The Andy Griffith Show: Mr. McBeevee (1962)
Common script formula here
From I Love Lucy all the way through to The Big Bang Theory, countless shows have featured episodes featuring the characters having a misunderstanding. It is extremely common. It happens here too. In order to have this particular script, it is necessary for Opie to be vague about who he got the hatchet and the coin from. Opie couldn't have said, "He has a tool belt or he has a hard hat and a truck. He has to use words that prolong the scenes, which are ones from the worker himself. It's tv and it works as long as you don't contrast that scenario to real life. If you were a kid facing a spanking, you would describe everything in very exact terms.
The Andy Griffith Show: Prisoner of Love (1964)
Quite different
I guess everyone is correct that says this episode is unsettling or creepy, what with the two jailers and the very beautiful prisoner. It's expected that Barney goes silly for her but Andy is not supposed to be anything other than a solid, unwavering lawman. Instead, Andy gets completely hooked on her. He almost gets some loving too. If this had somehow been an hour episode, we would surely have seen Andy throwing rocks at Helen as he ran her out of town. But anyway, we are glad to see Andy isn't blind or gay. After seeing him flinch from Ellen the manicurist, (whoa), both county nurses and Thelma Lou's whole house full of friends (Farmer Takes A Wife), we were suspicious.
It turns out, even a hateful frigid, she-devil has a man that wants her.
Into the Storm (2014)
Let me nitpick
So everyone is correct when they marvel at the absolutely awesome special effects here. The tornadoes have the right colors, shapes and rotation BUT....and I've watched 739 tornado videos on YouTube to know that tornadoes don't move along the ground at lightning speed. Even Twister got this wrong with a few. I wish they would slow them down to actual speeds.
Would any person hold a camera through an epic natural disaster?
Next, many high schools have their graduation ceremonies on the football field but THIS one is just a .......field. Nevermind the goalposts. This playing surface looks like their groundskeeper died the previous spring.
Couldn't someone at least MOW THE GRASS ???
Another is that some cars are lifted airborne but other cars that are CLOSER to the tornado are unaffected.
Finally, and this is one everybody notices right away, and that's the major international airport in this town.
The Andy Griffith Show: A Deal Is a Deal (1964)
Funny but flawed logic again
T's fun to see Barney and Gomer doing something silly instead of Barney deputizing Gomer as usual and then getting mad at him. I remember selling different products when I was young too. We sold candy, cookies, magazines and even light bulbs!!
We all know these episodes had many different writers and continuity was not important to them. From Barney's middle name to the distance to Mt. Pilot and Raleigh- it varies. They also didn't hesitate to be illogical often. This episode is no exception. For instance, When Barney and Gomer disguised themselves and went into the Miracle Salve office, they never paid for anything NOR did they sign anything. So, why are they on the hook? This is true even without the deception. Andy would be the first to assure everyone that it's not binding. But he acts like they are legally stuck with all that salve.
Technically, they could do anything with it since it wasn't ordered, paid for or connected to Andy, Barney or Gomer. They could just sell it for 5¢ a jar or give it away.
