An insult to fans of the franchise
17 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Even the Rob Zombie reboot had more redeeming qualities than this and I hated those. I can't believe Jamie Lee Curtis agreed to be in this sorry excuse for a Halloween movie.

It is NOT scary or suspenseful, it is NOT funny and none of the characters' actions make sense. Michael Myers has a sidekick now, are you kidding me? He's hiding in the sewers like Pennywise?

The plot was just so bad and nonsensical it made me want to smoke for the first time in years. It's like the writers forgot what people liked about the previous movies and just wrote this script for a quick buck with no regards to the quality.

One of the three points I gave this is for the kitchen scene near the end. That was cool.

Goosebumps? check - Heart rate up? check
30 October 2020
I strongly believe the people who didn't get scared while watching this either lack empathy, or like my girlfriend were not really following and played with their phones throughout the movie.

This project proves low budget does not equal a bad movie. If you pay attention and try to put yourself in the characters' positions and listen to all the little noises and stuff you're in for a ride.

I rate movies based on how they make me feel, not on how much they cost to produce or what other people are saying about it. People involved in the production of this movie seem to really understand their target audience. Absolutely terrifying. Perfect for Halloween.

I could only watch 58 minutes
9 August 2020
Not because the file was incomplete, but because these are some of the unfunniest 'comedians' I ever had the displeasure of watching. I smiled 3 or 4 times in almost an hour.

Jackass 3.5 (2011 Video)
9/10
Back to the good old days ...
10 June 2011
I can honestly say this is better than Jackass 3D. The main commentary I keep hearing about Jackass 3D is that it felt forced. The stunts were too far-fetched and although it was still a cool movie, it just wasn't as funny as the old stuff. I liked the movie and laughed at most bits but I personally got the feeling that it was over, the novelty had worn off and it was the end of Jackass. But Jackass 3.5 is different. The pranks are back, the feeling of comradery is back and they went back to the style of stunts that made them popular many many years ago. The stunts are simpler and dumber than in Jackass 3D, they're the kind of stunts we got to know them with, and it's that style of stunts we love. The group is back together, and I'm sure all Jackass fans will love it. This movie brings back a lot of memories. There isn't much else to say, see it for yourself and laugh your *ss off !

Booh! (2005–2008)

Fun to watch.
21 February 2010
I'm not saying the performances are THAT good but it's certainly a fun show to watch. It has a lot of humor and outspoken characters. I'm not a kid anymore but I still like watching it every week. And so does my little brother, he always looks forward to seeing this. Don't watch it for the intelligent dialogue, it's a show to sit back and have a few laughs and to kind of take you back to your childhood when you were afraid of ghosts and haunted houses. I don't understand the rating of 6.5 , what did you expect ? A masterpiece ? It's still mainly a kids show but people from every age-category can enjoy it. I give it 8 / 10 for the overall package.

District 9 (2009)
10/10
Even if you're not a sci-fi fan !
9 September 2009
Let me start off by saying that I began watching this with a little suspicion because I'm not usually in to sci-fi movies. I also watch a LOT of movies so I've seen almost everything there is to see when it comes to different kinds of movies and I'm not easily impressed.

This movie is not all about shooting, not all about plasma-guns and all the other stereotypes you usually see in movies like star wars, etc (no offence). No, it's about human nature and the way we act around beings we don't know and don't understand. We want to make everyone change to benefit ourselves, some because they don't know better, others because of sheer cruelty and bad character. In District 9, the bad get separated from the good. Don't get me wrong though, it's not all emotions, there's still plenty of action and suspense and let me tell you, the action junkies will get their share of the fun too. I personally feel these two elements are perfectly blended together. Enough action, enough suspense, enough emotions AND MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL: it shows two sides to the story, as opposed to Independence Day where we only get to see the human side of it (again, no offence). I'm not going to say anything about the plot, you can read about that in the summary if you want to. All I can do is tell you it touched me, it really opened my eyes to human nature. That we think we know everything better than others and often don't give the unknown a chance.

There's no annoying camera movement (note: in the beginning it's filmed in a somewhat documentary-style), the script was just good and surprisingly original, the acting even better and you get really drawn in to the story.

Overall rating: 10/10, maybe a 9/10. All I know is I've rarely seen a movie like this and I understand why this is already in the top 250 movies of all time. Give it a chance, no matter what genre you prefer.

Passengers (2008)
6/10
Very watchable, just not a masterpiece.
5 January 2009
I'd like to start off by saying I began watching this movie with a little suspicion, because I checked the ratings here and they weren't really high.

Well, my suspicion wasn't necessary. This movie isn't all about action, explosions and that sort of things. What is does have is a heart, it shows the bond between people and it explains why that bond takes place. Just not in a corny way, this is more of a mix between real-life personalities, suspension, and a big plot-twist at the end kind of like Hitchcock did back in the days. Just not that elaborate. Some comments on this movie say that it lacks originality, but what movie doesn't do that these days ? Almost everything has already been done over and over again.

As concerns the quality of acting, it's just good. Nothing more but certainly nothing less. It's nice to see Anne Hathaway play a different sort of role, besides comedy. Her co-star Patrick Wilson also performs on a high wire. Andre Braugher and David Morse are good at supporting roles and thats is simply what they did in this one. You can't say that the acting wasn't good, therefore I feel sorry that it hasn't been properly promoted because it would have had some potential to getting to be a popular movie.

Conclusion: Like I said in the beginning, it's good, just not a masterpiece. I suggest you watch it and go with the flow, you won't regret it.
