Tekken: Buraddo benjensu (2011)
Tekken fans will get what they want.
As a fan of the tekken games in my younger years, i have always kept the tekken games in my heart. Just the thought of tekken on the PSONE makes me get all nostalgic about the franchise. I saw the tekken movie from last year and was really looking forward to that one. It satisfied me quite a bit, but I felt it could have had much more potential. And hearing about this one got me all hyped up. Seeing the trailers got me really curious, specially Xiaoyu & Alysa, i love those 2 characters.
But now to the point. You can see that this movie is a wink to the fans, however it is a bit clumsy and predictable at some times. The dialog can get pretty corny too, but it doesn't ruin the whole experience. The visuals are neat and the combat is great. There are parts in the story that i would like to call plot holes, but we have to keep in mind, this is a game to movie conversion and a lot lies behind the background of the characters. And that changes a lot. I halted for a moment and realised that they did pretty good, considering this is a game. If you have enjoyed any tekken games in your life, i would advise you to see this. Even if you haven't played any of them, this is a great way to get in the mood for Tekken.
Oh, and gotta love the panda !!!
Kick-Ass (2010)
The Movie You've Always Been Dreaming Of !!!
A good month ago I saw the trailers of kick-ass and then i just knew it. This movie was going to ROCK. Never in my life have I watched such a genius movie. The makers just said F*ck to everything and they just did their thing. The balance between Action, Comedy & Touchy Drama was PERFECT!
The Actors/Actresses were chosen greatly. No one could of the played the role of Kick-Ass better than Aaron Johnson. Nicolas Cage was a perfect choice to play Big-Daddy. And off course, the O so cute Chloe Moretz. She was so cool as Hit-Girl. The thing that makes it so cool, is that it is never done before. A goddamn 12 year old killing bad guys, that just rocks (!I reject disgusting-thoughts!). Now i have to say the action did stay very 'Comic-like', so being the fact it's a 12 year old,it's nothing to get disturbed about. If you really don't want your kids (at least 11!) to see this movie, then it will be for Hit-Girl saying words like: C*NT, C*CK, A-hole and um ... Dumb-ass.
Other characters like Red-Mist (Christopher Mintz-Plasse) and Frank D'Amico (Mark Strong) are just the perfect choice. And the Music, I LOVED IT. Really epic sounds, that make the movie complete. (I love the song of Mika, by the way)
I would say just go see this movie. It can satisfy everyone, if it is the Music, Action, Acting, or whatever. The surprises are on the other side of the door...
This has become my favorite movie of 2010, if not of all times!!!
Carriers (2009)
Worth seeing for sure
I have to say this movie is pretty good. Yes, Off course it's not your daily zombie film, but it's original. At the end, i said to myself that it was a bit boring and ordinary. But this is what makes it special. OK, It's not Superman saving the day by shooting down 100s of zombies to then save humanity, NO. But this was realistic. If this would happen to us in real life, these situations would be possible. You can call it a Drama/Thriller. The scene that struck me most was with the daughter, that is sad. Each roll has it's good-written personality.
I would recommend to see it, as long as you know what your expecting.
