About Time (2013)
A Heart-Harming Story That All Should Watch
I got so intrigued about the time traveling and about it being funny that made say, hey, maybe I should watch it and not to mention that my fave actress, Rachel McAdams starred in this. At first, the movie was fun. I loved the way how it put humor into the very unorthodox family of Tim. For me, this was something new in the Time-Travelling series wherein it's in his genes.
As the story progressed, I felt myself being drawn into it. I love how there would be scenes where it made you celebrate being a human. The quirks of the characters and whatnot. But towards, the end, my tears just flowed non-stop.
This is a film that said that sure time traveling is fun but you can't change what's written. If it's your time, it's your time. It was so bittersweet when Tim and his dad met for the last time. Even more so, when he decided to have another child. It made me realize that, though you want to cling so badly to the past, you can't, because you have to live not only for yourself but for others, too.
I could truly say that this movie touched me. Time is limited. You have to spend it with the people you love doing crazy things.
Much Ado About Nothing (1993)
MIchael Keaton portrays Dogberry
If I were to vote, this movie just solely based on him it would have been a ten, but then the others were involved so it became so.
When I read Much Ado About Nothing, I wasn't expecting Dogberry to be this zany. It was a real laugh watching Michael Keaton perform. That is, I'm praising him of his splendid role-playing.
Michael Keaton's acting was really entertaining to say the least. Except for Benedick, out of all the characters I was mostly drawn to him for the way he portrayed Dogberry. Not having known that he played as Batman and just remembered him as the father of Lindsay Lohan in Herbie. I was fully impressed!
If you want to see Michael Keaton acting a crazier side, see this film. It's a pity that he came out in just 4 scenes.
Problem Child (1990)
Awwww... Who wouldn't love that kid?
I don't really understand why this movie only got a 4 something review, or was it three? I'm not really sure, but really this movie? Gosh, I remember this when I was small. Every time it would be previewed in the TV, I would sit down and wait for a laugh fest. I remember laughs, wheezes and me holding my stomach while watching this movie. I don't care if it's real or not but then again, exaggerations are okay if they give you a good time. Right? Or am I right?
Also, the other thing that I really liked was that this child Jr. was a genius (or not because it's purely fictitious). I love the schemes and the fact that he handled all of it with a maniacal and evil grin was even better. Gosh!
I love this kid! And he looks like a little angel with those freckles on his nose!
Awwww... Who wouldn't love that kid?
The Notebook (2004)
You should see it if you don't want a part in your life to be missing.
From the start till the end, I was totally pulled into the movie. It showed a romance that's really perfect that love will really, really conquer all, just like what Noah said, "It's not easy we have to work for it."
One thing that I always look for in a great movie is the plot. This plot with its twist and turns, curves and bends are really like a roller coaster that you wouldn't know what would happen. I love how they used time to tell the tale. It was also quite refreshing to see a story finished 'till the end.
The actors and actresses were really fantastic. Even if they're only playing minor roles it was executed with great care.
Also, have to give a very BIG credit to Nick Cassavetes whose efforts really pulled the movie together. Everything seemed in place and everything was properly organized and crafted.
Queen of the Damned (2002)
The biggest disappointment in my life
I do not know where to start with this. After reading Queen of the Damned, the book written by Anne Rice, I was so ecstatic to be finally seeing the movie. But as the movie progressed, that "ecstasy" that I felt for the book turned into disappointment for this movie.
BOOK vs MOVIE As we all know, whenever books are made into movies, most of those movies, are nothing like what they're supposed to be and this one is the same with them. It's really really different from the book. Its plot wasn't copied, I think that they just used the book for names and such. And also, the book is a masterpiece, compiled and put together by one of the smartest being on earth. If you were turned off by this movie and opted to not read the book, then you are so missing a very great chapter in your life!
STORYLINE It was bogus. Anybody could make that up. A story where the main lead (ML) was lonely needed somebody, found that special someone (SS), said bogus line, but was caught in the net of someone, not quite beautiful but more of a s*** (S), if you know what I mean. Then S is bad who wants SS to die by the hands of ML who turns back on S. LOOOONG story short, SS and ML live happily ever 'till death do them part, which is unlikely since we ALL know that they live forever.
EFFECTS I was expecting more, since hello, DUH!!! These are the Warner Bros. we're talking about! I mean a year before they made the greatest movie ever! Harry Potter with very, VERY awe-inspiring effects. Then we just get crappy burning effects and decomposing, audiences doubled in the concert arena and don't forget the flying and jumping and grabbing hold of their so-called victims. Oh wait, that last part when the spirit inside Akasha went out and it was like doing the atom-like movements around her, it was almost okay, almost that is.
CHARACTERS If you are particular to the "vampire" world, authors would usually say that they are the most beautiful creature that roam the world, that wherever they go if not concealed turns heads around, not literal of course, but the only person who was beautiful was Lestat aka Stuart Townsend. Jesse (M. Moreau) was beautiful too, just that she was better looking when she was still alive and not in her vampiric state. I don't know what to make of their acting since I do not really know on how to judge it, but one thing's for sure, Stuart Townsend is the best looking vampire actor in the world who beats Edward(Rob Pattinson) hands down! And Townsend is better at acting too.
TOTAL All in all, if you're intrigued, I'd rather you just watch it online, no need to get out of your house to go out and rent it for you're just wasting your time. But, as I've said before if you're interested about the whole queen rising up again and rocker vamp next to her, go and look for the book, it's worth it and there are tons of lessons to learn from this book.
OTHER COMMENT I wish that they'd make another movie out of this. They'll follow the real sequence that was in the book, find more people who are pleasing to the eyes to play the parts of the vampire people. And that they use Townsend again to play as Lestat with his cool and angelic voice that sounds demonic which doesn't make sense but if you listen to him you'll understand.
Wanted (2008)
Cool movie, although some parts are cliché.
The effects are great, the casts are even better but what really turns me off is the cliché parts.
Cons: 1. Cliché parts: a.) Finding out that your father is actually the one who you're supposed to kill but you were made to believe otherwise.
b.) A guy is shot from the behind after the suspense background was sounded.
c.) Not missing the shot after the real person is used for a decoy.
d.) Although some people will not agree with this I found the bullets that were shot by Cross to kill Mr. X was out of proportion, that will not really happen in real life, given the distance is so long and how could you possibly see him on top of the building from your apartment's window, is just really, really out of proportion.
2. Suspense not really that suspense since it gave away the suspense thing. 3. Cheesy lines.
Pros: - But after all these flaws, the RESEARCH and the EFFECTS is totally W-O-W! - Angelina Jolie's skills mixed with sophistication and grace is a double W-O-W!
All in all we must give credit to the director for leading this skillful batch of actors and actresses in an action pack filled movie. I though that they would stress with the s e x thing, but I was actually surprised that they didn't. And is a totally-worth-spending-your-money- on-it thing.
Bratz (2007)
The BRATZ are not THE BRATZ.
When I saw its trailer, I got really excited because for one, it was really cool that they're going to do a real life version of Bratz. And yes I love Bratz the cartoon one of course. But when I saw it *gasp* it was just a good thing that I watched it at home.
Pros:
1. The movie was very colorful, which is a big deal for visual people.
2. And there's the good sense of fashion, present in the movie.
Cons:
1. The story was very Cliché. The plot was not planned out. I bet that the film was rushed, i mean come on cliques that don't click? It was like a mix of Van Wilder 2 and other movies that had clique in them.
2. The movie was so CORNY. That part after they had the food fight scene, where Jasmine said, "Stop it!" And they ended up a friends? Was so Uggh! It made me want to gag!!!
3. The actresses' acting, or rather everybody's ACTING was WAY OVER THE TOP.
4. The part were Dylan portrayed that he was deaf. He really didn't portray it. I know that he can lip read but, the way that he did it, he can get what the others are saying like *snap of fingers* that!
5. Jasmine's voice was so not good. It's too nasal-y. Meredith's voice was way better than hers. Why the heck was it that the lead in this movie is Jasmine? When the lead is always Chloe. Is there some reason behind this?
And Oh yeah! What the heck was that part, where Dylan had his own scene? Where the music teacher helped him and everything? It reminded me of Drumline, you know the movie.
Niñas mal (2007)
shocked!
When I first saw this movie, I said to myself, "Hey what the heck it sounds like a good movie, why not rent it?". So yeah, I rented it and went back home to see it. When I inserted it in my DVD player I was shocked.
Well FIRST of all, no one told me it was a Mexican movie and was spoken in Spanish, good thing it had subtitles.
SECOND, it was nude, nude NUDE! Since I have no background whatsoever in Mexican movies, you could see my shock when I saw it. *GASP! Covering virgin eyes, NOO*
THIRD, predictable to say the least, but actually being it predictable was no excuse to me in liking movies, because I don't seem to care if it's predictable, unless it's way over the top.
FOURTH, how Heidi and Kike were reunited, so cheesy.
FIFTH, how the movie ended. It was a BAD, BAD ending. How Mr. Van der Linde's sudden approval to the mayor's election was because her daughter, knew how to throw the party... BLAH, Blah. I was hoping that he wasn't that easy to accept it, the director might have just rushed it.
After all of this bashing of the bad stuff, the good stuff's are here to come. The movie was actually quite hilarious at some point with Maribel being clumsy in the kitchen and all, Heidi's attitude, Valentina being poetic with words. What I really also like about it was the song that Valentina made with her girl friend. That's all, and for the other stuffs that I haven't mentioned they were just so-so.
300 (2006)
An okay film.
A movie like this is one that you'll never forget. Yes, yes I know that a lot of people here seem to disagree with me because it's cheesy, predictable, drama, blah, blah, blah!!!
I really do not care.
For this movie had spectacular choreography to its fighting skills like any other. You'll just get to see these choreographs like what? Once in your life? Okay, I was exaggerating, but still.
Well, yes, the movie was quite predictable, the part where Gorgo had to "please' Theron to win his support for the council. That's the reason why I gave this film an 8, because of predictability.
But all in all, it was an okay film.
