The Morning Show: Confirmations (2021)

Horrendous Acting and Writing
31 October 2022
The car scene with Alex is so cringeworthy and badly overacted. Not a single sincere teardrop or even any signs of real anguish. It is so bad.

Then there is the whole Mia scene explaining why she feels the way she does-again badly acted and written.

The bit with Bradley's brother in the cafeteria with people just coming in as spectators is unreal and gimmicky.

The only saving grace in this travesty of an episode is Billy Crudup. He owns his lines, his character and dominates every scene he is in without overdoing it and playing it as sincerely as it is possible. I am sorry he did not win an Emmy.

The Split (2018–2022)

The 'quiet brutality of a divorce´ beautifully captured, gently explored and the wisdom of it all.

I am so captivated by this show's ability to portray the subtle and daily nuances of all the stages of a marriage breakdown and the aftermath. This was something I have not seen on the screen ever.

Thank God for women writers who don't reduce the show to stereotypes and are able to tell a story from an authentic and yet entertaining manner. I see many have commented on this show as poor. Well I want to see what they're watching and giving great reviews to.

My favourite part was the end. Nicola Walker is amazing and is supported with a very able cast.

If this was a film, it should have won an Oscar. Ok at least a nomination.

Watch it to be uplifted

I can see a few reviews here of people who are so aghast and insulted that someone that is so happy, kind and optimistic should host a food show-I mean aren't we all supposed to be happy when we taste something new and exciting?

I love this show!

So many unlikeable candidates with zero growth along the way

I really couldn't be bothered who won and who didn't as nobody in this show was someone you would emotionally invest in-there was no journey to go on and see anyone and transform for the better. Bleh.

Completely redundant, lacking motive and barely engaging

This doco probably intended initially to cash in on the Wild Wild Country series success However if you were considering watching this because you had many unanswered and legitimate questions don't bother because it's not to be found here or even explored.

There is one moment that to me came close to getting an insight into this person but that was fleeting and rare.

Facts are indeed stranger than fiction with this series

I am amazed how much of our current political news cycle looks like the one in this series that was penned almost a decade ago. Fantastic show! So refreshing to watch women play parts of normal people instead of always being in the margins or existing only to serve as a temporary distraction. Great performances by the whole cast. We all desperately need a Brigitte Nyborg in the world today.

I thought the bad reviews of Kerry might be an exagerration, until I watched the show!ª

I just dont think people are so overtly dramatic with their facial expressions to the point of it being farcical just because there is a need to convey inner pain and anguish. Just ask any of the great actresses we have watched convey the same with a huge capacity for self restraint and authenticity. Example of Cate Blanchet in Blue Jasmine, Emma Thompson in Sense and Sensibility and The Remains fo the Day.... I could not watch past episode 4 without fast forwarding the parts that had Kerry Washington hamming it like never before.

Not quite up to the mark

Whilst Abby is wonderful and totally deserving of all that the Fab Five showered upon her, her story was just not worthy to qualify the attention or the help. This was not a case of anyone on the brink of a breakdown or stuck in a rut for years or even somebody that really needed the help of the Fab Five. Also very bland an episode without eliciting any sort of emotion which is a landmark of the show.

Lazy writing, way too many montages of Ricky sad and contemplative in one episode

Not sure why the show assumes the audience cannot handle nuances. We can. A huge disappointment to watch every character as a stereotype.
