Enjoy all types of media and big advocate for the individual mind in writing and directing a film. Actually like subtitled films, big fan of the director Andrzej Wajda, check out Kanał (1956)or Człowiek z marmuru (Man of Marble, 1977) are 2 films made under Soviet occupation. Both changed my life as a Polish-American and as a human being.

The Guest House (2016)
Thought it was ok until sad shock 2nd half
The character Max beats a dog to death and it turned my stomach.
A Very Sordid Wedding (2017)
A very great disappointment
Seems to have been written during a major hangover with no edits and put out there. Stream of consciousness dribble go every which way. Cannot tell you have let down I was and almost embarrassed for writer it was so bad. Film was not a good idea, dated and everyone looks like they got pulled through a bush backwards.
Yo soy la felicidad de este mundo (2014)
Bad, muy malo. Run, don't walk away from this movie
If you look up bad film in the dictionary this movie would be listed. I was looking forward to seeing this and watched it with my husband. He looked at me halfway through the movie and asked if it was a joke. Excruciatingly difficult to watch and hold your attention. If there is someone you don't like, recommend this movie and expect an angry face next time you see them.
Beatriz at Dinner (2017)
Great movie until last scene
The movie was like having a finely made dinner and getting a store- brand Popsicle for dessert. Leaves you asking "what the hell". Really cannot suggest this movie. As someone married to a man of color, Native-American, it touched on some squirmy subjects that need to be addressed. White-privilege, destroying the world we live in and many small things that we tend to overlook. Really got into it and then a C+ film school ending. What a great disappointment.
Afflicted (2013)
Great movie, you never see what is coming until it's too late
38 minutes in and I locked the doors and windows. very well done and very believable. I really felt it was going in a travelogue direction and was wondering what the afflicted was, and BOOM, it smacks you in the face. Great job tying earlier incidents into developing story. The hospital scene is when you know this is more than travel sickness, it's vampire business. Will he turn on his travel partner, you'll have to watch. Heard it was made for under $100K, you'd never know it. Like other reviewers have said, it makes Blair Witch look weak. Have to give credit to all involved, scared the snot out of me, lift your feet off the floor so the bogeyman can't get you scary. I'll write more if I survive the fright, I mean night.
BearCity (2010)
It's OK, promotes the fat minority and mocks the healthy bears
Was disappointed that once again the Big & Beautiful crowd have hijacked the whole Bear concept. Yes there are morbidly obese Bears out there but they do not make up the majority like this film projects. Anyone healthy is made fun of, anyone who wants to live a few years longer and lose weight is looked upon with disdain. There was some really goodlooking guys in the film, and the Muscle Bears were good to see. If you go anywhere in the world you will see guys with paunches, but not anywhere near the obese sloths like this movie portrays. Most of the guys you see in Europe and Asia are healthy, hairy and unashamed masculine. This movie is catty queens in flannel.
Julie & Julia (2009)
Great movie, especially for cooks
I have to write that when Mario Batali is mentioned in the movie there was a very strong wave of laughter and comments "...what a joke", "...he's not in that league" went through the theater. I do agree. /I do not think the writers meant it to be a joke. Maybe if they had put some pine nuts on it and made up an Italian village nobody has heard of it would have worked./ Really good contrast of Julie's grungy Queens/Long Island City, NY & Julia Child's Paris. Sorry to read Julia Child thought it was opportunistic and somehow using her and her name to gain notoriety. I think it was a homage to Julia and towards the very end of the movie Julie gives a clear answer for why she went on this quest.
B.T.K. (2008)
The lead actor is pretty scary
Yeah, it's a semi-pro attempt @ the story, but just seeing all the bad facelifts on the nobody actresses and the way the tension of the story keeps you going (even though you know the ending) is worth it. The lead actor playing Dennis is pretty good, and a decent set of guns on him as well. The way his scars in real life were not covered up was a good idea. Makes you wonder if that was part of the story until you read the bio on the actor. Bad acting is everywhere, but how many people want to be in a movie about a serial killer. Not a date movie that's for sure. I'll never leave my car parked 1/2 way in my driveway blocking the sidewalk after seeing this movie...lol
