So many episodes with nothing to show for it.
1 May 2024
I used to really enjoy this show but after just finishing watching this past season, it's become very apparent that they just don't have anything more to say. I am SO sick of the annoying announcer trying to sensationalize every little thing and I feel sorry for the guy having to read that crap. Now this season they were so lacking for actual interesting content that they sent people to Europe again and even that was boring. In my opinion this whole season could have been summed up in a 1 hour episode and show that they did nothing and found very little and you'd be better served spending the time watching paint dry than waste another minute on this show.

Disappointing
3 July 2021
I really don't understand writers who make the main character seem and sound so dumb. Do they think the audience will find that funny. I for one do not! I remember really liking the first movie and don't remember Ryan Reynold's character being that dumb, but in this one they've gone overboard with the stupid dialog and I quickly got tired of hearing one lame joke after another that just fell flat. It could have been a much better movie if they hadn't dumbed him down so much.

Stage Mother (2020)

Thoroughly enjoyable!
23 August 2020
I don't often write reviews but felt that with the lower overall rating this film has received here, I wanted to speak up. I really don't understand the rating being so low. I thoroughly enjoyed this movie and didn't want it to end. It's been a while since I've seen something that touched me like this. I'm not really into drag but could relate on other levels. I laughed many times, cried a few, and ended up being so happy that I watched it. I'm not familiar with the lead actress, but she has great comedic timing and does a wonderful job in the role as the mother. Lucy Liu is also great in this and was a pleasant surprise, since I didn't know she was in it. Overall I will be highly recommending this movie to my friends.

Would have been a good movie if it had an ending.

Warning: Spoilers
I really hate watching movies that go along fine and you're enjoying it and then suddenly it just ends. It's like they ran out of money and just decided to call it a day, even though they hadn't gotten to the actual end of the movie! This movie is like that. I enjoyed most of it. It's funny but dark and I enjoyed the acting.... right up to the point where it ended and the credits started rolling. What the heck. No resolution as to if they go through with what they've started, and no resolution as to who the killer is. How do you make a movie about someone being killed and the victim's mother trying to do what she can to get the killer caught and then they never show it. Very disappointed! I feel like I wasted 2 hrs of my time for nothing.

Really enjoyable movie
19 March 2016
I don't understand the low rating for this movie. I really enjoyed it and there were several laugh out loud moments. I'm like a few other reviewers who wonder if we're talking about the same movie as some of the people who voted it so low. Depp is very consistent in the roll and does a very good job, as do the other actors. There wasn't anyone who didn't perform well in my opinion. I found it to be an enjoyable ride and am still surprised at the low rating on here. I wonder what people are expecting from a film like this, but I consider it a success if it keeps me entertained for a couple hours, makes me laugh, and I'm not looking at the clock to see how much longer it's going to go.

NCIS: New Orleans (2014–2021)

Horrible because of Scott Bakula
6 January 2016
I love the other 2 NCIS shows and just have to say that this one would be SO much better without Scott Bakula. As it is, I simply cannot stand to watch it. He ruins it with his poor acting and flat delivery. I think he's trying to be Mark Harmon and just can't pull it off. I was excited to hear about a new NCIS show set in New Orleans up until I heard who they had cast for the lead. I think Bakula ruined the last Star Trek series and now he's ruining one of the top rates series on TV. I will continue to watch NCIS and NCIS: LA and just hope this one drops by the wayside so I won't even have to watch the commercials for it.

Really, really disappointing.
24 May 2015
I absolutely loved the first movie. It was laugh out loud funny, the music was great, and the story line was good. I was really excited to hear that they were making a sequel and couldn't wait to see it. Oh was I disappointed. I hate to say it, but the music didn't move me (other than the last couple songs), I hated the story, and other than a couple chuckles, I certainly didn't find most of it very funny. The attempts at humor were so bad that I really question if they used the same writers or for budgeting reasons, hired some kids from a high school. Not only were these "jokes" not funny, but there were many times when I cringed at the dialog and felt sorry for the actors having to deliver the lines... especially for Becca in those awkward scenes with the woman from the German group. That was just stupid.

I really wanted to love this movie but ended up just wanting my money back. To me the only redeeming parts of the movie were the final scenes with the 2 rival groups performing. Those were really the only musical numbers that look like someone spent some time on the music and choreography. The rest were just thrown together and certainly nothing special.

Drumline: A New Beat (2014 TV Movie)

Disappointing
28 October 2014
I enjoyed the first movie and was excited to see they created a new one along the same lines, but was disappointed after watching it. I had hoped for some originality but it seems they just replaced the Devon character with a girl who does the same things that got him in trouble and acts out during performances. I also don't understand why they couldn't use scenes of the band actually playing the music instead of playing some soundtrack over their movements that didn't mesh with what they were doing. As someone who marched in marching band and drum corps, it was distracting to say the least that the music and the action didn't match. I would have expected better from a movie about marching.

Very enjoyable

I don't really understand why people are so negative on here. Can't you just enjoy a movie for what it's meant to be and not compare it to Oscar contenders?

No, this movie isn't going to be nominated for an Oscar but I found it very enjoyable. Could it have been better? Sure. There were a few times when it felt strained but I think that was more from the script than the actors abilities (or lack there of). I have a real hard time understanding why they cast Jessie Martin and didn't have him sing. The man was incredible in Rent and it seems a real waste of his talent to not have him sing. A number with him and Queen Latifah would have been great.

Overall though I'd recommend it for a feel good way to spend 2 hrs.

Much better than expected after reading the reviews here
3 March 2012
I have to say that I love the books and have read all of them. I was eager to see the movie but was really surprised and disappointed by the mediocre or bad reviews here. I almost didn't see the movie because of it but decided to go ahead. I was pleasantly surprised. I really enjoyed it and felt it stayed very true to the book. I'm at a loss for why people were disappointed in the movie. It contained the suspense, sexual chemistry, and comedy of the book and I'm not sure what else people were expecting. Granted, I was disappointed in the casting. I never envisioned Kathrine Heigl as Stephanie, certainly didn't like the idea of Jason O'Mara playing the sexy love interest (he's just not that sexy), and in no way does Sherri fit the image I have in my mind of Lula, but all in all they seemed to work well on screen. I'd recommend the movie for a feel-good, light-hearted escape from reality.

Waste of time
23 August 2010
I was very disappointed with this movie. After reading the information about it, it sounded interesting but the movie is very slow moving and only has roughly 20 lines of dialog in the whole movie! The director spends way too much time showing the boys walking down a road, walking through a forest, walking through a field, walking, walking, walking. If you ever wanted to see a movie that shows people walking, this one's for you. Otherwise, I considered it a waste of my time. Aside from a few scenes where they have sex with people they come across on the road, there is very little character development because as previously mentioned, there isn't much dialog. And don't expect to make any more sense out of them at the end of the movie - nope, it just ends without any type of resolution.

Too Dark!
26 May 2009
While the plot and story were pretty good, I was really disappointed in how dark the movie is. What's up with so many directors lately filming everything in the dark? I'd say at least 60% of this movie was filmed in the dark or at night and in a lot of the scenes it's hard to make out what's going on.

The part with the flashlight in the dark hole is just too much. I want to go to a movie to relax and enjoy it and I'm tired of having to work to make out what's going on. It seems that directors have opted for darker shots so they don't have to work as hard on the scene make-up. I for one am tired of it! I was also a little disappointed that this movie didn't have the depth of interest and intrigue as the first one. Instead of dealing with symbols and solving puzzles, this one seemed to be more of a history lesson and didn't seem to be much of a challenge for the main character.
