and over until they are able to complete the task. During this time these random students become very close friends, they even begin to realise they were all chosen because they were lonely before.

Each night the students come up with a plan to search different parts of the school. Unfortunately, the nights began to lose me a little as they don't seem to try and help one another when being attacked, they only come up with a plan to trap the demon girl near the end. The student often make stupid moves and go their own individual ways.

Eventually, the girl and her teddy become one monster to hunt down the students. This design on this is terrible and made me laugh at parts. This pulled me out of the story. It even develops to the monster eating some of the students but they then are forgotten about by everyone the next day. The student also don't rush to get themselves out of this game and it is a little distracting as it is not how you would act in this situation.

Overall I enjoyed watching this movie, it has some good ideas and features but also some terrible ones too. I think it could have been much more enjoyable if it was explained a little more clearly

Sad to say the movie is very average
5 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I am actually disappointed with my review as I was super excited about this movie, but left feeling quite disappointed.

Firstly the movie has an 18 rating so I thought great it will be filled with gore and violence as I expect from an Evil Dead movie. The gore was there but it was just missing something at some point even tried to play the more comedic style.

We start off in a cabin with 3 random people who are not explained until the end. I feel that the beginning scene was very forgettable and it could have been explained fine at the end without losing its shock value.

The story is based around two sisters (Beth & Ellie) and their children (Danny, Bridget & Kassie). It shows the challenges we all face today keeping up with family whilst working up the career ladder. It also shows how the sisters turn to one another when they are in trouble. The children see their auntie having this cool lifestyle and have a good but distant relationship with them. There is a scene in the movie that mentions the father being missing that I also think was a little irrelevant. There are many reasons Ellie could have contacted Beth without this random plot point that brought nothing to the movie.

The children are able to find the Book of the Dead sealed in a vault under the building they live in. Again I think this is a little random and not fleshed out. Danny's curiosity ends up awakening the creature allowing it to possess there mother. This then leads the family and everyone on the floor to be trapped in a hotel of terror. However, everyone else in the building is unaware of anything happening.

There are some really good action points with Ellie and Bridget at times in certain scenes where they feel really creepy. However, these are lost in some comedic plays. One that stands out is the eyeball scene. It was absolutely ridiculous and really took me out of the scene that was happening around it. As the movie progressed there were parts that just felt boring and unnecessary too.

I really wish this movie played into the 18 ratings more and actually focused on the scary. There were no jump scare moments in the movie at all and the comedic points left me hoping for more. It could have been a really good movie but it's just lacking in certain areas.

The Park (2023)
4/10
No real pot to the movie
24 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The Park is about a disease that infects Earth and kills all of the adults. For some unknown reason, it does not have an effect on children until they go through puberty, developing into adulthood.

This means after some time the children are left to look after themselves. In a state of survival, the children split into groups and hunt one another for food and water. Without any guidance, they have to learn how to survive. Because of the world they have been left in the children are very untrusting of one another and will even hurt others before thinking.

There are very few case members that we are introduced to throughout the movie. The main two are Rue & Bui who have been travelling together for some time. Eventually, they meet a girl named Kuan who is trying to rebuild an amusement park for them to have fun in until their time comes.

For some time they try to rebuild the amusement park, reactivating a water slide and the lights. They all talk about a scary story of kids in the woods who kill others and leave a blue sheet on them. These children are supposed to be the villain but you don't see them much so it is very lacklustre.

Eventually, we find out that some of the older children have removed their Larynx to cure themselves. Something changes in the Larynx during puberty that is causing the deaths so by removing it they are able to continue living. Unfortunately, this means that they are no longer able to speak.

The movie isn't bad, it's just not good either. The acting isn't the best but it's a cast of young actors so I wasn't expecting the best acting. The story doesn't seem to have a good or interesting plot or even develop much throughout the movie. The ending leaves you with even more questions than answers and doesn't even give you a glimpse of what happens next.

Nostalgic Batman
24 April 2023
Batman has been written many times and the story change from time to time but each of them brings something new and interesting to the screen.

This Batman movie is very Nostalgic for me as it was out when I was very young. I wanted to revisit it after some time and I have to say I was a little disappointed. Being able to look at this movie as an adult really pulled out sections of the movie that were not done very well.

This Batman movie has a very retro and cheesy feel to it. It really reminds me of the comic types of Batman with the dramatic POP, POW & Boom effects. Throughout the movie, there are large sections of CGI that are done poorly. I thought it might have been the time it was created but there are plenty of other movies that have put more care into these areas from the same year.

We are introduced to a few different characters in this movie. The first main villain we see is Two-Face played by Tommy Lee Jones. Unfortunately, I don't believe this role was played very well to fit the character. The character was made very 1 level with not a lot of development leaving the role quite flat.

Another villain we are introduced to is the Riddler played by Jim Carrey. This Riddler is very personalised to Jim Carrey and I don't think there is another actor out that could play the role the same way. We are also able to see how the Riddler was created in this movie. This was another area I wish was written a little better to suit the character and their personality. However, once the Riddler is on the loose the role is very fun to watch and you never know what will happen next.

We are also introduced to the making of Robin in this movie too played by Chris O'Donnell. Robin was part of a circus so this explains the acrobatic moves that help him become Batman's sidekick.

A lot of the dialogue in this movie is quite boring to listen to and does not add anything to the plot. There are large chunks of Bruce speaking with people that I just wanted to end. Unfortunately, this makes the movie feel very long and not a movie I would like to visit again.

Girl in the Closet (2023 TV Movie)
3/10
Poorly explained
19 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I wanted to enjoy this movie as it sounded very interesting. In the beginning, it says it is loosely based on a true story so I thought it would be explained well but unfortunately, this was not the case.

We start with a family party, we can see some of the members are close but quickly learn about a past family trauma that has stopped Remy from speaking with her system Mia. Even this section of the movie isn't explained very well but it makes out that Mia is evil.

After some time Remy becomes sick leaving Cameron in the care of her Auntie Mia. It is not explained or shown why the other family members did not offer to help at this point either. After a few weeks of looking after Cameron, she is given parental rights until her mother is well enough again. Unfortunately by the time, Remy is well again Mia will not accept any contact and Cameron is missing.

Cameron is put down in a basement with some others who have also been trapped there. At first, Mia had trapped them and even tortures them. Somehow Mia manages to get paychecks for these people and lives a life of luxury. Unfortunately due to the justice system letting Cameron down Mia traps her in the basement for many years.

Eventually, someone comes asking about Cameron and they need to go on the run this leads Mia to move everyone. This is where the plot starts to lose me. As money is becoming less Mia sells the people in the basement for sex work. However, even when the girls become pregnant Mia keeps the children. At this point, the plot seems to fall apart and does not explain why she does this. Mia is still evil enough to keep Cameron and the others in the basement so letting them have children seems to be a little out of character.

Parts of the story are very slow are hard to watch. It's not explained very well and it's a shame because it could have been a really thrilling movie.

Funny feel good movie
19 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I actually quite enjoyed Murder Mystery 2, it is not the best movie I have ever watched. However, it is a feel-good movie and very relatable in certain areas so it really makes me laugh.

The movie takes place in the most beautiful setting. I would save forever to stay in a hotel like the one in the movie it is absolutely breathtaking.

The second movie follows a similar pattern to the first movie it is a "who did it" murder investigation. The movie is filled with comedy and some cheesy jokes but at its core is it very similar to the first movie even with Spitz being blamed again for the movie. This felt a little like a letdown.

The fighting scenes got much better in this movie as Audrey & Nick continued to learn how to investigate. There are some really cool camera angles whilst fighting that really make you think "Wow"! Again I really enjoyed the fighting as Audrey & Nick make it funny and relatable.

It was also lovely to see some familiar faces in a lineup of new cast. Throughout the movie this time we had people who believed in Audrey & Nick and knew what happened at the crime scene last time. This helped to build layers between the different types of characters.

Another problem I faced with this movie was unfortunately the ending. Compared to the first movie this ending felt a little loose. There was not a lot of explanation between the 2 killers I don't even think they have a single line together throughout the whole movie. It would have been nice even to see a flashback or some connection between the two. It just felt like 2 separate stories that just happened to end at the same place.

Chupa (2023)
5/10
Chupacabra introduction.
18 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
When I seen the trailer for Chupa I was super interested to find out more about the story and the Chupacabra. Chupa is mainly set in Mexico so it was extremely interesting for me to learn more about a place I have always wanted to travel too.

The first main character we are introduced to is Alex, we see how Alex is now in an American school and is bulled for some of the food he eats. This must be such a different thing to experience and Alex feels very along. This is deeded even more with the recent loss of his Father.

Alex's Father had planned a trip with Alex before he passed away to spend some time with the family in Mexico. This is were we are introduced to the. Chupacabra and the people who are after them.

The Chupacabra is being hunted down as it is supposed to have healing properties and humans would like to used this. This is were we meet baby Chupa. Chupa is absolutely adorable they are very playful ad carefree as children often are. Unfortunately Chupa gets spilt up from there family. This allows Chupa to eventually meet with Alex and the two quickly become friends. They are unable to communicate with one another but have suffered some of the same hardships in life so quickly bond and want to protect one another.

Alex is also able to spend time with some of his family members who he doesn't see very often. This movie shows well the bonds of not only family members but also the friends you choose to bring into your life. Throughout the movie we are also shown a big change in Alex as he becomes more and more pour of his heritage and would even like to travel back to Mexico again in the future. This journey sparked an interest in Alex that even made him wat to continue learning Spanish. I if nice feel good movie with a heat warming message throughout.

For me there were parts of the story that were a little slow of poorly explained. Sometimes the CGI was a little off putting and took me out of the movie especially for the adult Chupacabra. I feel like Chupa had a lot of love put into the CGI but as the older one doesn't have much screen time it wasn't as good, this was a little dissapointing.

Chava is the grandfather looking after the children, but we find out he has been struggling with a memory loss condition. As the Chupa are being hunted for there healing abilities I thought this might be a plot in the story for the grandfather to be healed in the end however this is not the case and the memories are left to Alex. I really though this was a missed opportunity as the next time Alex meets with Chava again his memory might have already faded.

A movie about friendship
14 April 2023
Lyle, Lyle Crocodile is a movie that shows us all that friendship comes in all shapes and sizes. It's a movie for the whole family but I think it could have been a little better.

The CGI in this movie is very hit-and-miss. Don't get me wrong Lyle is adorable, especially as a baby. However, there are sections where Lyle looks very out of place and it can be very distracting. Also, the cat in the movie has horrible CGI it does not look real with its movements and is sometimes creepy too. This often took me out of the movie and what was going on.

This movie does a good job of showing some of the problems both adults and children face in life. We see the parents learning how to bring Josh up in the way they think is right whilst being very overbearing. We also see Josh learning to copy in a new city without anyone to turn to. Josh has many fears that he can overcome with help from a new friend.

It is nice to see a movie filled with wonder and we are able to watch through the children's eyes. Watching the movie we befriend Lyle just like Josh and become angry with the adults who don't believe that he is friendly. It's also horrible to see how Lyle has been treated in the past by Hector. One section I really liked was watching the parents open back up to being more fun and adventurous.

The movie is not perfect, but it is nice to watch a movie from time to time that shows how important friendships can be.

A fun nostalgic adventure
14 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Firstly I am going to try and keep this review as spoiler free as possible. It will contain spoilers about who is in the movie but I will try to avoid the main plots of the movie.

I have been a gamer since I was very young. I have grown up with Mario and the characters in this world so it's fun to see them in a movie yet again but this time in an animated movie. This movie shows the relationship between brothers as they face adult problems we have all faced as we have gotten older. However, they are lucky enough to find a little magic.

The animation in this movie is absolutely stunning. From the lighting to the textures everything is done really nicely. The Mushroom Kingdom is filled with colour but not too overpowering. You are even able to see each of the scales on Bowser's body. It is really outstanding.

There are so many easter eggs hidden throughout this movie for old and new fans. My favourite has to be the game cube into tone as the ringtone. I love how it reaches out of the Mario universe and brings in Nintendo easter eggs too. At each part of the movie, you can look in the distance and see something hidden that will make you smile.

The music throughout the movie also gets you really immersed in the movie as a lot of the tracks are from the game but remixed to fit the feel of the movie. It's nice to have something so familiar with a new twist.

Once we enter the Mushroom Kingdom we are treated to a world filled with life. There are enemies and friendly faces everywhere for Mario to discover along with us. The kingdom itself is filled with toads funning around doing daily activities. We can see the toads shopping for powerups and even travelling in pipes around the kingdom. The power-ups are also a nice look into the different games included. It was also great to see other parts of the world and see how the different characters get around the world like karts. I would love to see more of this in the next movie too!

There are so many characters included in this movie and I will speak about some of them below:

Mario - I really enjoyed Mario much more in the movie than I thought I would from the trailer. It is explained in the movie why the accent is different from what we all know. I actually loved seeing Mario being the protective big brother we have all grown to love but he also has the ability to grow throughout this movie. It is fun watching Mario explore this new world and learn about how to get around.

Luigi - Luigi is the scaredy cat brother as always but still Mario's sidekick through everything. We see how Mario is the one who often gets them into trouble but through thick and thin Luigi will stick by Mario's side. I wish we were able to see more of Luigi. Even in the small amount of time, we see Luigi grow to even protect Mario in the end

Toad - I really enjoyed that Toad was more like the adventurer Toad as it created a more lovable character. This gave Toad some independence and allowed him to stay by the side of Princess Peach.

Peach - Over the years Peach has been given a much more independent feel. In the movie, she is very strong and does not need Mario to come and save her. Peach is actually the one who shows Mario how to survive in this new world. She will do everything in her power to keep the toads safe even if it costs her happiness.

DK - Donkey Kong took the direction of being very confident and showboating to the others from his area. It really suited his character and it was nice to see him humbled by Mario. This created a rivalry between the 2 but they also work together and develop a fun friendship.

Bowser - What can I say, Jack Black did an amazing job with the voice of Bowser. At first, I really enjoyed how scary Bowser looks to the other from this world. Everyone is scared of Bowser and what he will do with the star. Unfortunately, I really think that throughout the movie his character was written too desperately. We all know that Bowser likes Peach and will do anything to make her his. However, it came across more like jealousy and felt very despite. I think this really took away from Bowser as a character and felt me feeling a little disanointed as some parts were amazing for the character.

There are so many fun parts to this movie from the musical number by Bowser to the Mario Kart section with the old favourite Rainbow Road. It has something for the whole family and I would highly recommend a watch.

7/10.
