Silent Hill (2006)

A small Town in West Virginia has a Dark Dark Past!!

I am not even going to lie, when the Vidoe game came out i was was scared poopless. After beating the game I turned to my brother who was in the room and said "They are going to make a movie on this beast" and some 7 years later look what happened, I also Predicted Doom, Wolfenstein 3D, Resident Evil, and AVP< Horrible, Horrible Film, out of those 4 were made and all but Silent Hill sucked(I was entertained by Doom,& Evil) You don't even have to Know that Silent his was a Video game to love the movie, shoot 60 of the viewers in the theater were Girls aged 12-20 I know they wasn't playing game when it came out. I am 21 years old and have seen my fare share of Scary movies and only two have creeped me out. Event Horizen and Silent Hill. This movie is CREEPY and SCARY your never going to Forget the movie as long as you Live, its unforgettable. Man I liked every part of the movie and I never in a Million years predicted the Gore!!!!!! Jeeze I was like ouch ouch!!! The really crazy thing is though even though this movie goes high on gore you don't even realize it doesn't effect your mind saying oh this is too gory....NO you accept it because of the Situations, its absolutely Believable the setting, man its an Excellent movie I am going to Go see it again.

King Kong (2005)

King Kong at his best

I almost had a heart attack when I heard King Kong was going to be remade and that Peter Jackson was going to make the film. I said to myself KING KONG yes I was pumped up. I didn't go to Kong is Kong. net because it would spoil it.

I arrive at the Movie theater with my date and she says to me "this movie better be good this time Kevin" I looked at her and grinned you'll love it. And so we sat and watched, the special effects were Good but they weren't as good as Jurassic Park 3(I wish Stan Winston and his crew did the special effects) The Story line kept to the Key points of the Original but of course they were heavily loaded with more action. You will fall in love with Kong and Cheer Unlikely characters. The natives were very very original. This movie rocked from beginning to end. Things I didn't like.. some scenes were not needed.However this is my opinion, and I think Peter boy got the reaction he wanted from the scenes. Lets just say out of all movies I have seen I have never seen or heard an audience react quite like this. There should have been more gore and some of the scenes should have been slightly extended and reduce some of the action to make the environment feel more real. The ending although powerful could have been ten times more powerful with a bit more cruelty towards Kong. Other then that a 10/10. Both me and my Date cried at the end and you should too!!!!. She loved it.

Jarhead (2005)

A Marine Sniper in Kuwait!!!

OK Honestly I thought this movie was going to be about the Marine Unit that actually got attacked by Iraqi Forces during operation desert shield, not some light mortar fire. But it wasn't and I scratched my head and said how can you make a movie about Desert Storm with out using units that saw combat. I didn't get it. The start was cool all the way up to the "fighting" part. Three Kings was a good desert storm story with action and coolness, this movie was well, dull, I liked some it. To movie makers out there please read the script first and figure out what the movie can and cant do. I know it was based on a true story, but you don't make true stories that BLOW into movies that promise a lot on the previews. You want to see some "true" combat stories why don't you make some of the War now, my god there's more Rambo stuff going on in Afganistan and Iraq right now. I like the Directional flow of the film it touches on the softness of the Marines and what happens to Soldiers when they go over seas. I love the way the movie set up and it would have been soooo much better with a different story. My god it would have been Oscar material easily if it was a cool story but like i said before it blows.6/10

Doom (2005)

All Hell Breaks Lose

When the remake of Doom was announced every one wanted to get the game and the anticipation was high. The story line of the game changed a bit so it would be more "Movie" like, there for a movie was probably already in the works. The movie was similar to the game in that anticipation is what drove me(and my car) to the theater. I expected a crappy movie. What I got was Awesome. The action was great and it reminded me of ALiens in fact I think they took some stuff from Aliens, but I don't care it was sweet. The movie got your Adrenaline going and gets you all excited. The acting was decent, the sets and SFX were great.

Dislikes: Some of the scenes were too fast, in a couple scenes they used too much shadow and darkness. (Spoiler) One of the Marines seemed too strong vs the Death Knight.

Strong Likes: Even though the movie Seemed mindless, they were leading some place with explanation of what was going on, Unfortunalty the movie hit on the action more then the story which is being strongly developed through subtle clues.(spoiler) Through these little clues of what is happen and the Ending sequence the movie is wide open at the end. A sequel is coming and if anything like Aliens they will basically tell the audience what indeed did happened. I cant wait. This is a must see movie 10/10

Lord of War (2005)

Scar Face but with guns instead of Cocaine

The beginning of the movie told me I have to buy this when it comes out on DVD. The opening sequence was so awesome I almost cried. The movie goes along the lines of Scar face where an immigrant from communist controlled area, in this case the Soviet union, comes to America and winds up in a high crime area. The main character Yuri starts of small with a sale here and there but then the world is his literally. The movie was very funny in a disturbing way. Its funny and disturbing because its true. Depending on your lady friends or wife I wouldn't recommend this as a dating movie, unless she is treating him. Cause Us guys love guns and thats what this movie is about.

Raptor Island (2004 TV Movie)

This movie rocks

Man this movie was the best movie I have ever seen!Nah I am just playing it was pretty bad but I was interested in the movie because I wanted to see if it could get any worse near the end. I wont lie i was interested in the story, However the CGI was horrible. The script was very c grade but it was interesting. I am wondering about some of the CGI with the helicopters cause they look too good to come from the same guys as the raptors. I suspect they spliced some video game footage and put it in. Also I am giving this movie a ten because I fear that a lot of people will give it a one which in turn, will make the movie "APE" and "Raptor" move up in the worst movie category. That cannot be allowed. Attack of the killer tomatoes was better than ape!!!

Ape (1976)

Yeah a Giant ape

If I could put a zero down for a number I would for this film. I am a King Kong fan and I have seen every King Kong even Kong vs Godzilla so naturally I was attracted to the movie cover of APE. So like an idiot I read the back of the box and say to myself "It sounds good" drop ten bucks for it and take it home. I slide it in the VCR and about 5 minutes into the film I turn it off. I couldn't watch the rest of until I had seen a brain doctor to tell me everything was OK. Well about three months later I decided to try and watch it. Its probably one of the worst films ever made. I believe its in the book of worst films ever made actually. Some reasons why the movie is horrible, the ape doesn't make any noises what so ever, he disco dancers why being shot with burning arrow's, flips off the camera, wears sneakers, and throws some nice sliders with rocks. I cant even think about this move any more its depressing. O out of 10.

Saw (2004)

OK SPOILER ALERT

This movie is not good nor is it great, it's OK. Not worth the 8 bucks to see in the theater but its not a total waste. The movie lacks acting big time.Danny Glover, well, even he didn't do so well in the film.The best part about the film was the ending not just because you couldn't wait to get out of the theater to go home with your date which she wasn't scared like u wanted her to be , but because it was a good ending, however there's a big question mark.

Possible spoiler coming up here in a bout five words Remember that the MAIN character is a doctor a surgeon more precisely............remember that when the movie finish's and you'll see what I mean. Another thing I like about the movie is the mood. And the killer is very disturbing and sick.

Collateral (2004)

Excellent

The best movie I have seen in a long time. The best movie of the summer by far.Tom Cruise was a major bad ass in this film and played the part perfect.My god I get excited thinking about this movie. The camera work was paramount. I love the high definition camera work mixed with the traditional movie camera. It was great the plot was simple and to the point and the fact the movie was taken place in 6-7 hour span, just great. The acting was great. I would pay $20 to see this movie again. The movie is so entertaining you could watch it again and again and you wouldn't get bored. I give this a 10 border line 11. This is a must see movie and if you don't you will have missed one of the best films this year or for a long time.

Resident Evil: Apocalypse (2004)

Very Entertaining

This movie is great. I am a RE fan I've played the core RE games and I for one did not and do not want to see a movie thats Just like the game. RE Apocalyspe as with the RE1 have many of the game elements but they have been switched around and moved all over the place. This is a good idea that way you don't know what will happen every scenes. There are parts in the movie that are not explained but like in the first one they will probably have a 3rd installment that would explain some of it. The mercenaries weren't explained in the film and the S.T.A.R.S team had a shallow explanation. Some of the dialogue was PG-13 for an R film. The strong use of women in the lead parts was too much for me but its a great money making move.

The finer points of the film was the nonstop action, The comic relief was great,and the zombies where kind set aside as secondary threats. I love the Nemis he was right on the money. The licker's were sad compared to the first film. The K-9's were much more fun in this film. The gore was notched up a bit but wasn't suspenseful like the slicing dice scenes in the first film, that was great, all in all this film was a ten. Well worth the 8 bucks unless you don't like zombies and video games and just don't like movies in general and if thats the case why are you reading this?

Reign of Fire (2002)

Pretty good movie i thought

This movie is different in the fact it's about dragons and their rule of man kind.The acting was incredable for this film and the special effects were top of the line. The plot was a lil iffy but thats ok cuase its about human survival and not the dragons.( The dragons were very well done CGI and creature effects) It's a good movie and its very entertaining.

End of Days (1999)

I thought this movie was great

Who better then Arnold to save the world? no body man. This movie was good despite some negative viewer reviews.The movie's plot is like this apparently the 1000 years of peace is about over (please 1000 of peace through the 20th century) well any way Satan is freed from Hell and walks the earth to find a wife/host for his child. Arnold finds out about the whole deal though strange occurances.Arnold then finds himself in a battle against pure evil its self. Oh but don't worry God's on his side and he's taking names and no bull.

Resident Evil (2002)

This movie is an excellent adaptation to the Game

All I got to say is this movie surprised me. When I saw the tv ads I said to my self " Man that doesn't look like it would be any good" So I didn't go to the Theater to see it(big mistake).In stead I got the DVD and when I watched, I was blown away by how good it was. The composing, The camera work and the creature creation were outstanding not to mention the acting and script were decent.The begining and ending of this film are symbolic to each other and are by far the best begining and ending sequences I have ever seen in a Film. All in all this is a great film.

Ape (1976)

May God destroy those whom have created this abomination

This video is probably the worst film ever made. I have a feeling that the director and script writer wanted to make the worst film of all time.If that is the case they did it. Now a 36 foot ape that is in Korea. It kills jaws,flicks off a helichopter,does the disco,and gets killed by annoying soldiers that stick thier gun barrel right next to the lens of the camera all with out making a noise mind you. I think the ape doesn't have a voice box or tongue.It's seriously the worst film ever. I have this film at my house and i paid $10 for it about 13 years agon when i was 5 cuase i liked king kong and stuff right so i thought hey looks good. when I got home and put it in i couldn't watch more then 5 minutes of it. A 5 year old i tell you couldn't satnd it Barney is better this peice of poo.
