bhavdeep
welcome to my profile.
my name is bhavdeep singh chadha (very evident) and i am a male human specie.
i am definitely not any average guy on the block. i am different and i stand out for reasons - the good, the bad and the ugly.
but i love myself, though when down i have to make myself believe same.
i am die hard romantic, like the idea of falling in love. i just don't waste time in pursuit of the special someone, will get when i have to. until then its love and romance in everything i do.
i love new things, for reason that monotony kills my spirit. this attitude has made me the person i am, made me do things which are unique but sometimes not acceptable by the social norms.
it is not difficult to know me but like in any relation, patience is a virtue.
i easily socialize but inside i know that i am happy with the few friends i love. And honestly putting up, i am a shy person.
i am a leo and if the sign embodies anything specific then it is strong willed and aggressiveness. this aggressiveness is displayed in my endeavor in life and also anger, which once out can gallop anyone and everyone.
along with the trait of aggressiveness, comes another trait of being lazy or laid-back. I like my lazy hours. They may be contradictory, but as a person, I am full of contradictions and that is what makes me swing.
i am more of a peace loving, want to explore new facets of life, but hey then again am a human and have certain fears also.
i am sensitive but it is not easily seen. my 'best friends' only know me.
not much into sports as physical activity but can talk on it quite comfortably.
i am more or less a positive thinker, and sometimes superstitious. but then any day i can agree that it is always one's karma that defines a person. faith is separate thing all together and i love thinking scientifically into logics.
love to visit religious places, but when I feel like. still I will put up that I am spiritual and not religious.
i am a great thinker for sure and love wit in talks.
i detest sarcasm and like to be heard as felt. precisely speaking, hypocrisy puts me off the most. and so do pushovers.
it is not easy to put everything in words here, because we are individuals and everyone have their own opinion and feelings and thinking and et al..
but don't keep unnecessary expectations, as i don't promise beforehand.
Reviews
Dil Kabaddi (2008)
Laughethon............
I saw the first day first show at 9.45am. And let me tell you all that I never have laughed so much in any film screening as I did while watching this.
Its bustling with humour in every scene, almost. And the humour never goes cheap or slapstick.
I have never seen Woody Allen's Husbands and Wives, but I know he is a great director. However, Director Anil Senior's Dil Kabaddi has all the charm and laughs in the right place.
Every character in the film is enjoyable and the actors put up fantastic performances, be it those who come in for minuscule roles.
After reading few reviews here and there now, I guess only those people who accept that Infidelity is very much part of a metropolitan city's life will be able to enjoy the humour.
For all who are conservative or traditional or does not want to accept the reality, are in for a rude shock! Go on enjoy this film. It surely deserved way better promotion and youth will hit on it for very sure.
A very easy 4 out of 5 for a film which not just has performances and script, but fantastic camera movements (I guess it is hand handling motion frame), perfectly in-sync background score, appealing cinematography and some good production values.
Umrao Jaan (2006)
Aishwarya giver her all, but Dutta fails her as Film-maker because of his Arrogance
Hi there..
I echoed a very positive review for this film when I watched it and completely because I had not seen the Rekha starer Umrao Jaan.
I felt the songs were nice too, if not exceptional. and Aishwarya looked breath taking angelic. She performed really good, especially in scenes like the one where she tells Sunil Shetty that she will only be a dame for him (after the song 'main na mil skun jo tum se') and towards the end when she tells Puru Rajkumar that she has forgiven him and the scenes that follow and many more.
Yes the film was pretty slow paced and to be honest, I did yawned once or twice.
But now the main question arises that "Did it live up to the 1981 Classic made by Muzzaffar Ali?". This is very wrong though but very obvious and unavoidable also.
So to know that I ordered the previous film from my Neighbourhood DVD Library.
And my whole opinion changed.
The 1981 film by Muzaffar Ali with Rekha in the title role is humongous in every department and J.P.Dutta's version now appears to me as an arrogant film-making by a director.
I remember Dutta saying in interviews that his a true adaptation of the book Umrao Jaan Ada by Mirza Hadi Ruswa and it is adapted by his father. If that is the case, then I believe Muzaffar Ali is a fantastic story-writer and screenplay-writer.
The story of the new film is a merely 50% of the old film. The Rekha starer has more to it and that too in less screen time. There are layers and layers of drama which indulges the viewer into the story of the protagonist, making you cry for the doomed fate of her in every span of her lifetime.
The story being the biggest strength give ample area for other departments to excel too. The music is timeless, lyrics very simple and extremely effective, the old word charm (the film was short in the real by lanes of Lucknow) and the performances are superlative.
Rekha excelled the beautiful story by adding her talent and grace to it.
I guess the power of old Umrao Jaan lies in the true fact that Muzzafar Ali was a witness to the culture and Dutta was not.
I never once felt the old film slow and dragging (considering I watched it without any break) and I yawned may times in the new film which was presented to me with inter-mission.
Nothing is therefore of a match between the two films. Even Aishwarya's performance gets reduced to pail due to the failure of the new film at the scripting level.
I personally aspire to be a film director one day and this whole experience taught me a lesson in responsible film-making and arrogant film-making.
To rate the film is now very difficult. It certainly does not comes half closer to the Old Classic and so a less than 5 is deserving. It hence gets a 3 out of 10, 95% of it because of Aishwarya's portrayal.
I know that many people must have worked very hard on this film, but am sorry to all of them. I Do!
The Dark Knight (2008)
Brilliant Piece Of Cinema. A Masterpiece in Every Department.
I had been waiting to see this film since I first caught it's first teaser promo and then later more so for the Late Heath Ledger.
And guys, I can guarantee that it is one of THE best film I have watched in my entire life. Period! Christopher Nolan who shares the credits as Director, Co-writer, Screenplay-writer and Producer deserves a huge and unanimous standing ovation for bringing on live one of THE best and most intelligent script LIVE on Screen.
I have never been very intrigued by BATMAN character, except for his love for highly sophisticated gadgets and also some cool video games inspired from him and Gotham City, but now am so well into it that MARK MY WORDS, I will watch it at least 2 more times for sure.
It is cinema at it highest quality. The characters, the dialogs, the SFX, the action, the jealousy, the anguish, the thirst for power, the EDITING, the screenplay,..... everything is filled with huge dozes of ADRENALIN RUSH.
Christian Bale displays a rare maturity as an actor to portray two varied characters. His craft shines in the way he camouflages his tone as Batman and Bruce Wayne. He is likable as Bruce and applaud-able as the man behind the suit.
Aron Eckhart as Harvey Dent is sharp as razor as the smart and clever lawyer, and grows on to perform a stunning portrayal of a man let down by his accompanies. Brilliancy is the word his portrayal commands - "You either die as Hero or live long enough to see yourself as Villain". His words refuse to let go me.
Late Heath Ledger was undoubtedly a bundle of enormous talent with many sparkling performances to his credit in his very short career and life. His portrayal of JOKER is menacing enough to scare the kids and adults alike. He smile, his tongue wagging, his blade, his father-story, his walk, his eyes, and his words..... words fall short for me to describe it. If Jack Nickolson had given us a stunning portrayal of Joker, Heath Ledger makes it the most iconic and ultimate menacing villain to grace the history of Motion Picture and Story Telling. Don't be surprised if he wins a POSTHUMOUS AWARD in all the award ceremonies next year - Oscars, BAFTAS, SAG, GOLDEN GLOBE....... he deserves all and with utmost Honor and credibility.
All the other characters have their own spaces and well build up in scene by scene which refuses to let us loose our breath.
The action sequences are of the highest quality one has ever seen, or expected. The Gadgets, the car chases, the Blasts at the Gotham General hospital...... so much that you will refuse to leave your seats even in the INTERMISSION.
This film is the best example of best and most intelligent creative effort and Christopher Nolan deserves the highest marks for bringing this spectacle to LIVE.
CHECK THIS MOVIE AT THE EARLIEST.... AND I BET YOU WILL WISH YOU SEE IT AGAIN AND THAT TOO IN CINEMA HALL.
