What??!!
8 April 2024
What did I just watch??!! It was worse than imagining bamboo shoots under my fingernails. I stuck with the movie (if it could be called that) to the end hoping that something would happen. Nope, nothing did.

It wasn't artsy, sinister or a slow burn, it was absolutely awful and a monumental waste of time. I couldn't get my head around what the whole point of the movie was. Whatever was intended seriously missed the mark and left me annoyed and desperately trying to figure out what I may have missed.

If I were to have seen this in a movie theater and paid money to see it, I would've been royally angered and felt like I was being made a fool of. I wish I could give it less than a one because that's what it was worth to me, nothing.

Brilliantly executed!

I would like to believe that if Anne Rice lived to see this recreation of her novel that she would be ecstatic. The acting is outstanding and execution of the written text into storytelling was flawless.

I've never been satisfied with the original movie and I hated Tom Cruise as Lestat. I'm aware that Ms. Rice was pleased with his performance, but I believe she would adore this depiction of Lestat. The series shows his multidimensional personality as well as showing Louis as more than the brooding bore he was depicted in the original movie. I can understand that the time constraints of a movie cannot truly show the depths of character that a miniseries can.

This miniseries is brilliantly done and does the book and its author proud.
