Marriage or Mortgage: Out of the Friendzone (2021)
Easily the worst of the bunch
Where to start? Over privileged 20 somethings hyper focused on small details rather than the big picture. Definitely not ready for responsibility yet. Can't afford their own down payment. Essentially, two kids playing grown up.
Good Eats: Urban Preservation II: The Jerky (2005)
One of my favorite episodes
I love this episode because it introduced me to his excellent Beef Jerky recipe. Since I saw this episode I've made the recipe many many many times! Using a box fan and filters is a genius idea.
Family Guy: You Can't Handle the Booth (2019)
Commentary on commentarys
This episode was a welcome break from the formula that we've come to expect from Family Guy. It's a gimmicky idea but it works. The last half of the episode is especially brilliant and I wish more animated shows would follow suit.
A Series of Unfortunate Events (2017)
A hollow attempt at recreating the 2004 movie magic
MAN, the Netflix version of A Series of Unfortunate Events disappointing! It's like someone saw the 2004 movie and said "I want to make a fan version!" It has things that the movie didn't which make it bearable to watch but the overall tone is just... well, wrong. The thing that the 2004 movie got right was... well, everything! This series tries to make Unfortunate Events comedic and happy, when in reality the books are quite dreary and melancholy. Patrick Warburton as Lemony Snicket is a nice touch. He's believable in that character.
If I had never seen the movie, I'd probably like the series more but the movie is one of my favorites from my childhood. The ONLY reason I'll continue watching it is because they're doing the whole series of books.
