The Shawshank Redemption (1994)
Perfection
I've seen thousands of films and this is by far one of the best I've ever seen. This is one of the rare films that was better than the book. It was taken from Stephen Kings short story "Rita Heyworth and the Shawshank Redemption" I am a huge Stephen King fan and also enjoyed the story very much. This movie blew me away. I'm not a big Tim Robbins fan but he is perfect fit this role. Morgan Freeman is great in this just like he is in everything he does. This film has some of the best lines in it. When Morgan Freeman is narrating and says "The only one I know that could crawl through a river of $hit and come out clean on the other side..." It gives me goosebumps. If you have never seen this you should go out and buy it today.
The Last Sign (2005)
One of the worst films I've seen
I wish I could have the hour and a half of my life back that I wasted on watching this film. When my wife and I picked this up at Blockbuster( she wanted to rent it, not me) I thought it might be decent with the actors in it. I like Tim Roth and Margot Kidder and Andie Mcdowell, just not in this film. Tim Roth's part is not big enough, Andie Mcdowell is just OK in this, and Margot Kidder is HORRIBLE in this film. She was good in the Superman movies but you wouldn't know that from this film. It was painful to watch her performance. Please save yourself and do not waste your time with this film. If you want to see Tim Roth in something good watch ROBROY. He is excellent in that.
Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (1982)
The best star trek movie of them all!
If you like any of the Star Trek movies this is a must see. The acting is great. Ricardo Monteban is awesome as Kahn. Kristie Alley as Savik when she was young and hot not old and fat. The battle scenes and special effects still hold up today even though they are over 20 years old. The only exception is the scene with the creatures they put into Chekovs ear are very dated. There are so many great lines in this film. When Kirk yells "Kahn!" and Spock says " The needs of the few out way the needs of the many" It gives me chills. This is by far the best out of all the Star Trek films. If you have never seen any of the films this is the one to watch.
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (2007)
Worst Potter movie to date
I am a big fan of J.K. Rowlings Harry Potter series. I have read all of the books of series (some of them twice). I am sorry to say that this movie falls far from the mark of what I am used to seeing. The special effects were sub par. The final fight scene in the ministry of magic was mediocre at best. It should have been twice as long and more detailed. The fight started and Sirius was dead in like 30 seconds. I would of liked to see more of him dueling before they killed him off. There was a few high points in this film. I was glad to see all of the original cast back.(minus Richard Harris the original Dumbledore). Also the actress they got to play Delores Umbridge was excellent. If you are planning to watch all the movies in the series than watch this if not don't waste your time.
Balls of Fury (2007)
Horrible
This movie is crap. It starts out bad the second act is bad and the third act is bad. I like Christopher Walken very much, just not in this. I wish he would sign on to be in a better picture. The jokes were mediocre at best. I can't believe this didn't go straight to video. George Lopez is not funny in anything I don't know why the director thought he would be any different in this. When I first saw the trailer for this I thought it was going to be like Dodgeball with Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughn. This is nowhere close to and that movie was just OK. Even Blades of Glory with Will Ferrel was better than this. Don't waste a hour and a half of your life on this piece of garbage.
