Overall average with some greatness
Yeoh and Rothrock are really awesome. Most of the stunts are above average including the fight scenes. However, as others have mentioned it drags in places. The focus on the criminals is not helping, but also not too bad. They are the typical likeable bandits and have their bad ass (and comedic fight scenes) moments as well.
Three things I took from this movie. Disclosure: I am not a super hyper Hong-Kong movie fan.
This movie is further proof, that John Wick did definitley not invent Gun-Fu.
Cynthia Rothrock invented the "Showtime Kick". Hence, I motion to call it the "Rothrock Kick" from now on.
Michelle Yeoh invented the atomic buttdrop. Although still credit to Mark Hunt, because while Michelle's is in the KT range, Mark certaintly improved it to MT.
Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens (2015)
Spaceballs 2: The quest for more money
Something fans of the first Spaceballs waited for so long. Was it worth it? Yes and no.
First of all the title is going to confuse a lot of people. If you do not know Spaceballs you might think this is related to the famous star war trilogy. I do not understand why they did not just call it Spaceballs 2. It's a perfectly good name and everybody knows what to expect. "Spaceball 7: The Force Awakens" would have killed. Much in the same vein Naked Gun did not exactly go in numerical order.
Secondly, why the change in cast? I know John Candy and a couple of others have gone the way of the Dodo, John Candy way too soon of course, but a lot of the original cast is still up and running. I will not believe Bill Pullman and Daphne Zuniga refused to do this. Their chemistry and body language was really something special. Even though Rick Moranis had good reasons to get out, this was long ago and he might have changed his mind. Or he didn't. But what about the the others like George Wyner, Michael Winslow and I could go on. But maybe they were busy or something.
However it was not all bad, hence the "Yes" in the beginning. Harrison Ford absolutely runs the show. When he tells the unfunny black dude, Chris Rock would have been awesome, "that's not how the force works" I didn't laugh out laugh, I atomrofled. Ask your kids. They know what it means. Basically I laughed. Another example where Ford just imploded the comedy plane was the scene where they discuss their plan of attack on planet Spaceballs, which was nicely upgraded by the way. When Ford said "then we disable it. There is always a way.", it being the protective shield of the planet, I almost chocked on my Line Aquavit. Ask your grandparents. They know what it is. That line of Ford was so well delivered. The only thing which would have improved it would have been, if after he said it, ford would have looked in the camera as they did in "Top Secret!". Maybe add a smirk. I actually think the smirk was there, but not in the camera. Anyway great scene. As was the one where he ran punched a guy. I don't know how he did that, but it was comedy platinum.
Everything else was kind of "bla" and forgettable. It was funny how the teeth girl, nice touch btw, discovered the force in the most Mel Brooks way possible. Dark Helmet Mark II was forgettable. Except where the girl schwarz-grabbed his the light saber. Reminded me of the scene, where Lone Star puts his hand on Lord Helmet's Helmet and Lord Helmet cannot reach him. Additional the "Did I leave the stove on or do I have to go to the toilet"-guy delivered a nice ending.
Overall I am looking forward to a more back to the roots Spaceballs 3 or rather "Spaceballs 8: The Force wants just five more minutes".
