Missing (2012)
Clichés and incredible views of Europe
I won't repeat what others have said, as that is a bit boring While I can't fault the action, just about everything in the pilot is incredible. -just a few examples - a student can afford a posh apartment in the most touristy part of Rome - the streets are empty at night and almost during daytime... Whaty? Have a look at Top Gear in Rome, that is far more realistic. - instead of going onto pagesjaunes or societe.com on her mobile (the official register of commerce in France with EVERY address in it, the 'agent' ,speaking mock French, calls a company who reply in horrible sortof intelligible French with an English accent, not finding anything suspicious in it ... excuse me any normal person would have pretended to be the driver, would have looked up the address within seconds etc. If the person to reply has a bad accent, it would be anything BUT English.
- Paris is never as clean as that. Or lonely, or quiet. The water of the Seine is very mucky, not transparent. No Graffity, no posters, no crowds? You must be kidding.
- No women in her right state of mind would run through an antique town with cobblestones wearing those shoes. They would have been torn within 100 steps :)
Glengarry Glen Ross (1992)
very boring, low budget movie
Greek Drama? outstanding? working man's life? are you taking the Michael?? we just sat through 1h40 of bad language and no story we could make out. I have never been s disappointed with such great actors, but than there may be a deeper meaning behind it that totally escaped me. Parents: The language is simply appalling and even though I have spent ten years of my working life in factories and the last 10 years in and with garages, none of the people I have met had similar manners. to try a summary of the plot is not easy, A group of pathetic liars try to sell dodgy real estate using a mix of waffle and trickery. the are themselves confronted with a working environment which makes the job of a loo attendant seem very desirable. Bt then again these men don't really work in the true sense of the word, they just try to coax people to sign contracts. Their methods become more desperate during the 24 hours shown in the story.. and that is more or less it. a waste of time.
The Foreigner (2003)
bullets and explosions mark an incomprehensible tale
Why on earth does five US keep repeating this one? the title actually says it all: the plot is as clear as a book read in a language you never heard of and that resembles to nothing.
You'll see ninety minutes of changing locations, most of them will be blown up later on in the movie. Right in the beginning you see a nice little farm typical for the Berry, which is in the movie moved close to Paris but then it does not survive the "transport" to the Isle de France very well: it explodes 1 minute later. there are also two gangster who have no tongues, as if that would make sense in the world of SMS and internet, let alone pencil and paper.
It just goes on like that, nothing makes sense in this story. my only credit goes to the cameraman, the camera is excellent.
