Avatar: The Way of Water (2022)
James Cameron is a visionary. This movie was awesome!
Wow, just wow. I saw this movie last
Night and the visuals were stunning and at a level I have never witnessed before.
Avatar is the best 3D graphics I have ever seen in my life. And the level of animation is next level. It's also the best animation ever.
James Cameron is a visionary and a genius.
You have to watch this movie in the theatre and in 3D. Our theatre even had vibrating seats and that so perfectly time. The story line and action were epic. It was very exciting, emotional, and captivating. This was a movie experience. No this is not a paid advertisement. I was just so blown away, which rarely happens with a movie.
Top Gun: Maverick (2022)
The true classic Hollywood summertime movie is back!
Tom Cruise just re-asserted himself as the top global superstar of blockbuster movies! This was an awesome movie and you could argue better than the original, which is a tall order.
The plot paid homage to old characters of the past in a touching way. The action scenes were awesome. This is a movie that needs to be watched on the big screen. We watched it in IMAX and it was great.
10/10. Thank you Tom Cruise for bringing summer back to the world!
House of Ho (2020)
Better than I thought
My wife made me watch this show. I don't like reality TV shows. I have to admit though that I was entertained (for a reality TV show) and kept on watching...to my strange fascination that the storylines were interesting.
Borat Subsequent Moviefilm: Delivery of Prodigious Bribe to American Regime for Make Benefit Once Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan (2020)
Not anywhere as good as the first Borat film!
I was excited to watch this movie, especially seeing all the hype and trailers circulating online. But this second edition was not as funny or original. It was actually kind of mean spirited. Some parts were pretty cringeworthy of how bad the setup was.
- Rudy Giuliani part was a pretty good gotcha.
- the film targeted a women's group who were very supportive of the actress even though they were being duped, that was really cringe.
- the scene where borat sings "Whatcha gonna do" at the outdoor trump rally was pretty funny.
- the scene at the women's clinic was too contrived
- the two guys explaining the clintons drank blood was funny.
- why you dupe every single group but don't dupe the ladies in the synagogue? How come no crass parts there? That was super weak.
- I can see how people who vote republican would view this movie as very biased.
Overall, this is a pretty boring movie, not a lot of laughs. The first movie was so funny, the second movie was pretty boring...
The Devil All the Time (2020)
Not very entertaining but great cast
This movie was a disappointment for me. There definitely was a great cast of actors for the film and they did a fine job acting but the actual story was not for me.
A see a lot of comments about this being a Tarantino-like film but I totally disagree. Tarantino films are entertaining and gripping. This film is neither of those.
The story is dark, morbid and senseless. The film was very slow and dialogue moved slowly.
Upon the ending of the film I was left unsatisfied and also with a feeling of dread. This is not a feel good movie but it wasn't entertaining either so it wasn't for me.
Gisaengchung (2019)
Engaging, well written and totally captivating
In an age of superhero movies (which I love) comes a story that is so captivating and engaging from early on that I hope it wins an Oscar. Unlike other years where the "Oscar buzzy" movies are really drawn out or not that great, this movie is something that everyone can understand and the story flow, twists and turns and commentary on society all are so well done. My wife and I loved this movie. This is definitely a classic.
Ugly Delicious (2018)
Thought provoking and unlike any other food show!
I enjoyed David Chang's new show. It was highly original and entertaining. Sometimes in shoes like this there is a certain point where I get bored. I think he knows that and pokes fun at food shows where they get too over the top on describing food.
This series is called Ugly Delicious because it challenges conventional norms about what is good food. I highly recommend this series and the arguments that David is bringing to the forefront of conversations in North America.
