24 Hours in A&E (2011)
Cringe worthy
This could be a good programme but unfortunately just succeeds in being cringe worthy.
The commentator makes an in growing toenail sound life threatening.
The endings always show the intended tear jerking conclusions to each case. Oh my god the patient didn't have his leg amputated because of the toenail. The broken leg didn't result in permanent brain damage.
It's not dramatic it's just "pass the sick bucket, for the viewer".
And the relatives stories are also fingers down throat sick making. All these perfect people in perfect relationships. Where does the programme maker find them all? And all the way through, the commentator continues his whiny doom mongering.
Plenty of better medical reality shows out there guys. Give this one a miss.
Suspects (2014)
Dreadful.
Badly "acted" I would have expected better from Faye Ripley.
The Irish police officer is appalling and shows the police to be insensitive bullies, which they're not. Police officers are taught to show sensitivity towards bereaved relatives.
In practically every episode the 2 officers carry out illegal searches, often barging into homes without a warrant and rooting through private possessions. If they have a warrant ie for a mobile, they're rooting through photographs! Do they not know that items seized during an unlawful search are inadmissible in court?
I found myself watching out of morbid interest.
Silent Witness: Hearts of Darkness: Part 1 (2023)
Poor
Having read a previous review of this episode, I must say that I wholeheartedly agree. The acting is poor like something from a pantomime or a children's story. The characters in particular those of the protesters., are so stereotyped as to be laughable. Quite frankly, I found this embarrassing to watch. We pay TV licence to watch this sort of rubbish and quite frankly I expect more from what has previously been an excellent series.
Please pull your socks up BBC and get back on track, excuse the pun.
It does seem these days that because we pay a TV licence, we have to put up with any old rubbish
Not recommended at all, as you can probably gather.
I Am...: I Am Ruth (2022)
Terrible
Forty minutes in and it seems to be an embarrassing tale of teenage angst and bad language toward a mother and her crying to a grown up son. Embarrassingly awful.
When does the plot actually begin?
I haven't posted any spoilers because as far as I can tell, nothing happens. Maybe it does later on but I can't be bothered wasting any more time waiting to find out.
Apparently I need to submit five hundred words about this drivel before I can submit it.
Sorry. Maybe I should have persevered with it. Apparently there's a whole series?
I have seen much better docudramas on this subject, much better than this one.
The Long Call (2021)
Dreadful
By episode 3 I'd forgotten what the story was all about. The characters are like cardboard. Flat and totally without character. The speech is muffled and toneless. The plot is....don't really know, my brain was too bored to take it in.
What a complete waste of the ITV 9 o'clock slot.
And coming straight after Hollingdon Drive series! (another dreadful waste of time) ITV get your act together.
Peak Practice: Tough Love (1997)
Serious boo boo?
Doctor Erica tells a young girl that the liver is NOT a regenerating organ! Tut tut. It is the ONLY organ that does regenerate!
The Dinner (2017)
What rubbish
Thought this was going to be good. Complete waste of the hour I stuck with.
Don't bother.
Chicago Fire (2012)
New series of Chicago Fire
Congratulations. You've almost managed to turn it into Chicago med. plastic surgically enhanced people. Get rid of the real bald fat old people and replace them with beautiful people. What rubbish this has become.
No Offence (2015)
Season 2
Brilliant.
I found Norah Attah the most disgusting despicable person. Grotesque.
