Missed opportunity by clueless writers and producers
4 June 2022
Such a shame now after seeing the mess Obi Wan is and thinking of what I had imagined it to be when first announced. That it would have Obi Wan training like a kungfu monk, keeping his skills top notch, going on some mission to protect Luke, and while that is playing out, have a B story about Vader hunting down other Jedi across the galaxy.

And all along, Obi Wan is struggling with his past, being haunted by Vader, either in dreams, or as force visions, having to confront him almost every night in his dreams, but never actually meeting him in person.

It could have been amazing.

I had high hope for this show but after 3 episodes I am done and will not return.

Stargate SG-1 (1997–2007)

Fantastic Sci-Fi show with a legacy almost as strong as Star Trek
19 October 2018
I had only seen a few random episodes now and then back when it first started but I never managed to start following it properly. I always knew I would like it, but the whole 10 seasons (+ 5 seasons of Atlantis and 2 seasons of Universe) kind of scared me, such a huge undertaking to start. But then, about a year ago I finally started the journey. And I must say, I had a blast. I laughed, I cried, I was at the edge of my seat, I was transported across the universe through the stargate.

The cast is brilliant and their friendship is what makes it so great. There is the same kind of friendly chemistry as in Star Trek TOS and TNG. There is this warm feeling of familiarity, and everyone gets along well.

The story and character arcs are brilliant. The slow buildup and learning about the Ancients etc. Brilliant. And it is intriguing to take notice that this series could be almost seen as a documentary. It tells things that are extremely similar to things you hear about in various disclosure events. From the very basic idea of Ancient Aliens visiting primitive humans and seen as Gods, the Ancient builder race, a base in Antarctica, Atlantis etc. This show seems to have been made as part of a long-term soft disclosure to get us used the concepts. Which it has done extremely well.

In the first season, I was slightly disappointed in the basic format of going to yet another forest planet with a primitive society of humans. I remember that was a joke that originally made a lot of people not want to watch it properly, "every planet looks like a canadian forest", but I am glad I stuck with it, because you could see the budget increase as it went along, and we got more and more impressive places.

I loved it when they finally got the Asgard-assisted Starships, then it truly stepped into a Star Trek-like world.

I have just finshed SG-1 and am now starting season 4 of Atlantis, where the journey goes on. This is one for the history books people. 10/10 brilliant and fantastic in every way. Bravo! Bravo!

Best thing I have seen in ages. Brings back the "feel-good" of TOS and TNG
11 September 2017
I am huge Star Trek fan, TOS and TNG are like my religion. I also enjoy Family Guy and American Dad immensely. So the idea of a Star Trek like show, with a bit of humour thrown in, sounded like a perfect idea.

I am happy to say I was not disappointed. After just the pilot episode, I feel like I am in heaven. It was everything I had hoped it to be. Serious Scifi story, with just the right amount of humour added.

The fact that it has many "clichés" is what makes it work so well. It feel familiar, ever though it is all new. The whole way this universe works, it is exactly like the Star Trek universe, and for me, that is all I could ask for. I love it.

The effect work is brilliant. The space ship scenes are beautiful, the backgrounds on planets and the "federation" headquarters looked fantastic. The prostethics work is top notch. The music is just perfect and gives me goose bumps.

Wow. Just wow... I am lost for words. I have to say this is love at first sight. Definitely. I hope this will go on for 10+ seasons.

I already read a lot of bad reviews, and I think most of them just want to jump on the "Let's hate Seth McFarlane" bandwagon, because it is cool to hate him and everything he makes. Well, am also a huge fan of both Family Guy and American Dad. I just feel sorry for all those people who cannot enjoy this.

I can't wait for more!

Not what I expected.
14 November 2010
I finally got around to seeing this last night after months and months of anticipation, hearing high praises of it from everywhere. Boy, was I disappointed. I am a big video game fan, grew up in the 80s, so I know all that beat-em-up stuff going on. But the movie just made no sense.

Of course, one might say that this kind of movie should not need to make sense. But I disagree. I admit, I never read the comic, so I did not know the story. But from seeing the trailers, I was expecting it have the basic premise that the evil exes were all DEAD. Right. That's why they are evil, because they come back from the dead to hunt down anyone trying to date Ramona. Now to me, THAT would make sense. Yes, it would be total fantasy and supernatural, but it would make sense.

Scott would be out somewhere with Ramona, and suddenly BOOM, one of the evil ex ghosts show up out of nowhere, ready to fight him. Much like the first evil ex in the film, who just appeared out of thin air.

But the whole fact that they were just "regular guys", meaning living people, made it all the more senseless. Like that Vegan guy, he made zero sense at all.

If you want to make fantasy, at least put the supernatural element there to make it "realistic" so to say. I would have accepted an evil ghost with superpowers showing up, but a guy who has powers because he's vegan? Come on man.

Disappointed :(
