In her youth, she spent countless hours with actors of the 1980s brat pack bunch Molly Ringwald (Different Strokes, Pretty in Pink, The Breakfast Club) and filmmakers like Spike Lee (Do the Right Thing, Jungle Fever, She's Gotta Have it), Michael Moore (Bowling for Columbine, Sicko), Wayne Wang (Toilet Paper is Expensive but Life is Cheap) and Deepa Mehta (Fire) - they, on screen while she with popcorn and dreams.
Jasmine is a fixer, researcher and field producer for international broadcast media and production companies.
In production - She picked up a 2nd Prize Award at the 2019 Motion Picture Association International Script-to-Screen Pitch Workshop (Malaysia) for ‘Kurang Manis’, a documentary about six Malaysians living in a not-so-sweet world of political change while one in two battle a noncommunicable disease (http://move8.asiafitnesstoday.com/kurang-manis-movie/).
Unreleased short film - Her first independent short film, "I'm Waiting" (2008) is based upon an original script, "Happy Anniversary" by filmmaker Yin San LOH (1970-2016), which she adapted and directed. Jasmine resides in Sydney and travels for work assignments. She is a Malaysian of 5th generation Chinese heritage from Shantou 汕头市 Swatow (maternal) and born in Penang and schooled in Kuala Lumpur.
