Dexter: Living the Dream (2009) Season 4, Episode 1

Good start but an unbelievable plot twist

This season of dexter is a good one with John Lithgow as the naughty serial killer. The plot is great as far as the common theme goes. The build up to and with the shenanigans of what you are to expect from any Dexter series.

However.... This BS relationship between Sgt Angel Batista and Lt Maria LaGuerta is beyond me... and how loved up are they! In the last season Batista was loved up with the Vice Detective, no lead up to him having feelings for his Boss.

I know she puts it around a bit, but its a tad gar fetched to me.

I can only conclude there was no money in the budget to include Det Barbara Gianna in season 4.

Suits: One Last Con (2019) Season 9, Episode 10

One last conned

Ok Now I have seen this full series (1-9)... twas a an adventure to be sure. And enjoyed it on the whole.

Apart from series 9... DumDumDum.... Let me explain... Yes the concept of the plot was feasible... with Faye coming in to spear head the firm.

The ensuing fight to push back against her authoritarian methods was believable to an extent.

Then Mike came back, Why??? With no Rachel and no explanation (APART FROM MISS MARKLES ATTEMPT AT WORLD DOMINATION).

Then Harveys Mum dies , no Rachel ( No mention why) them Louis and Shelia get married, no Rachel ( no mention why " in the plot line).

And the cherry on top... this very serious court case just fizzles out in such a anti climax it's pathetic...ah yes..Harvey "had a word "

Hopefully the new "Suits L. A" will be more realistic. Thats if its not a joke winding up Meghan Markle of course.

Ricky Gervais: Armageddon (2023 TV Special)

Another comedy special from Mr Gervais

The third one from Ricky on Netflix, I think not, including his DVD ones before these.

I do enjoy Ricky on the whole.. but its true he does seem to have the need to shock these days saying the C word too much to that effect.

I'm not entirely convinced he was playing to a live audience, seeing that the two front rows are blacked out and the canned laughter track is depressingly bad.

The content is the usual fair, albeit it amusing but not entirely laugh out loud funny. The Golden globe material was a lot more clever and enjoyable, mainly because of the captive audience and their reactions.

This isn't a bad review but the material needs to be twice as good for the next on ( if thats on the cards of course).

A generous 6 stars from me....

Renegades (2022)

Not Renegrade more Geriatrics

My first motivation to see this video was just to see how much collagen the female actor playing the DI actually had in her lips...a true duck pout, it's priceless. (16.08 time stamp)

The guns must have just clicked when filming the violent scenes, the blood splat are CGI and done really badly for a modern day "action" flick.

Acting on the whole is reasonable for the most part, but the barrel have been scrapped back to the wood and then some.

The plot is also a cliche in its a cookle cutter scenario like with of these Gangsters movies.

Nice to see Lee Majors in a current role, the the guy is in pain, and I'm talking about his acting its the way he is walking , and when he is seating down in the pub for the veterans meeting, he have a pair of tits that could do with some 'Majors' support. (13.25 time stamp)

Well enough about my ranting lets get on with the rest of this little gem.....

Bull (2021)

Not a revenge movie

This movie albeit entertaining isn't a revenge movie as it leads you to believe.

Its more a supernatural revenge movie. With the emphasis on heavy violence and unexplained impunity of the main character Bull.

Bull is a somewhat violent Enforcer, for a I would describe as a low to middle crime family, He is married to the bosses daughter, but nobody seems like him. His drug addicted wife wants to leave him and he is fine with this but he wants his son.

There lies the problem, as Norm the Boss, an old man with a gangster complex, tells Bull in a very over the top way usually with the aid of a saw off shot gun thats it over and he not welcome in the family anymore.

As you might expect Bulls not having any of this. Leading to his demise and them his vengeance on all those that wronged him 10 years later.....
