Blue Crush 2 (2011 Video)

Not that bad, not the best bet, I'd still want to watch it again
9 February 2012
This movie was fun for me. I saw adds for this on TV and the fact that is was straight to DVD made me doubt it's potential, but being a fan of the original I figured I give it a chance, so when I saw this on Netflix I thought it'd be something to watch to pass the time. I was impressed by it, granted it definitely wasn't the greatest acting and lines were cheesy here and there but I did enjoy it.

It was an entirely different story from the first and I enjoyed that fact, they weren't trying to continue off a story that people forgot about a decade ago. The story is about a California girl trying to find her own and the only way she knows how is to retrace her mother's surfing footsteps in South Africa, with only a picture album to go on she flies SA and starts her journey, but it's not as simple as she thought it be and immediately doubts herself and her journey. However she manages to make new friends that help her with her goal to walk in her mother's footsteps.

I find movies like this really entertaining, they know they won't be making the Oscar's or win awards but they do the best they can. It's a very chill and relaxing film, paying homage to most surf films which is basically a "chill or be chill" vibe which in it's own right is a very attractive scenario, at least for me.

I give this film 8 because the acting isn't the best and it get's cheesy in some parts but overall this is a great film it's worth a watch if you like surfer flicks and it's something relaxing enough to watch on a lazy day. Like I said in the title, not the best but I'm still going to watch it again.

Refreshingly Noir
15 April 2011
Refreshingly Noir, thats what I think of when I watch this movie. Its a good old school conspiracy theory mystery with only one man who can see past the smoke screen that the conspirator/s throw in front of everyones faces.

I love the fact that its done in a spoof way taking elements like making the backdrop a high school, turning characters into classic Noir characters, eg. the principal = mayor. And the fact that the actors push their lines too much making it overly dramatize fueling the parody of it all; which makes it all so very humorous.

Also, like most mystery movies, you continuously second guess who did the crime because the movie makes twists and turns that put you to the edge of the seat until just before it all wraps up, you figure out the true person/s behind it all and watch as the past hour of questions and back stepping all unravel in front of you into the perfect crime.

Over all, this is a movie to see; its spoofs Film Noir but also praises it with the execution of the acting, the script, and even the camera work giving you those angles that make any movie way more eerier. Straight to DVD cant stop this movie, its truly a mystery to see, refreshingly Noir.

Now all we need is for a real Film Noir movie to come around soon.

Stoked (2009–2013)

Maybe I'm the only one, but this show ain't really that bad
24 April 2010
First and foremost I would like to point out that this is in fact a show for children, the reason I say this is because a lot of the people bashing this show are older than 17, who want to see more shows like Megas XLR or Samurai Jack; and I can't blame them, those were pretty cool shows. I mean is this the greatest show that cartoon network has ever put out? No. Is this show better than most of the shows on cartoon network presently? Yes.

Now to the show itself. Stoked is a story about six teens and their not so wonderful summer jobs on the majestical Sunset Island. They spend their summer working at Ridgmount Resort which turns out to be more than they bargained for, the hours are bad, the uniforms suck, and their manager isn't the nicest of people, but they de-stress by surfing the choicest waves when they don't have to work. Overall just a basic summer working on an island resort.

Now I'm not going to say that this show is going to beat out Samurai Jack or other great cartoon network shows, but I would definitely prefer to watch this over Chowder or The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack.

At the end of the day I give it a 7 out of 10. It's somewhat unique but I do loose interest after awhile, good show to have on when your doing stuff around the house though

A mix of horror/mystery/Film Noir-ish/weird bondage gore?
25 March 2010
This series is definitely unique, I don't think I've ever seen anything like it, I did enjoy it though. It was hard to follow in some places, confusing in others, and just freaking weird all around.

The series revolves around Rin Asogi, a immortal P.I. who keeps getting tangled up in a supernatural conspiracy that involves her more than she knows.

There is a lot of weird twists and turns in the story that honestly keep you confused, even after the end. After watching it once, I suggest you watch it a second time, just to get a better understanding. The thing I like most about this series though is that it jumps right into this "world" and doesn't waste time with character development or how everything works, it just lets you figure it out on your own.

I read somewhere that it is a "Tech-Noir" series, I don't know exactly what that means but what I think it means is that even though it's not in the 40's-50's it still holds a Film Noir mood and it does feel like an old mystery movie.

Throughout the whole series there is intense female nudity and graphic bondage, and rape that isn't put in subtly, but it all ties into the plot so it's not just put in there for fun.

Finally, I add that you will either love this series or get so confused you don't like it. But I suggest you watch it, cause it is shockingly original and it's pretty awesome in it's own way.

Kings (2009)

Really Good Show
16 March 2009
This was a really good show. First off because they have a good cast, granted the only one I knew about was Ian McShane, but nonetheless they were really good actors. The story is unique but also old plot as well. It was knew with the whole 'King' idea which seems to be in a parallel universe, not talking about sci-fi just that we don't have that here. It is a good show that I really enjoyed, I would mind seeing this on for at least a couple of seasons.

I'd wish I could say more but that would be spoiling it for those who haven't seen it yet. All I can say that it is a very enjoyable show that needs to live on. Watch it, that's all I can end with

Surfer, Dude (2008)

Every surf movies ever made is nothing compared to this one
1 February 2009
This is an awesome surfer movie...blue crush, North Shore, point break, and all the rest are good but this hits the top.

This is the story of one surfer trying to live life with the least amount of anything but surfing. His agency wants him to be something else, a living movie advertisement, but he refuses to do so. This story doesn't need any epic plot, no epic love/drama, no fights or controversy. the reason this movie doesn't appeal to most is because they wanted the complicating story line but that's not what this movie is about. It's about surfing and smoking weed and just living life 'j.k. livin' means just keep livin. I recommend this movie to all people that just want to chill for an hour and a half.

I love this movie, I wanted to just jump into the movie and exist in it, cause there wasn't any major thing going on it was just life without the complexity.

Twilight (I) (2008)
10/10
All right ya'll it was a good movie
2 December 2008
I see a lot of comments on this page on how it was a terrible movie because a lot of things aren't parallel to the book, but when was a movie turned book ever exactly word for word. All I am saying is that it was a lot better than some books that turn into movies The acting was a bit off, definitely not academy award worthy but it was still alright, nothing too bad. Have you seen some of these movies on the Hallmark channel or LMN, terrible stuff, twilight has better acting than that.

I felt the same mood as the book as I was watching this, yeah I'm a fan of the books, and to be honest I loved the fourth installment of the series; as a apposed to all the other people that hated it. It had the same exact vibe, and the Cullens were a great depiction of the book.

Most importantly ya'll, it is a teen romance; it's gonna have sappy dialogue and unrealistic aspects. I mean give it a chance for what it is. At first I didn't like it either, I really did hate, but I thought about it for a bit and I really did enjoy the movie, could they of made it better, of course. Should they make the second one differently, most definitely. But I'm not going to wine and complain and bash on the movie just because it wasn't exactly what I wanted.

If you haven't seen the movie yet go see it, get your own opinion on the movie. If you have seen and hated, try giving it a chance, whats the worst that could happen. And if your one of those people that enjoyed it, try to be as encouraging as possible and don't let anyone bring you down.

It was good & decent enough
23 July 2008
I wont give this a standing ovation but I will give it a well deserved 'good job' It was a good film, visually it was good, different than normal(nowadays that's a good thing in my book) had a very big sci-fi feel but that is good.

The eight out of ten was for two reasons. One it was very choppy at times, which means it didn't run smoothly, at points you wonder 'why such a jump'. The second reason is because it really didn't let the characters grow, which makes hard to have any connection with any of them.

Over all it was a really good film, I would recommend people to watch it at least once to see if you like it, personally I liked it and I would love to have this in my movie collection.
