In the Red (1999)
Very Different...
The reason that i got this movie was because it was on sale at Target for $6. The cover seemed interesting, so i decided 'why not'?
I took it home and started watching it, thinking that it was going to be like a "Fast and Furious" re-make. But it turned out that cars isn't really what this movie is about. I mean, sure the characters drive around in modified cars, but there is no real "street racing" as you might have expected.
Instead, it's more about this guy (the main character) who does many illegal activities, and the police want to capture him. So they blackmail another guy who knows the main character, into setting up a meeting so the police can catch him.
I think that the movie is set in or near Sydney, Australia. So it's kind of funny hearing the actors talk with Aussie accents, and saying things like "Ay, mate." But it was nice to see a movie that's not made in the USA, and feature actors whom we don't know. In the beginning, you might thing, "what is this!?!?" But give it a chance because as the movie goes on, you get drawn into it. So overall, i would give it a 7/10 rating.
2 Fast 2 Furious (2003)
Actually a good movie!!!
I went to see this movie because i really liked the 1st one, and this one was as good as my expectations. It follows the story of Brian O'Connor (Paul Walker), and his old friend Roman Pearce (Tyrese). Together they work for the FBI, and are trying to capture a drug lord named Carter Verone (Cole Hauser). There is also an undercover cop helping them who is Monica Fuentes (Eva Mendez).
Throughout the story you get to meet other racers like Suki (Devon Aoki), Slapjack (Michael Ealy), and Orange Julius (Amaury Nolasco). Along with other characters like Tej (Ludacris) who has his own garage, and Jimmy (Jin Auyeung) Tej's mechanic.
The stunts are better than the 1st movie's and in this one there are more exotic cars and 2 important american muscle cars. So i would recommend this movie to anyone who liked the 1st one, and anyone who is into cars (you can actually learn about cars in this movie).
X2 (2003)
A Great Action Movie
This is a great movie, and i strongly recommend it to everyone! In this movie you get more into the characters than the 1st. You get to learn more about Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) and his past. The characters Nightcrawler (Alan Cummings) and Lady Deathstrike (Kelly Hu) are also introduced in this movie.
There are more scenes with the children/teens, and you get to see there powers. The main ones that you see are Rogue (Anna Paquin), Iceman (Shawn Ashmore), and Pyro (Aaron Stanford). However you get to see more that have smaller parts like Colossus (Daniel Cudmore), Siryn (Shauna Kain), Artie (Bryce Hodgson), Jubilee (Kea Wong), and Kitty Pryde aka Shadowcat (Katie Stuart).
The special effects are well done, and are amazing to watch. The ending is a great one, and it leaves you wondering whats going to happen next, as there are many unanswered questions... =)
A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court (1989)
A great movie for everyone!
I first saw this movie when i was about 10, and loved it. Although it doesn't have any big special effects, the movie doesn't need it. The plot may sound a little dull, but the actors portray each character very well. Rene Auberjonois, who plays Merlin adds humor to the movie and Hogo Blick, who plays Mordred, is simply evil, yet you have to like him. Whip Hubley (Lancelot) i think did the best job of all. He is so sweet and courageous, that you cant help but to adore him. Overall this movie is a enjoyable and funny adventure for all ages.
