Ong-Bak (2003)
A new superstar has been born
The film dives you into the turbulent and very poor world of Thailand. This just adds to the spicy taste of the film. The plot itself is not too complicated and somehow hidden there is the thousand-year old conflict and rivalry between Burma and Thailand.
You would wonder why this film is so highly rated. Well, the movie's superhero, Tony Jaa has mastered so fluid and beautiful martial art techniques that it is simply astonishing and breathtaking to see what a man is capable of. Sometimes you could hardly believe what you see on the screen.
If you looked for a few idol, then after Bruce Lee... you finally found it! Ong-Bak will be a cult film for fans of martial arts.
Yeopgijeogin geunyeo (2001)
The most wonderful love story I ever saw.
I enjoyed every minute of the movie. I would like to recommend this movie to everybody who would like to get a good laugh. I read in other user's comment that the story is available as a book. I am looking forward to read it as well.
Thank you very much for this movie experience! I will never forget the actors and the story.
Moszkva tér (2001)
Love story during the fall of communism
The film tries to capture all the facets of the Hungarian history in 1989. It tries to represent the change from the point of view of young high school students.
All the Hungarian people till 1988 lived in a lie. One year later everything was destroyed. Forty years of socialist culture fades away in some weeks. The opressing forces of the Soviets leaves the country and leaves the country as it is. A country without future, without any ideas, how to go on, how to raise from the dust.
I would recommmend the film for those, who like controversy and for those, who are very open for human feelings.
Bastard Out of Carolina (1996)
Child abuse spiced with a stupid mother
This is just a usual tale how a deeply stupid, dumb, senseless mother spoils the entire life of her daughter. The same story could be told in any part of the world. Oh yes, and be prepared to have your heart and soul tormented throughout the film.
