The Winter King (2023– )
5/10
IMHO: The show is just plain boring, uneventful & an outright slog; and that's just in the first 15 minutes of the first Episode

C-Tier 'Modern Audience' Story-telling at best, which inspires & intrigues even less than it successfully (attempts to) circumvent, re-write & plagiarize this Classical Tale & Mythology.

Historical inaccuracies aside, the show is just mid, boring, uneventful & an outright slog; and that's (primarily) just in the first 15 minutes of the first Episode. At this pace of riveting & provocative Story-telling, People will indeed need prodigious amounts of Smelling Salts just to keep them conscious by Season One's "mid" point (Pun intended)

If you want a true rendition of this tale which is far more faithful to it's source material, check out the original: 'EXCALIBUR' (1981) -or- 'KING ARTHUR' (2004) (w/ Clive Owen & Kira Knightly)

Both are good films & actually have a Pulse on the Heart of this fantastical Age-old Tale.

Ahsoka (2023– )
2/10
The game-like puzzle solving & Brand-spankin' New (not lived in) Feeling worlds just seem more like a Video-game rather than a serious show for discerning Adults.

If you Like/Love 'Dissney Star Wars', than you'll likely be jumping for Joy w/ Pha-lonii's 'AH-SO-KA', and while it's definitely not as bad (so far) as OBI-WAN or (mr. Burn cringe) 'BOOK of BUBA FETT' (faint praise)

There are a few scenes that are admittedly thrilling & well done, but most of those involve the Baddies (does this show not want us to be shout for the Protagonists?) And the scene where Sabine gets stabbed THROUGH The CHEST with a Laser Sword.....and then just wakes up with her Make-up still perfect and a Little Quarter-sized Scar on her lower Tummy (& is seeming Fine) was just beyond the Pale of believably) The whole thing (incl. The game-like puzzle solving & Brand-spankin' New (not lived in) Feeling worlds just seem more like a Video-game rather than a serious show for discerning Adults.

It's no where near as good as 'ANDOR' in terms of Story, Acting & Set Design......and that's not exactly High Praise. Hope the 3-8 Episodes get better, but I, like a lot of past disappointed Star Wars EU Fans, won't hold my breath.

Dark Winds (2022– )

While DW Season 1 had great potential, it squandered it just like Season 2 is now doing in spades, with "Filler Storytelling" + + +

While DW Season 1 had great potential, it squandered it just like Season 2 is now doing in spades, with "Filler Storytelling", e.g. Uninteresting scenes, constant waiting for meaningful Narrative developments (+ a total lack-there-of) & tired tropes like Golden-haired Wht guys being the (only real Baddie) Antagonists. (*Newsflash: your ancestors mistakes &/or indeed crimes do not reflect directly on you..... especially 10x + Generations later) I can empathize & understand the plight of the downtrodden, but what many people don't seem to realize is that we as whole people, Lower & Middle-class alike, are now being downtrodden: by those who would have us not look past our previous mistakes & become United.....but instead become & remain permanently Divided & Against each other.

Mob Land (2023)
10/10
For a Directorial Debut: 'MOB LAND' is a pretty good all-around slow-burner of a Crime Thriller for Nicholas Maggio's "First Stab" at celluloid storytelling.**

For a Directorial Debut: 'MOB LAND' is a pretty good all-around slow-burner of a Crime Thriller for Nicholas Maggio's "First Stab" at celluloid storytelling.**

Travolta was slightly subdued, but Stephen Dorff was definitely the Standout Performance w/ his portrayal of a somewhat conflicted yet menacing & overall cunning Southern Mob Enforcer.

Always a pleasure to watch him smear his acting chops all over the screen w/ invariably great results.

Not Everyone will like/love 'MOB LAND', but seldom are the better or indeed Best Films ever 100/100 Crowd Pleasers. A- / B+

(** The majority of people won't take this into consideration when giving their opinion, mostly because the majority of people don't bother with doing even cursory research on something before forming & indeed sharing their Opinion on the matter. One might say that is at least one of the fundamental reasons Why we find the world in the current state it in: Divided, Faltering & in Decline)
