Aston 6 is BACK!
16 September 2014
I showed up 9:15 AM at TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival) to watch the editor. I went into the movie only seeing the poster. I am a huge fan of Astron 6 and I wanted to be surprised once I saw the movie.

Plot: Rey Cisco (Adam Brooks) is the longtime film editor, who is editing a schlock crime thriller film circa 1980. But starting with the leading actor, someone starts killing the cast and crew. Though, in typical giallo fashion, everyone acts suspiciously, macho police detective Peter Porfiry (Matthew Kennedy) trains his eye on meek Rey, against whom the case does look pretty bad.

Now if you haven't heard/seen the Giallo Italian crime films then you will have a problem understanding the style in which the film was shot. Bad intentional dubbing, amazing use of color lighting, gore effects. Everything about this film was top notch. It is a low budget dark comedy, only shot with $150,000. Astron 6's earlier film "Father's Day" (2011) was only shot for less than $10,000. They used the money they had well, and made an amazing movie.

The only con I had with the movie was it slowed down on a couple of parts, that's it. Everything else was great. It was a great homage/parody to trashy Giallo films. Adam Brooks, Matthew Kennedy, and Coonor Sweeney showed up after the movie for a Q&A I got a picture with them and amazing actress Sheila Campbell. I suggest you check this film out once it has an official release.

From Toronto- Michigan to watch this film
1 February 2014
Yes this is true. I love PEPLUM films and when it says coming to theatres everywhere I really wanted to see it. But it was only given a US release. I was going to michigan for work so I used this as an advantage to go see the movie.

Lets start with the positives. Liam Mcntyre as Sotiris the General brought real emotion to the film 10/10 performance. Scott Adkins did a decent job as the evil King 7/10. Even the character Chiron played by Rade Serbedzija 8/10. The sets for Argos and Tyran were believable, and the villages. The fight scenes were good for pg 13.

But everything else was a letdown and rushed. Every time the Movie took a step forwards, after it would take 2 steps back. The costumes looked like halloween costumes, Kellen lutz and the rest of the cast are terrible at bringing any emotion to the movie. I don't blame them, Kellen tried as Hercules. The setting and terminology they used was so historically bad I wanted to cry.

The Director brought the movie down with terrible CGI, and camera movement. The script was bad also. Renny tried to make a Peplum film but fell short. Granted He did give it a try and tipped his hat to Steve Reeves as the real Hercules. What annoys me most is that the budget for this is 70 MILLION DOLLARS!! THE EXACT SAME AS 300. It looked like it was shot for 8 Million. Where was the rest of the money spent? I don't know but I can say this safely that if your in the right mindset, you might kind of enjoy this movie. but wait for Brett Ratners version

Funniest film ever.
27 January 2012
yes. Tim and Eric are back but this time they hit the big screen... or my home TV i watched it last night and i have to say..... Great Job

Basically Tim and Eric are given a billion dollars to make a movie by the Schlaaang corporation, but waste it. Their lives at stake, the guys skip town in search of a way to pay the money back. They try to rehabilitate a bankrupt mall full of vagrants, bizarre stores and a man-eating wolf that stalks the food court in order to get enough money to pay back what they owe.

This movie is mostly for Tim and Eric fans but i think even if your not a fan you will love the movie. This film has so many funny jokes and little skits. Besides them being tasteless it was a great film and i cant wait to see it on the big screen March 2nd

For a low budget Vietnam film... IT WAS AWESOME!!!!!!!
24 July 2010
Warning: Spoilers
Phantom soldiers is probably my favorite war movie.. Many people would have considered this a 4.5/10 movie but i give it a 9/10...

The plot of this movie is: Daniel Custer, a Texas ranger who works for the pentagon. His brother get's missing in action in Vietnam and Daniel goes there to get him home again. But the big problem is The Phantom Soldiers! It's a bunch of highly trained, sadistic unknown soldiers in black clothes and gas masks that kills everything they see. And take Daniel's little brother as their prisoner!

I love the plot... I love the action... But the acting was a disappointment :( only 7 characters in this film did a great job acting while the rest failed.

THIS MOVIE IS LEGENDARY FOR IT'S OPENING SCENE... (this contains spoilers) In the beginning the phantom soldiers completely destroying and killing everybody in the village including women and children... Every Hut is blown up all men, women and children die and the phantom soldiers make there presence deadly.

Right now i'm at a film school and in the future i am going to remake this film....

I say watch Phantom soldiers and buy it online at www.revengeismydestiny.com
