Servant (2019)
Wanted to love, but meh
The atmosphere, the foundation of the story and actor are great. At least as a premise. During the show and how revelations unfold you realize it's just a ver thin surface and that real content is never there. I'm the kind of guy who likes even episodes such as Fly from Breaking Bad that most despise. But this series go on another level. Second season is even worse, with her baby away for the second time and they planning kids tricks to bring him back. So silly, dumb, weak it's unbelievable. I like Shyamalan and I really understand his critics; he never builds his characters, you don't relate or feel nothing for nobody in the series. I though he would have more time to build it on a series rather than on a movie, but he relies on small cuts of and small ideas and never explore the whole thing. It's sad to see how good this could've been.
The Minimalists: Less Is Now (2021)
Great concept, poor "theatrical" speeches
Really liked the concept and connected some disorganized thoughts I already had and now m going to take real actions.
About the documentary itself, I think the speeches soundest really fake. The way they moved theatrically and connected they sad stories didn't convinced me at all.
Anyway, good material overall. Inspired me.
Sanyangeui sigan (2020)
Excellent visuals, poor predictable cliche story
Very good visuals and production, great atmosphere with vibrant colors and a very well stabling world in general. Unfortunately we can't say the same about the story. The decisions and the melodrama for each scene feels naive and even silly. The director tries to create a sense of danger where there's no consequential facts to sustain that. The bad slow motion and the horrible sound track trying to bring emotions where they don't belong, silly silly movie. It's a shame. Production wise it is very solid.
Run (2020)
Really nice movie too watch, until last 5 minutes.
Ok, this is a very balanced movie with some highlights and lowlights. But the absolute last 5 minutes are horrible, that choice to set her revenge seems so 2005, instead of presenting us to her real parents. That kind of easy way to tease and create a suspense out of nowhere and actually portrait vengeance as something nice, is a really bad choice. Sad for the director and writer that had to appeal to such a cliche. Lost 2 stars just because of that.
The Outsider (2020)
Episodes 1 to 7 amazing
How easy a brilliant work can be ruined. The first 7 episodes are amazing, but episodes 8 to 10 are painful and really really bad. The last episode fighting scene at the beginning is one of the worst action scene ever recorded.
The environment though for the entire series make it worth. Jason Bateman direction on first 2 is amazing.
