Mythical Detective Loki Ragnarok (2003)
Ragnarok Rocks!
Mythical Detective Loki Ragnarok is about the dark god Loki who has been banished to modern day Japan by Odin. He then opens a detective agency. Why? You have to watch to find out! It follows along a similar trail laid down by Sailor Moon and Cardcaptor Sakura. He has a magical staff and can detect the powers of the plethora of Norse gods and certain items that crop up from time to time to cause trouble. Befriended by a crazy, slightly annoying school girl Mayura, and taken care of by dedicated servant Yamino, who isn't all that he seems. Yes, the show can be childlike at times, but soon you will be up to your ears in Norse mythology and enjoying every minute of it! Grey Ayres and Chris Patton do a wonderful job portraying Heimdall and Thor, and Monica Rial is cute as Frey's flying mechanical boar.
This is a must for any fan of cute, funny, and zany anime's!
SLC Punk! (1998)
A Contradiction of Sorts
I really dig this movie, even though I was never a punk. I first saw it with a group of friends, and it quickly became the clique flick. Matthew Lillard was absolutely great in this movie. In his pre- Scream work, he shows his talent, and then some. Michael Goorijan was really the high point of the movie. Bob's cynical attitude and his take on drugs was hysterical. And Annabeth Gish was amazing. I appreciated the movie for being both true and a contradiction. Throughout the movie, you see this pattern, to his conversation with Chris on order and chaos, to Stevo's confession at the end. The movie does get a little dull in areas, particularly when Bob and Stevo are at Mark's, and When Bob, Trish, and Stevo are at the Salt Flats, but over all the film is precise, hilarious, and it really does make you think of the contradiction and vigor of anarchy and anarchists. 9/10
Big Money Hustlas (2000)
A Movie for Lo's and Lette's
This movie is definitely a movie for the juggalo's, but it can be seen my anyone who has a sense of humor. Shags does a great job of impersonating the characters of the blaxplotation movies, and Violent J is just a great bad guy. Poot and Stank are the typical bumbling sidekicks that you love to love. This movie is just awesome for anytime watching and trust me, if you are a juggalo, this is a movie you be hitting the rewind button over and over again. Clown love, er'yone! Woo-Woo!
