Wonderful whirl of an adventure!
6 May 2002
This is one of my favorite movies ever! A wonderful period piece, with a light hearted love story line. Granger, of course, is in his element acting these types of roles. The story line is set in France during the pre-revolutionary and revolutionary times. Granger is a B*****d in search of his family, and mistakenly believes he is from a certain family.... this and a friendship with a revolutionary writer, give him a fun run for his money! You have to see it at least once.... it is SO good!

Excellent adventure, terrific fun!

This is a wonderfully adventurous romp! Granger is at his best in this type of role! Handsome and daring, he fills all romantic girl dreams of period heros. Deborah Kerr and Stewart Granger have great chemistry and are obviously having fun. The story line is that the King has been kidnapped and a British man who looks exactly like the King has to step in and take his place, to keep the government under control. He however, falls in love with the King's cousin, who is also the King's betrothed. The rest you must see, it is a classic.

Thoroughly entertaining and a classic! Stewart Granger was a wonderful actor! The chemistry between Granger and Kerr are obvious and it is a wonderful entertaining action for the whole family. The story centers around a woman looking for your husband in the African Safari...she and the man helping her (Granger) fall in love. Who wouldnt fall in love with Granger???

This is a cute comedy, with great characters!

This is definitely not an intellectual comedy.... however, it is very cute, and definitely worth a view. For all those (which I proudly am!) diehard Cindy Lauper fans and for everyone else, this is a nostalgic and amusing trip. Plus, David Keith adds an additional pleasure. The show is funny, sexy and has a great ending. Check it out, if you need a funny adventure after a hard days work!
