Ghosted (I) (2017)
It started great and became a different show after episode 9
31 December 2019
The way this show was handled is an enigma. It started as a funny spoof of sci-fi series with inventive and funny scenarios. Then, after episode 9, out of the blue, the show became mediocre. It started following a complicated uninteresting plot, the jokes disappeared and the authors also killed the vibe between the main characters. Adam Scott and Craig Robinson are very capable actors, brilliant comedians, their chemistry was promising but it all disappeared. I don't know if the total change of orientation of the show is due to the brilliant mind of a marketing genius, or any other studio executives, or if for an unknown reason the writers resigned, but this move killed a perfectly viable show. I don't remember seeing anything like that before: a show going from very good to totally rotten in a snap. I'd be curious to know what happened. Anyway this is too bad.

Boyhood (I) (2014)

Technical prowess gives birth to an empty shell
13 September 2015
Warning: Spoilers
The movie is beautifully shot and to see this boy grow old in front of us is incredible yet what is an amazing starting point for a movie project falls short as there's simply no plot to the movie other than this. The story of this boy is extremely conventional, despite the will of the director to bring some drama to it via the complicated relationship between the parents. So in the end it feels like a attempt to appeal on everyones nostalgia, showing memories most of us, white, middle-class people, share and objects from the past we all cared for like a gameboy, etc... I actually couldn't go through the whole movie as I was bored to death and quickly understood that the prowess of seeing this boy grow old on camera was the only interesting fact of the movie.
