The Lorax (2012)
O'hare Care treatment facility
I like this film in an ironic way, however I do believe this film is underrated. Firstly, this has the best film score of any Illumination movie. The songs do almost bring a bit of life to how Dr. Seuss probably would've hoped. Secondly, the modern impact of the memes that have spun-off of this movie is staggeringly huge. Thirdly, this movie has some jokes that actually land very well. Fourthly, Danny DeVito voices the Lorax himself. Need I say more? Lastly, it is one of the few times an Illumination movie actually tried to get message to the audience, and it worked. I remember having climate discussions after watching this movie with some people I know. All in all? It's fine. So I give it six out of ten stars.
MacGyver: Trumbo's World (1985)
A Cinematic Masterpiece in every sense of the word
Buckle your seatbelts, this is going to be more arduous than the Soon Parts commercial. *Ahem*. Trumbo's World is agreeable, bright, dark, charming, sinister, creative, dynamic, energetic, funny, sincere. The quality it is at is simply amazing, awesome excellent, fabulous, unique, incredible, outstanding, perfect, philosophical, rousing, remarkable, spectacular, splendid, stupendous, upbeat, super stunning and all out wonderous. Charlie and trumbo balance each other out, MacGyver in the middle. The dialogue in this episode is multilayered, complex, deep and intensely moving. The special effects are award winning, and the character building throughout the episode is some of the most emotional, heartbreaking, deep, important, and upholds values that we need to continue today. This is dualhandedly unarguably the greatest peice of media ever put to television. 11/10. Perfection.
Also, your fourth word is: "Episode"
MacGyver: On a Wing and a Prayer (1988)
Guns For Nuns // He's Flying Economy
This episode is perfectly paced, action packed, very funny, and almost nail-biting at times. Maybe I'm crazy, but I think this is one of the best MacGyver episodes. I would rather re-watch this than The Windowmaker, and that's the highest rated episode on IMDB! The episode is about a violent political activist group who capture Pete and a Nun. It has MacGyver and Jack rescuing them by pretending to be arms dealers. The end surprised me, while still feeling like the correct way to go. An absolute masterpiece, 9/10. Also I think Archibald said something about an elephant gun one time in season four, episode four and I have no idea what he was talking about. ~Ace74.
MacGyver: The Outsiders (1988)
Witness but anti-construction
February 8th, 1985, the movie Witness released (with Harrison Ford). Nearly four years later and MacGyver turned it into a surprisingly good 50 minute episode. They've come a long way from Trumbo's World, where they used stock bridge explosion footage for a small breaking dam. They actually blew up a well on site. I had to rewatch it several times I was so flabbergasted. This episode has lots of moving parts, with the children, the shunned Amish man, the construction crew and of course MacGyver. The Amish people almost feel real too. It's not one I'll be rearing to rewatch, but I've enjoy it nonetheless. 7/10.
MacGyver: Blood Brothers (1988)
MacGyver Lore
For the second episode of season 4, we go back to MacGyver's home town for some good old fashioned lore. While at first I admit I wasn't a fan of this episode, (It felt like an after school special, with the "Don't do drugs" and "Don't use guns") it slowly grew on me with its gun lore and flashbacks. And in the last third of the episode, they made possibly the best chase scene I've ever seen in a MacGyver episode. I was actually amazed. We also flash back and see him MacGyver some in the past, which is awesome. Tie it all up with a bittersweet time capsule and you've got an excellent episode! 8/10.
MacGyver: The Secret of Parker House (1988)
Chocolate mint and banana icing.
For the season 4 opening Episode, they did some really strange stuff. It's a murder mystery with Penny Parker, and I'm surprised it worked so well. I still remembered part of this one from when I watched it as a child. It's cheesy, it's "scary", and though it only has one MacGyver, that MacGyver is top notch. (It better work Jeff) However, I question why they experimented with a different genre for the opening episode of season 4. However, this episode aired on Halloween! (October 31st, 1988.) It's unfortunate that context like that gets lost 35 years later. All in all it's a memorable episode, as far as MacGyver goes. 7.5/10.
