Wicked Lake (2008)
1/10
Amateurish, Boring, All over the place, and PAINFUL TO SIT THROUGH.
10 October 2008
Words cannot describe how terrible this "film" is. I would honestly rather watch House of the Dead four times in a row than ever sit through this garbage again. The girls are hot, there are couple of steamy, but brief, lesbian sex scenes -- but they are not worth a rental or even the time it would take to skip to them on an online copy of the film. The acting from Marc Senter (The Lost) is excruciatingly horrible and the filmmakers just wasted his talent. The plot makes no sense and I can't tell if they were trying to make the film comical or disturbing. It is NOT disturbing in the least and if it was supposed to be comedic, a film about a transvestite spewing "Yo Momma Jokes" for the entire runtime would be more entertaining and humorous than WICKED LAKE. The cinematography in the film is terrible and it looks like the director forgot to clean the camera lens because there are an alarmingly vast amount of noticeable water marks in certain scenes and the picture is washed and incredibly grainy. The acting is beyond awful, the score is OKAY, the plot (I stress that word) sounded cool, but the movie is not. What's even worse is that the filmmakers actually think they made a good movie, which they didn't. (At least they were kind enough to spare us with the numerous fake IMDb accounts tactic claiming this to be the greatest horror film ever made.) It looks like anyone can make a film these days, so grab your friends, any object that has a camera, and get to work!

THE WORST MOVIE OF 2008, HANDS DOWN.

A complete waste of $17 & and hour and a half.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Pretty Good--just a few small plot holes.
17 August 2008
I found this film to be pretty dang suspenseful and I thought the acting was remarkably good for such a low-budget indie feature. I thought the director pulled off the shining them very well and i would fully trust him with a remake of the shining. The only problem with the film was that the picture quality wasn't that great. it was still decent, though. i think that this film is better than Saw (yeah, bring on the haters) and I don't understand the low ratings. make sure to check out this fun-filled horror filled with suspense, terror, and a creepy feel. the corn maize was creepy and super unsettling. it's a shame the third installment was terrible and i can't wait to see the sequel to this film.

Triloquist (2008)

The most original American horror film of the year.
16 August 2008
It's not a sequel or a remake, and sadly, is the most original American horror film of the year. I thought Paydin LoPachin who played Angelina was excellent and wish her an accomplished film career. The dummy was hilarious and the music was awesome too. I came into this with negative expectations and was pleasantly surprised. The people who hated this flick were ones who actually took this seriously. The film wasn't made to be taken seriously--just like LEPRECHAUN. This is better than LEPRECHAUN in my opinion and I have seen in FOURTEEN TIMES and it hasn't gotten old. Am I obsessed? Probably--the reason being is because it is the most original American horror film of the year which is frankly quite depressing. Hollywood is really lazy and remaking all of these great classics is completely unnecessary and stupid. Go into this with bad expectations and leave feeling pleased with this light comedic horror which is laugh-out-loud funny.

Kung Fu Panda (2008)

Absolutely terrifying! Edge-of-your seat suspense and a hot, young cast of Pandas!!!
1 August 2008
I entered the theater not knowing what to expect, and received a first-rate, terrifying chiller. The pandas gave spectacular performances, and it would be a real shocker if one of them doesn't get nominated for an Oscar. The only problem I had with this film was that the pandas showed an alarmingly large amount of nakedness which is not suitable for young viewers. (Would it have honestly killed Dreamworks to have put some clothes on those things? Anyway, the cinematography is astounding, the directing is crisp, and the pandas made every scene believable as heck. I hope one day in the near future I can meet the fine cast of pandas who delivered such amazing performances. My favorite part was when the main girl panda karate- chopped her mother's head off. First rate chills and thrills!!!
