Wonderful. Good Norwegian action/drama movies are rare.
22 December 2008
It was a great movie. I was not bored for a second! Movies like this could very fast be ruined by to much focus on action, to much focus on drama or all to many characters. This movie handle all the parts very well. It's very good balanced movie. It goes on from 1940-1945 telling the story and feelings of Max Manus, who was a saboteur under the war. Good Norwegian action movies are rare, if you have some fearful memories of bad Norwegian movies, this will change your mind.

None Norwegians: I gave this movie 10, and that may be because I'm a Norwegian and feel this movie in a different way then you. But it's no less then a 8 if I should be harsh. This will most likely "pop" up in your rental store as a DVD with subtitles. If you not used to subtitles it can be hard I know, but it's worth it (And you will hear some German, English and wonderful Norwegian-English in the movie). It's a rental, heck, it's one to own!

So bad it's good
2 June 2008
I think most people who have seen this movie released it was a joke. I don't know if they meant it to be this way, but for me this movie looks like been done bad on purpose. And in this case, it works. The plot is thin, but extremely classic. Ming is fantastic fun to watch. Flash is over played, Yale is fall after 10 min in love with Flash, Dr Zar...Zargto... the smart guy is lovely crazy.

If you don't get humor in this movie after 20 min, turn it off. But if you do get it, you gonna love it.

This movie is made in the 80's, but made as it was in the 30's. If you are a sci fi fan, I say pick it up. I'm sure you gonna find it amusing.

For children and Hugo fans
28 April 2008
The 3th and most likely the last movie with our dear Hugo and Rita. This time they were in 3D. I must admit that I miss the 2D animation.

The story is nice and familiar, a good thing and a bad thing. In the beginning of the movie Hugo is hidding out on an little island in Denmark, with Rita and his human friend Delekaj. It's winter. Rita love the snow, but Hugo is bored and cold. And of course he manage to be discovered by humans again. This time he gets hunted down bye no less then 4 humans with 4 different agendas.

The animation is smooth and cartoon like, so great pluss on that. The animation is not done in Denmark, but in Lativa. Why? It's cheaper I guess.

The music is not as good as the 2 previous movies which had a Jazz tune (not the English dubs though), but Rita sings a lovely song in the middle of the movie.

I will not reveal the plot, but if you love Hugo you gonna like this movie.

Monty Python in Norwegian
14 April 2008
We did not exactly invent the wheel here in Norway, but this humor is Norwegian. The guys making it, was very much inspired by Monty Python.

In this miniseries you will find a lot of abstract humor which don't make a lot of sens, but that is the humor in it.

The story is about 3 brothers who are named Gaus, Roms and Brummen Dal. Dal mean valley and Gaus, Roms and Brummen are valleys in Norway. The 3 brothers are going on an adventure to find the lost explorer Professor Drøvel who explored the unexplored area Overfloden, north for Oslo. As the story goes on there are a lot of gags happening in between the scenes. Doors in the middle of the forest, leading to towns, stores and gags.

If you are a person who like Monty Python, this is maybe something for you. Else if you are a person who needs to get the joke explained, stay away.

A great animated adventure
3 April 2008
It so sad seeing this movie getting so low rating when I know it's all because of that bad American version.

Before you vote on this movie, get a taste of the original Danish voice acting. You will understand why.

In the American version all voice acting, music and sound effects(Yes, they have redone the music, and for the worse I might add) are like keyboard from the 80's quality. While the original Danish version have a Disney quality.

So what about the movie? It's a great movie, that starts on where the first one left off. Rita miss Hugo and Hugo miss Rita, but they are world apart. Fate brings them together again, when Hugo is captured and brought back to Denmark again.

The animation is not as great as the first movie, but still good. The songs gonna be stuck in your brain for some time. The characters are lovelier ever, and you will have a good hour fun.

This is a "one to watch" movie, but I BEG you to see the original Danish version!

Great star trek movie
3 April 2008
I did not think to much about this movie when I saw it the first time. I thought it was good, but it was in the time after I truly began to understand how good it was.

It's a classic story. The Hero feel his time is gone. He feels old and useless, and do nothing except missing the old days. Then an old nemesis comes for revenge, and he will not give up before he gets it. It's a fight between the Hero and the Nemesis, but it's the people around them who have to pay the price.

If you haven't seen this movie, you should really go and rent it or buy it. This is the kind of movie you don't have to be a Star trek fan to enjoy. It's simply great!
